- GiaD_120 contributionsNavigating a dogsled through the night swedish ArcticAfter skiing on Kings trail I got on this trip as a culmination of my time in the Swedish arctic. I drove my own sled in a night ride through a well-travelled snow path through a pine forest and across a lake under a full moon. The setting was other-worldly. It was a peak experience. Unforgettable. The huskies are highly spirited, barking and chasing the sled in front of them. SnowDog Arctic Adventures is located well enough outside Kiruna so that there are no interfering city lights or structures. We were picked up from Craig R, the owner, came over from elsewhere in Northern Europe with a few huskies to settle in Sweden to do the real thing. He now has about 70 well taken care of dogs and a passionate staff. I was a bit tentative about driving my own sled as there is a technique and you go flying along the path with fast highly spirited huskies. I spent time looking at videos on how to drive a sled that afternoon and felt comfortable enough doing it that night. I highly recommend pulling up utube videos if you’re thinking about driving a sled as there is a technique to avoid flipping a sled or tangling the dogs.Written 30 March 2024
- signinsareapain0 contributionsWonderfulWhat an amazing experience. The staff were warm and helpful. We were picked up at the Ice Hotel, without issue. Prior to the ride, we had cuddle time with the pups. So cute. The ride itself was great. (Just be sure to hold on tight. The dogs love to run and they are always eager to take off.) After the ride we were given a choice of coffee or tea and cookies. They also talked about the dogs. Then we were dropped back off at our hotel. On a side note - they had warm clothes for you to borrow, if you wanted. It was warm (35F and sunny, so we were good.) And they are a dry bathroom, if needed. It was clean.Written 27 March 2024
- Vacation015477985400 contributionsUnforgettable experience in Lapland. It was an exceptional encounter. The staff members were amiable and provided excellent support, enabling us to have an unforgettable experience that will last a lifetime. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can highly recommend Snowdog and their prices are reasonable and staff provide exceptional services. In addition, they are flexible and allowed us to change the initial planned date as our train got cancelled at the last moment.Written 20 March 2024
- jah1400 contributionsDog sledding adventure -- highly recommendedThe Snowdog staff were committed to making sure we had fun while keeping us safe. They picked us up at the specified time, made sure we had all the warm clothes we needed, introduced us to the adorable dogs, explained how to drive the sleds, and made sure we were all comfortable with what we needed to do. Along the way they helped us control the dogs when needed, took us on an amazing ride through wooded trails, and patiently answered all of our questions about the dogs. Dog sledding was a thrill, and I felt comfortable at all times with the Snowdog staff.Written 20 March 2024

- annikaw4920 contributionsGreat expreience with the huskiesThe crew was great. I love the huskies. We got to cuddle with the huskies before and after the ride. The entire experience was so great, going through the lake and the forest, even though it was a bit cloudy. We got to stay in a hut for a small break with coffee/ tea and cookies afterward.Written 17 March 2024
- annamariaw2960 contributionsDog loveIt was most important for the kids to be able to cuddle with the dogs and to connect to some of them - which was a really nice experience as nearly all of them loved the human contact and it we got good guiding which dogs were more shy. We definitely fell in love with more than one of them and are still tempted to adopt one of them who doesn´t want to be a sledge dog... It felt like the dogs were in the center, not the money. The tour itself was nice, to se the arctic nature closeby and from different perspectives, the clothes we got kept us warm. Thanks to all friendly humans and dogs!Written 14 March 2024
- Osmita0 contributionsSpectacular views with great huskiesWe went for a afternoon dog sledding tour with Snow dog adventures. We were picked up exactly on time and were given overalls to wear. The crew was very friendly and helpful. we got some time to interact with the wonderful huskies and after that we went for the 1 hour tour. The views were fantastic , going thru the forest areas full of snow. IT was spectacular and took many photos. I think they take good care of the dogs as this was very important for us as we are dog lovers and pet parents ourselves.WOuld recomend Snow Dog adventures . Craig is a great host and he shared some wonderful videos of our rides with the beautiful huskies .Written 14 March 2024
- davidmhbiotec0 contributionsUnforgettable experience in Kiruna with a super friendly staffWe hired the Polar Sunrise Eco Experience, where two people share and drive a sled. It was our first time driving a sled, and we did not know if we were ready for this activity, so we mailed them. They told us it was easy and fun, so we went for it. Now we can confirm that it was the best decision. From the beginning, the team was super friendly and professional: they know what they do. After providing us with the proper clothes and explaining everything perfectly, we started the activity. It is impossible to describe the feeling of driving (SUPER funny!) or sitting in the sled while enjoying the breathtaking views and nature. Dogs are not my favorite animal (let's say that), but they were incredibly people-friendly and did a great job. Back in the camp, we enjoyed tea in a hut, sitting close to the fire and sharing experiences. If you visit Kiruna anytime, you cannot miss this! Thanks for everything! - timhC4686MN0 contributionsGreat experience, especially on a sunny day!We were very fortunate to have sunshine on pure white snow when we went on the dog sled tour. It was picture perfect. My wife mushed the sled while I sat as the passenger. The stillness of nature helped to make it a great experience. We had gone snowmobiling the evening before, but much preferred the dog sled, as it was much more in tune with Nature. The dogs were great and it was clear that the staff really knew and cared for each one of them. Their farts smell worse than our dog's farts, but on the upside, the huskies do not shed.Written 14 March 2024

- U4262ZAsydneys0 contributionsA must-do in Kiruna! This was one of the best family adventures we have ever done. The whole crew was kind, organized, friendly, and welcoming. We did the evening dogsledding dinner, and got to see the most amazing Northern Lights with all of it. The food was delicious and our dietary restrictions were easily accommodated. Thank you to the entire staff and the sweet dogs for making a lasting memory for our family. I would definitely recommend this experience.Written 9 March 2024
- Cyberfly1000 contributionsCuddle the goodest boys and girlsSuper friendly dogs that love to cuddle. Highly recommended. We got food as an exception, which is normally only served with the evening tour. It was super delicious and there was even a vegan option.Written 7 March 2024
- 588katharinaz0 contributionsRide with the friendliest dogs in KirunaFantastic tour with friendly guides, cuddly dogs and delicious food afterwards. The landscape was beautiful, so happy that the dogs were pulling us through the snow. We were lucky to get a lunch of delicious reindeer stew which we had in a little hut that was heated with an open fire. The guides told us lots of fun story and we had a fantastic time. Would absolutely come back to do another tour and cuddle with the dogs!Written 7 March 2024

Amazing experience with the Huskies and the team! There wasn’t enough snow for dog sledding but we were offered an ATV guided tour instead and it was truly worth it. Incredible to see how the dogs were getting exited before the tour. The staff was very nice and friendly and after the activity we enjoyed some snack and played with the little three-months-old puppies. Highly recommended!

This was such a great experience. We were desperately looking for a dogsledding tour and had a recommendation to contact snowdogs.Craig, the owner, and his staff are so warmhearted and friendly. The dogs are just amazing and love to be cuddled. The tour throughout this beautiful landscape was the greatest experience on our trip to Swedish Lapland. Pure fun. Absolutely recommendable!

The walking season is not yet open, due to lack of snow. However, we were able to participate in dog training and visit the kennel.
Unlike other kennels, dogs are treated extremely well and the boss (Scotsman pure juice) and his staff are dedicated to their well-being throughout their lives, from birth (we saw 5 adorable puppies and their mother) to retirement, and throughout their ‘working life’.
We can’t wait to go back in the middle of the season to make some excursions in this area that we love so much.
