About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Teuch_Terinhale0 contributionsDon’t buy thisThis was misrepresented as a ticket to get in, the advert was unclear. Also, the people at the entrance didn’t even recognise the pass. Don’t waste your money.Written 10 February 2025
- charlenepZ3084FP0 contributionsHighly recommendThis place was perfect. Our youngest is autistic and this was the best place to go to break up our busy, outdoor weekend. We all absolutely loved it and staff were friendly. Great location as well with it being right in the central stationWritten 11 January 2025
- JakeTravel12450 contributionsNot goodA terrible experience, unfortunately. We arrived at “The Tube” and staff were friendly and helpful. Once inside, we were met with a queue at the Ball Pit which was fine and completely understandable. By using common sense and etiquette gained from being in the environment for a few minutes, we waited our turn for the main areas, and waited in an ordered line where there were obvious queues. We then passed through open spaces more quickly than other guests who were spending lots of time taking staged photos. There were no problems and most guests passed one another with a smile or thanks when guests wanted to stay in certain areas for longer. Until… we were intensely stared at and verbally abused by another customer who accused us of pushing in front of them, despite them stopping towards another area to take photographs instead of walking directly ahead. We apologised, said we meant no harm and offered them to go ahead of us. The customer began to act in a very strange way, being aggressive and threatening towards us… even mocking, insulting and directly arguing with us. It was so strange. We insisted they went ahead of us in the line so that we could diffuse the situation but they again refused. We stayed in line for a few minutes and the comments and insults continued, as well as them talking about us in a different language that we didn’t speak. We then decided to leave as my other half felt intimidated because it was aggressive at this point. Other guests looked embarrassed and concerned but no one spoke up, I tried to defend us but this person was truly unhinged and there was no reasoning with them. Even their friends looked on in disbelief. We complained at the main reception desk, and raised concerns about there being no staff inside the venue. We were offered another visit around the Tube, we declined.Written 2 January 2025
- ranipendse0 contributionsSimple route to get near attractionsUsual hop on hop off bus with recoded audio guides. Goes past a lot of the attractions. About 20 mins frequency but bus gets busy as the day goes on. Some spots near boat tour locations can make it extra crammed from people joining off ships. Rainy days can make the inside of the bus smell like wet carpet. App was great in figuring out bus arrival and getting in line but be mindful that it can be a massive crowd as there are 3 bus tour operators sharing some of the stops so it can be chaotic. Purchasing the ticket itself was super easy. Shout-out to Camila at the Copenhagen Central Station location who very patiently explained options. Took the bus with add on options for Tivoli entrance admission (saves 60 DKK per person for combo ticket) and if you have previously used Red Sightseeing (Stockholm or Berlin), show the ticket to get 15% off on the bus tour only ticket. If you're short of time and not comfortable navigating the metro system, this can be a good option to consider. Just sitting in bus and taking a round will be just over 1.5 hours. Buses run 9-5 but check for special timings during seasons or when boat tours are involved.Written 30 December 2024
- O7294JOmikew0 contributionsA double visit. Take note - THIS is what excellent customer service feels like!I’ve just returned from my second visit of the day to The Tube in Copenhagen. The first visit was fabulous - staff were friendly and accommodating (more on this later!) and the experience was as interesting as it was fun - I spent a happy 20 minutes with my family in the ball pit alone, and the other illusions and exhibits were great too. My second visit - instigated when several hours later I realised my car keys were missing- made me appreciate the staff even more. They were so, so helpful and searched the ball pit with me, and soon enough - they were found. A thousand thank yous isn’t enough - what a true example of customer service. You’ve made a foolish old man very happy! Top tip for other visitors- put your keys in the provided lockers! Thanks again for a wonderful experience and for finding them for me! Phew!Written 13 December 2024
- gracefielding200 contributionsTHE TUBE COPENHAGENThe Tube Copenhagen is a great experience for everyone. It’s a fun, easygoing journey with a few interactive spaces not only for the kids. I do have to say that if you are claustrophobic or don’t like flashing lights this is not the place for you. If you wanna take photos and you only have two people, you might not be able to do all the rooms. Another reason of why I gave 4 stars is because in some rooms, they tell you what photo to take and it doesn’t make sense. For example there was a train track room and it says to stand on the train track and take a photo like what that’s just silly. A couple of the rooms were a ball pit, photo booths with props, and other rooms but I have to say it was a lot of photo taking and less physical interactive move ment. They do have a green screen at the end, you have three free shots and a few Christmas props. You have year to download them in your phone and they would give you more details later. There is a really cool photo bit where you stand in some sort of light and it makes the photo look creepy. This location also is a great spot. Take the train the central station and move outside and along the side and it will be clear. Overall the tube Copenhagen is a great place needing a few more touches.Written 11 December 2024

- Stay6002630 contributionsOnly worthwhile if you have the Copenhagen CardI went there with my 10 year old daughter. It was fun, it had its moments, it was very short (done in less than 30 minutes), and if you are a group in the right mood that gear each other up, then go for it. However, had we actually paid for it separately, we would have felt ripped off compared to the cost of other great attractions in Copenhagen, such as the Museum of Illusions or Believe it or Not, that offers some of the same things. For what it costs I would only recommend it if you have a Copenhagen Card, then stop by and give it a go.Written 15 November 2024

We really enjoyed the hop on hop off bus experience. It is definitely my favorite way to see a city in a short amount of time.
My suggestion regarding the Red Sightseeing App would be to have links that would open a map app and give you the actual location of each stop. We used the map on the app but the “dots” on that map were never the actual bus stop. We walked around for 15 minutes trying to figure out where the bus would be at the Christiansborg Palace stop.
As far as the bus, only one out of three drivers made any announcements about upcoming stops. The announcements from the one driver were super helpful! I do realize that the audio provided did give stop info, however, each headset jack that I tried was scratchy sounding and we ended up missing one of our stops.

In all the years of traveling, I’ve seen these buses in different countries and I’ve never had the desire to buy tickets until now. It was raining in Copenhagen in November which can be normal. I didn’t feel like walking around in the rain so we sat in the bus and learned something’s about the area and sights. We got off at Nyhavn and never got back in after our dunch which is why I gave it 4 stars. My only issue is that we had a hard time finding where the bus actually stopped when it is not in front of a popular attraction. There are three hop on and off buses in town so that adds to the confusion. If you have a hard time walk all over town or traveling with someone with a physical disability or a senior, it’s a great option! I do recommend staying on the bus for an entire cycle before you get off your stop though. Get your moneys
Worth. Also it’s a great alternative to a rainy day if you don’t want to be cold and wet.

Dear guest,
Thank you for the feedback and for the 4 stars.
We would like to kindly mention that we strongly recommend the guests to download the Red Sightseeing app which will allow the guests to see the exact location of our buses in real-time and also to find the bus stops.
The Hop on Hop off bus is indeed a great option to explore the city and we are happy that you joined us.
We hope you had a wonderful time in the city!

The city was beautiful and enjoyed the boat ride. However, our day coming off the cruise ship was disappointing with the hop on hop off operator. Other competitors were there picking up their passengers with multiple buses and Red Line Bus was not there at all …I called, left message and texted with no answer. Several of us took taxis to the city center stop 1 - the offices didn’t open until 9am. This is not acceptable. This operator should have been flexible with the cruise ship schedule similar to their competitors- we disembarked at 7am and hopped on the first bus at 9am + incurred a 22 crone taxi cab.
I suggest Trip Advisor-Viator to use one of the other bus operators. Not a very satisfied customer.

This bus tour was booked by another member of my family and although I believe these buses are a scam and way too expensive, I went along with it as the ones in London are not nearly as bad as this experience was. As we were on a cruise ship, we were also joined by lots of other cruisers which was the first issue. The drivers were not very welcoming and clearly disinterested in the passengers. We got off at our first stop and walked around for an hour. Upon getting back to the bus stop, we waited for 1/2 hour for another bus! This length of time is ridiculous particularly given the limited time we had in the city. We then took advantage of the boat option we had booked which actually was really solid and a bright spot in an awful day with these buses. After the boat tour was finished, we walked back to the bus stop and saw the bus preparing to leave. We ran to it, a traffic light prevented us from getting across as quickly as we would have liked and although we made it to the bus just as the bus shut the door, we were not allowed on despite there being room to at least stand. For some bizarre reason, some of the buses only take capacity for seated guests despite being plenty of standing room on the bottom deck. This led to us waiting another 20-25 minutes for the next one in which we went through more stops with very few people able to get on due to our driver refusing to let anyone on due to 'no more seats'. As we were sitting at the front on the bottom deck, we could see the driver was checking his phone frequently and calling random people and seemingly completely disinterested in his job. The traffic was equally bad and we spent an exceedingly long time at certain stops despite there being 'no more room'. This bus route made me so upset with what could have been a great day and I am infuriated that this company is so appallingly organised. Get more buses, improve your audio guides (my mum said it was boring, generic and bland) and get drivers who actually are a little more helpful. I wish I had gone on my own on public transport but didn't want anyone to worry about me but I would strongly advise anyone who can gain a solid grasp of maps and geography quickly to use the Metro in the city instead of these god awful buses until they improve them substantially. Or if you are going to use these buses, DO NOT USE THEM in the summer months or when there are multiple cruises in town.

I like open top sightseeing buses, especially if your trip is brief. They provide a great overview of a place and the opportunity to see far more than you could fit in by foot or public transport. I'm particularly pleased that I chose this company. Do make sure to look for the buses labelled 'red' sightseeing tour bus and not the 'city' ones. Maps and earphones for the commentary are provided. There is only one route but it has 22 stops and covers all the main sights. The bus stopped two minutes away from my hotel (stop 4 outside The Marriott Hotel) which was really convenient. The drivers were all friendly and clearly called out every stop so that you never wondered where you were. The buses were regular, seats were usually available, and there were a few stops (e.g Little Mermaid, Gefion Fountain) with a brief wait allowing you to get off and take a quick photo. Stop 8 is where you get off for the boat tour. There is a company office right outside where I had to go and exchange my online voucher for a boat ticket . It's a straightforward 3 minute walk to catch the boat. Don't be too put off if the queue appears to be very long. Our boat was a very large catamaran and as people embarked the queue went down very quickly. The guide was really friendly and informative and I'd reallly recommend buying the combined bus/boat ticket which was great value.

This was advertised as a hop-on, hop-off tour experience. It was priced affordably, and as far as getting a return into town and back from our cruise terminal - that was the highlight.
The tour was prerecorded and reasonably informative. Hopping on and off however proved entirely unrealistic. A circuit takes about an hour and a half, so with 4 and a half hours on shore that day, this seemed a good way to approach seeing Copenhagen.
However, once off, the busses were full and wouldn’t let us “hop back on”. Eventually we got back on one, which got as far as the little mermaid, then announced it was “taking a break and no idea what would be next”.
So, that was to for every sense and purpose “end of the line”. We saw 90% of the tour, once, got drenched waiting for multiple buses to find one with capacity for 2 people, and lost most of a day to the experience.
Wouldn’t recommend beyond a £20 per person return ride into town from the cruise terminal.

Bought 24hr sightseeing tickets for 4 people, 2 with mobility issues. Only found out on the second day that Red Sightseeing didn't operate on the 2nd day, Tuesday 5th November. We had asked about using the ticket the following day, including the canal trip and were told they were valid. So, having had to walk and get cabs we ended up having our whole schedule thrown out by misinformation and dare I say being mis-sold ? Anyway, dissapointed to say the least. Will see what they say in response to the email sent requesting a full refund. Suffice to say, can't recommend them, just stick to the bus with the official stickers on the side and avoid red sightseeing unless you ask lots of questions you didn't know you needed to ask!

Perfect attraction to tour the city during very cold and windy days. We were also to able to get a great overview of the city, history, and areas of interest while staying warm.
Our driver was very personable and spent time greeting each person, providing individualized service.
I would recommend this attraction to those new to Copenhagen that want to get an overview of the city, and the layout before venturing out on your own.
They offer multiple routes that you can take for different interest. You can buy a ticket for a single route or buy the multiple route option. Same with the number of days, you can buy a single day or multiple days of you like.

An incredible experience, from start to end, Pablo was wonderful and explained the entire itinerary to us, very friendly and helpful. The places we visited were beautiful, it was very easy to find the meeting points that are well explained in the brochure they provide. The whole family was delighted. I highly recommend it for the experience and it is a very good way to see the most attractive spots in the city without having to organize yourself and especially if you have little time. Thank you!

Great day in the city with really efficient bus services and helpful staff. Very windy which resulted in us losing our ticket down a large drain! Despina in the main office in the city centre renewed or tickets free of further charge and chatted to us while we waited for the next bus back to our cruise ship. Brilliant customer service- thanks ever so much Despina!

Does the Copenhagen Red Sightseeing Hop-on Hop-off bus pick up at the Oceankaj dock?
Written 18 August 2019
Yes, it was supposed to when a cruise ship was in. But, it might not be consistent because we had to remind the drivers that we want to disembark on the pier the two times we return to the ship during the 48 hours. If you are waiting to board the bus on the pier, it became a little scary after a while because there was no set time that they would appear. If a driver decided to skip the stop since there was no one getting off, you might wait for a long time. The sure shot was walking to the Mermaid stop which was 1/4 to 1/2 mile away.
