About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- alexkU5557ZO0 contributionsZakynthos 2024Lots of fun in the sun. The weather during the summer months can get warm. Unfortunately there were quite a few boats looking for the turtles when we went which resulted in crowding around the same one. Overall, punctual, fun and very warm.Written 10 January 2025
- DaveMuir0 contributionsGreat family day outI was worried about going on this trip with young children, especially my 3 year old, but they loved it. Our Captain quickly located some turtles, which everyone loved. We then explored the area around Keri caves and stopped for a swim in some beautiful water. We then stopped at Marathonisi for an hour. Everyone loved it.Written 20 October 2024
- Michael S0 contributionsTurtle tripLovely day out. I only saw the one turtle, but it was still an amazing experience. A good way to spend a few hours in the sunshineWritten 17 October 2024
- miadQ5007DM0 contributionsBLUE CAVESExcellent experience!! All praise to the skipper Kostas, who did his job perfectly and made sure that our trip to Blue Caves was unforgettable. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Shipwreck 'cause of the wind, but the agency gave us partly refund. Also would like to mention that communication went without any troubles and they patiently and kindly respond to every question we had. SO ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THIS AGENCY!!!Written 1 October 2024
- Curious286144363500 contributionsA must-do Zakynthos experience! We thoroughly enjoyed this boat trip experience and added bonus- we seen a turtle! It actually swam right underneath our glass bottom boat! 😁 We would definitely recommend this trip and operator. The Captain of the boat was very professional and informed us where would be going and for how long.Written 28 September 2024
- D7914FPricardoa0 contributionsBeautiful ride in crystal clear blue waters. The trip was a lot of fun. It’s a short journey, lasting two and a half hours, but it gives you enough time to enjoy beautiful landscapes, swim in crystal-clear waters, and have a very pleasant time. The captain, Costas, is a charming person and very willing to accommodate passengers' requests. The only downside is that smoking is allowed on the boat, and for those of us who don’t smoke, it takes away some of the charm of the experience. Without a doubt, I would repeat this adventure.Written 27 September 2024
- BrummieBrett0 contributionsBetter than expectedWe booked the trip with honestly quite low expectations of seeing any turtles and were just up for a sunny boat trip. The captain had a good search around for turtles and the other operators all help each other when one is spotted. We managed to see two turtles surfacing next to the boat and had a great swim at both stops. The boat wasn’t overcrowded and the captain was probably the most excited person on the boat when each turtle was spotted, which made for a fun memorable experience. The trip was excellent value and we would recommend it to anyone.Written 22 September 2024
- robertdF2742IN0 contributionsDisappointing .There are many different companies offering the same or similar excursions. My opinion is not a reflection on any one particular operator. Personally, I did not enjoy this trip. Our trip started from Laganas marina. Firstly, when the trip says, 'see the turtles in their natural environment', that is in effect the very busy Laganas harbour. You literally go out 20 metres from the mooring. The nature of these poor creatures are that they are hard wired to return to the beach where they hatched even though that beach has been turned into a tourist resort in the meantime. They have to surface every 45 minutes or so to breath and when they do, for literally a few seconds, they are surrounded by a flotilla of boats and tourists sounding horns, revving their motors and quite honestly harassing them. I felt very uncomfortable and in all honesty wished I hadn't experienced it. The next stop was 'Marathonissi island', a short trip across the water. The beach looks fantastic on photos but if you look carefully you will see that as the island is in fact a reserve you can only use the outer edge of the beach. In effect about 10 feet. I did not go in the high season but even so, the beach was so crowded and cramped that you could hardly set foot on it without stepping on someone. Everyone lined up like sardines around the edge virtually touching each other. If it wasn't for the fact that the boat then leaves to go and get another load of passengers, I would have stayed on board. Also, the setting down / picking up of tourists is chaotic. There is no specific areas for bathers and boats. People swimming in the sea where large vessels are coming in and out, tripping over mooring ropes etc , in the hour I was there, I witnessed several 'near misses' where boats hadn't noticed people in the sea. I was glad to leave. The 'blue caves' are nice to see but if you are not a good swimmer that is all you can do, look at them them. I have been to Greece many times and love the country but this was the first time I have ever felt that I was on a conveyor belt of over tourism. I wouldn't go again and would urge others to think again before doing so.Written 16 September 2024
- S3009JLjennym0 contributionsSunset cruiseThe trip was very good, had 2 swim stops and got to see a sunset. Captain was funny and even got a drink of wine after the sunset.Written 14 September 2024
- 276joannat0 contributionsEnjoyable private tour with swimming stopsWe had fantastic time on the 3-hour cruise. There were about 20 people on board, the atmosphere was nice and captain was very friendly and cared for our experience. We quickly spotted a turtle and spent quite some time observing it. We really enjoyed both swimming stops too, saw lots of fish. I would advise to take your snorkeling equipment with you. We really recommend the tour! Thank youWritten 7 September 2024
- 968mariadelmari0 contributionsDisappointed, it is not a turtle spotting tour. Nasty and reckless captain drivingIf you are interested in seeing sea turtles, this is not the tour for you. Go to the port of Agios Sostis and lokk for a fisherman who is on a boat feeding the turtles. You will see them better and you won't feel bad. We booked this tour with the idea of visiting the park and seeing the sea turtles in their habitat and we ended up very disappointed. It is not a tour to see turtles and enjoy the park in peace. It is not a guided tour either, the captain of the boat was a very rude person who only said four words to give us orders and who turned a deaf ear when I asked him a question. To get on the boat you have to get wet up to about your waist, something to keep in mind beforehand. We saw a single turtle in the port of Agios Sostis cornered by a dozen boats which made us feel terrible. The stop was short and there was hardly any time to take photos, which was somewhat reassuring because the turtle was being harassed by the boats. From there, he picked up speed and drove the boat recklessly, overtaking the other boats, honking at them and passing close to people snorkelling. We were very scared on the boat, the boat was rolling around when it overtook a yacht at full speed. All this hurry was to stop for more than an hour at Marathonisi beach, which you can easily reach if you want by taxi boat for about €10 return. On the way back, the captain was worried about flirting with a Romanian woman who was on the boat, with whom he shared cigarettes and let her play Romanian music at full volume. We came back angry and disappointed, but we were thankful that we had arrived safe and sound because we really feared for our physical safety.Written 28 August 2024
- dominique5090 contributionsNot the bestIt was okay. 1 turtle viewing with 10 other boats trying to find the same turtle was not what i imagined. The caves and swimming was nice. The beach where we stayed an hour was small, packed and all the boats are right in front of the beach. So no view except boats.. i also expected some more from the tourguide. He did not tell anything about the turtle, turtle island or keri caves.Written 25 August 2024
- stephencS8997HM0 contributionsFantastic TripGreat experience, money well spent. Would highly recommend. Lots of Turtles where seen 👌 Great to get be out at sea, seeing Turtles, yachts and coastal sceneryWritten 25 August 2024
- Phil C0 contributionsGreat value for money, definitely recommend.Booked through Oreo Daily Tours where we are staying in Tsivili. We wanted to see turtles and thre were 2 teips avaible. Both identical except for the type of boat - the more expensive option (€5 more) had a more modern boat - after speaking to the rep we went for the more traditional, cheaper option, glass bottom boat (she did not try to push us either way). Private taxi from their office at 9.15 to the harbour area, approx 25min drive. Taxi driver was an employee of Oreo tours and stayed and made sure we got our place on the boat. It's a busy area, the boat trips are not run by Oreo tours so assume they sub-contract through the boat trip companies. Boarded the small boat, its capacity was 24 and there 23 of us and we were really not over crowded. Headed out of the harbour and saw a turtle almost straight away - we stayed in the harbour for around 10mins watching the turtle. Captain made sure not to crowd it. Headed off to Keri caves which was really good - boat was small enough to go into several of the caves - great photo opportunities. Anchored there and we swam for around 25-30mins in the crystal blue sea. Then we headed to "Turtle island" - called so as its one of 5 locations that turtles lay their eggs. This area was sectioned off to protect them. Again a great spot for swimming, but it's very busy with very little shade. We had an hour here which for us felt too long. No sign of any turtles, unsurprising given how busy it was - boat load after boat load coming and going. You're able to purchase hot dogs, snacks, drinks etc. Lovely spot, but too busy. This is the only reason I've not given it 5 stars. We headed back and Oreo tours were there to meet us and bring us back. It was super busy at the harbour and the number of boats heading out at 1pm made us glad we chose the earlier 10am time slot as it felt much quieter. For €30 per person, it's great value for money and would 100% recommend it.Written 23 August 2024
- 301mariannas0 contributionsGreat boat trip and turtle spottingWe had a great time on our boat trip. Small group of people (around 20) which was nice. We got to see the gorgeous Keri Caves, swim in crystal clear turquoise waters and also spotted turtles both at the beginning and the end of our journey. Great family trip!Written 17 August 2024

I wanted to take a ceramics course during my vacation in Zakynthos, and thanks to Yotomu, I discovered this workshop.
The three hours spent with Dyonisia were incredible, admiring her and learning the art of working with clay.
Definitely the best souvenir to take home!!
