About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Helen P0 contributionsExcellent customer ServiceJust wanted to thank Island Travel for there excellent service very efficient beautifully clean mini buses, friendly drivers will definitely use again when we return next year thank youWritten 25 August 2024
- L4836WBlaurab0 contributionsAVOID!We booked an airport shuffle there and back and were extremely disappointed. When we arrived, it took us ages to find anyone and ended up being a guy chatting to his friend not in the main area. We then had to wait over an hour for other flights before we finally left. We leave today for our flight at 13.00pm and still have not received any confirmation of pick up time, none of the numbers work so we’ve had to book a taxi. Just pay the extra and get a taxi, it is not worth it for ruining our last day!Written 10 May 2024
- TuckerTarn0 contributionsExcellent Airport TransferBooked a return airport/hotel transfer to Alykanas. Corresponded via email with Angela. Extremely efficient. The driver was waiting with a board. Smooth ride and very helpful with our enquiries about the Island. Popped by to amend our return transfer and found Angela to be very amenable and charming. The cost was excellent as after speaking to others who ordered through their hotels or directly from outside the airport, realised we’d paid at least 30 per cent less! Will defo use next time. Thank you Angela and Island Travel.Written 7 September 2023
- S7430XNlync0 contributionsGood day outWe visited the park as part of our holiday. The boys certainly had a lot of fun. There is even karting which the boys loved. However, my son bruised his hands as there no karting gloves provided/available . So the generally the safety around he waterpark no so great. The number of slides was quite limited. Good day out overallWritten 25 August 2023
- chloeescott210 contributionsGreat for kids!We visited this water park, we got a transfer from Tui as that's where we booked our holiday from. The transfer picked us up at 9:40 and took us straight there, we got there and paid for lockers but got €1 back. There is a couple of food places but a bit pricey as you can't take your own food or drinks in but we did sneak in a couple bottles of water. There is lots to do for kids also which is great, it's not a massive water park but we did enjoy ourselves. Lots of sun loungers and umbrellas everywhere and it wasn't too busy considering we went during a heatwave and summer time! Transfer picked us up at 4pm so we had plenty of time to have fun on the slides!Written 21 July 2023
- Karanszia0 contributionsBad service for 2nd day running.2nd day running we've had s**t service from this company. Yesterday's was a dangerous drive, although the boat trip itself was good. Today we waited outside our hotel as stated on our ticket. No one turned up. On phoning the office, it appears the driver picked 3 people up from the office, thought it was us so didn't stop at our hotel. To be fair to the office, when we rang the office they did say they could arrange for us to do the same trip an hour later, but that would have meant getting back just shy of midnight. The office was supper quick at coming out and giving us a cash refund. No grips with the office, just with the driver.Written 11 July 2023

- Bernicecole010 contributionsWaste of timeUnderwhelming and waste of money. The driver dropped us off gor 4 hours to go do airport run. The tour description wasn't explicit. It said ample time didn't specify that it was 4 hours. My initial review was removed and hidden.Written 12 October 2022
- Lynette F0 contributionsBest in the eveningZante town - taxi from Tsilivi was 15euros and is a 10 min drive. You can get a bus for 1.60 euros but we were advised the buses can be a little unreliable so we didn’t take the bus. There is also a road train that you can take for 7euros adults/ 4euros children. This departs 3 times per day. A little costly compared to other options. We arrived at 3pm when except for restaurants and some tourist shops, everything was mostly closed. Zante town seems to come to life after 6pm- by 9pm the town is BUZZING. The contrast between day and night is surprising. We went again, when St Dennis (24th Aug)was being celebrated. There was a massive market and religious parade. We thought it would be tricky getting back but after 15 mins outside the centre it was possible to flag a cab.Written 27 August 2022

- Treganhorne0 contributionsA Good day outReally good day out for grand parents children and grandchildren. Arrived at 10 and left at 5. There were no queues at all and plenty for all ages to enjoy. Everywhere was clean. Not allowed to take in your own food but we took in water. All the staff were very friendly.Written 28 May 2022
- 896rdk0 contributionsHighlight of our stay in ZakinthosWe were looking forward to that “shipwreck” day and when we saw the wind and waves in the morning, we thought it would not materialize.. we opted -last minute- for a captain and were offered Dennis! Dennis made that day unforgettable.. Being himself from the region, he not only showed us the main points of interest but he also showed us the most hidden caves where we could swim in all privacy in spite of the wild sea outside! Thank you Dennis (under the yellow umbrellas!) from Shipwreck Zakinthos for that day that will remain forever in our hearts!Written 31 August 2021
- Phoebs_le0 contributionsGreat day with a boat, a wreck and blue caves.Great tour. We got a pick up from the hotel. The tour was very well guided with great local knowledge.Loved the boat trip to the shipwreck beach, but for us the best part we’re the Blue Caves and the swim around them. Great to stop for food in the mountains on the way back! Great day out!Written 6 August 2021
- luizl5960 contributionsBest experience in the worldUnmissable! This is by far the best experience on the Island. Having our own private boat was not only more practical but also a lot more fun. Denise at the helping desk is awesome! She is kind and knowledgeable...the skipper Thasos (not sure how to spell his name) is incredibly skilled and fun. We had a blast!!!Written 21 September 2020
- icanswim0 contributionsAmazing beach setting!Shipwreck Beach in Zante is often voted as one of the world's best or most impressive beaches so I was keen to find out whether it lived up to expectations. Approaching and docking at the beach by boat allowed for the scale of the setting to be appreciated, particularly the size of the cliffs that tower over the relatively small but incredibly beautiful beach area. And yes, the sea really is that blue and clear! Truly stunning. My only issue was how busy it was - with multiple large boat tours all their at the same time. For the most impressive visit, go on one of the smaller boat tours and ask to visit the beach at the quieter times of the day.Written 31 August 2020

Be careful which trip you book. We were put in a small boat with no life jackets.
When they spotted one turtle all the boats surrounded the poor thing so everyone could see it. It felt very distasteful to be crowding the poor turtle.
The jetty to the boat is barely safe. Very disappointed with the standard.
I understand they are trying to catch up financially after the Covid Lockdowns but we must consider the poor turtles.

We are very sad to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. Turtle spotting is very popular and not all people abide by the rules, especially people who rent boats independently. As for the regulations with life jackets, life jackets are on board, but due to regulations by the Port Authorities, they are only allowed to be used in an emergency situation, this rule prevents damage and wear and tear...

Awful !
Picked up from our Jet2 hotel by coach, (1 of 3) which was 20 minutes late, having stopped at multiple hotels prior to us, and many after.
Bundled onto a large boat run by 'Ionic' which was rammed full of people, ( so potential for 156) with a lack of seating, and no safety briefing.
The guys admitted on our return, (one turtle spotted at sea) its off season, so the likelihood of spotting turtles was slim.
Food and drink is not included in the price, although available at an additional charge.
The swimming element off the boat was unsupervised ...
Do yourself a favour, and spend the money on a taxi instead to the harbour, where there is a turtle in residence !
Seriously not worth the money and now really disappointed with the Jet2 Rep who turned up at our Aluasoul hotel & sold us the cruise :(

Hello,
I do not know why this review has been put against our excursion as it is not one of ours... These guests have clearly bought the excursion from Jet2...

It was such a thrill seeing these beautiful creatures in situ. Great guide, Sue, who told us about the area and the turtles as we looked for them. Then we cruised over to the Keri peninsula where we looked at some caves and had a sea swim - brilliant. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the day we went on our trip, only 1 solitary turtle decided to join us by swimming by our boat. Having said that, we spoke to other people who had been on the same trip on different days and they had seen a lot more. It's not an expensive trip and the waters are lovely. Worth the money

Really enjoyed the turtle spotting tour. Our guide was very informative and helped us see 4 or 5 turtles. My onky regret was that I didn't get great pics butvtbat was my fault, the turtles surface for a few seconds and I wasn't quick enough, I would recommend videoing them and then use freeze frame to get best pics. Tour then goes out to the blue caves. Stunning scenery and blue crystal clear water. You will get opportunity to swim in the caves which is amazing. This tour was well worth the fee. I went on a similar tour thriugh my tour operator and it was nowhere near as good.

Approx 3 hours tour Turtle spotting cruise. Our Guides and Captain looked for loggerhead turtles swimming in their native envorinment of Laganas Bay, once spotted (and yes we did see a Turtle, photographed it & left it alone to continue doing things Turtles like to do) we continued the trip to get a perspective on the island's dramatic coastline. The images show you why Marathonisi is known as ‘Turtle Island’ stopped for a swim in the clear waters. Continued the trip with another 30minute stop to swim in the crystal-clear waters near Keri Caves. Our trip to the caves was a little "Choppy", when we anchored and we "bobbed" around quite a bit due to the breeze, but previously people had said how calm it was. I guess we were slighly unlucky. 26-08-18. When we began sailing again it was fine as the boat cruised along the waters.
Drinks and snacks were available to buy on board should you feel the need. Toilets on board too. We were picked up from our Hotel (Karras Grande) and drop-off included in the price. Children half price. We booked the excursion with Jet2. 20-08-18 til 27-08-18. Definitely worth doing, especailly if you get to see a Turtle swimming by.

I guess we didn't know what to expect when we sought out sea turtles. We’d seen the nests around the island and I particularly enjoyed seeing how they were protected with small structures guarding them from being trampled by the myriad tourists traipsing up and down the beaches. The entire island is fairly packed with people, but we did find a private couple of days by trying hard to find secluded spots. The turtle viewing adventure was much the same, in terms of crowds, except worse in terms of the sheer amount of people herded together in order to (in our case) see one turtle. It was a large glass-bottom boat, or submarine-boat, but when the turtle was spotted I felt the boat shift from the sheer weight of people trying to get a photo of the poor thing surfacing for air. This lone turtle was surrounded by three boats and a joy riding skiff at one point during the day.
When we finally started heading back to port it was a relief to be finished with the excursion. But, I had forgotten that we were also going to Turtle Island to hang out for an hour. I was surprised, however, to motor right past it on our way to some blue caves to view with myriad others bobbing about, then to swim with about 50 people from two boats splashing about and going to town in a beautiful blue cove for 15 minutes. Then it was back onto the boat and a quick float over to the island we had motored by earlier. They dumped us all out and sped away, leaving us on a beach with literally boat-loads of people and no shade. Immediately I began walking towards some rock outcroppings to get out of the hot afternoon sun while we waited for the boat to come back. Once I arrived, however, I found that the only shady alcove on the entire beach had been used as a toilet. I don’t recommend this trip at all.

The trip never happened! On the reservation it says to call to confirm even if you already paid for it! I did call and confirm. The pick up time was at 235pm in front of an Indian restaurant, not the hotel as advertised, and my kids and I showed up there at 215pm to b on the safe side. We waited about 7 mins when a guy with a name list approached us and we were indeed on the list! He told us he was not the guy to pick us up and to wait there for a yellow minibus. We waited till 305pm while calling the office number incessantly without answer. Later that night I finally reach someone at that number who tells me her name is Sandra and she would investigate the issue and to call back the next morning for a refund. Next morning I call and the actual Sandra answers telling me it wasn’t her who spoke with me the prior day but her collegue gave me her name instead. I ask for a refund and she tells me I need to ask it of TripAdvisor for I book through them and also had the nerve to ask why didn’t I get in the weird dude’s van the prior day! DON’T use them !!! They also appear to be €12 pricier than the locals!!!

If you can swim and have a snorkel. Go to Cameo island and pay €5. Go through the bar down the steps and there has been one around the rocks there in August. Amazing experience as they only come up every 20mins take a gulp of air and go down again so you don’t see much from a boat.
