Our tour guide, André was very nice, funny, and knowledgeable about each winery we went to and the port wine process. Each winery was incredible and offered a slightly different experience, so we got to see small, medium, and large wineries. My partner and I traveled in a small group with four others: a group of friends and a solo traveler. Our group was great and we’re having a great time together by the end! The tour was well planned and the vineyards that you visit are excellent. This day trip is well worth the excursion from Porto - not just for the gorgeous views and tasty wines & ports (which are a given in the Douro), but especially for eFun's incredibly knowledgeable tour guide, who teaches you about the different wine regions and styles of Portugal, the history of Porto, the Douro, and the country, and recommended foods and restaurants to try.
It's a roomy van that fits 8 guests (2 seats up front with the driver, with 3 seats in the middle and 3 seats in the back). Note that the roads have quite a few twists and turns, but our tour guide was so considerate of making sure we were feeling ok.
The whole group stays together the entire tour, except for about one hour when the group that chose the 3 Vineyard tour goes off to the third winery while the 2 Vineyard + Rivercruise tour gets on the boat. Personally, I really enjoyed breaking up my day with the river cruise, because you already get quite a bit of wine (both dry table wine, and sweet port wines) at the two wineries without going to the third winery, and also because the views of the terraces while on the water are breathtaking - it almost felt like you were living in a painting. They also serve wine and port on the boat for purchase, for those that want to keep the buzz going.
The wineries themselves were thoughtfully selected. We were able to try both dry table wines (white, rose, and red) as well as ports (ruby, tawny, and vintage!), so you get quite a broad introduction to everything the Douro region does. One winery combined a wine tasting with lunch; it was cool pairing a port with our dessert. The two wineries we went to were small family owned wineries; the third winery that the 3 Winery/Vineyard tour went to was a bigger brand. One winery was able to ship out orders to the U.S. (shipping wasn't cheap but included duties and still was probably cheaper than if you could purchase the same product at a retailer in the States).
Before signing off, I must commend our tour guide, Pedro. It is obvious he is passionate about the Douro, Portugal, and his job - his energy was infectious and he was practically a walking encyclopedia when we asked him questions about port & wine making, Portugal's wine regions and history, and just general recommendations on what to do in Porto. He was very friendly and considerate and I would definitely recommend him to anyone for a tour in the Douro.

We had a wonderful, well-organized day with Julianna in the Doura Valley. She drove the comfortable Mercedes van safely and impressed us with her pleasant driving style.
During the trip she gave us a lot of information about the destinations we were heading to and impressed us with her great knowledge - but also her humor and her unmistakable love for the region.
The wineries we went to were small and privately run, and there was no impression of mass processing. The lunch was of good quality, tasted good and was well-portioned.
The river trip showed beautiful views of the Doura Valley.
We recommend both the trip and the company due to the high quality and good planning and would like to thank our friendly, attentive tour guide.

This was a lot of fun. Small group tour is definitely the way to go. We had 6 people and everyone became rather chatty after the first wine tasting stop. Vitor was a terrific guide with a good sense of humor. He sat with the group at lunch and was able to give us suggestions on places to see and what to eat while in Porto. We had some good wine and port. The only reason this is not five stars is that the air conditioning in the van wasn’t working. It got hot, especially in the back. Still, it was a good tour and a good time with a really good driver/guide.

I paid for a tour in Spanish and when I received the confirmation email they simply told me that I am the only one requesting it in that language and that they will not be able to accommodate my request.
They did not offer to refund my money or do the bilingual tour, only that if I needed something I could understand the guide.
Even after complaining to the platform, with which I booked the excursion, they offered me a bilingual tour... but it was all so disorganized and they are not really prepared to serve Spanish speakers.
Even so, I thank the people from the vineyards who, on their own initiative, made an effort to give me the explanation in Spanish, and the guides for their help.
In short: I lost my money, my day of travel and I am left with an unpleasant experience.
If you are a Spanish speaker DO NOT contract services with the Efun tourism agency.

I chose this winery tour specifically because unlike other one offered, it says it starts at 9 AM. Two days before the tour, they confirmed meeting at 9 AM. Then, less than 24 hours before, they changed to 8:30 AM; actually all guests were picked up by 8:40 AM.
The first winery was not very good at all. The guide went through a very scripted discussion, spending almost half of his time talking about their olive oils. It was not good quality olive oil (when I asked if it was early press, he quickly brushed it off to say no). I went to the bathroom on the way out, and heard another winery guide say the exact same spiel down to the same joke. We tasted three wines, which were bitter and not well produced. We ended with one port tasting there.
Then we were shuttled off to lunch, which was at a venue that hosted many, many other tour groups. The food was clearly mass produced, most people didn’t finish it. Then, instead of going to another winery, we stayed there for three port tastes.
The boat cruise was a waste of an hour, we just sat there while we went out on the river a bit and back. Normally I would’ve chosen another tour to avoid this, but again I thought this tour started at 9am.
Overall I can’t recommend this unless you just want a very basic overview of Duoro and don’t really care about wine or learning about port.

3 Canadians went on this tour and rated it at 3 out of 5. Why? The bus driver rated five out of five and we felt safe on the windy roads in the Duouro Valley. But there was 4 hours on the bus, little historic commentary, and our tour leader was charismatic but a bit weak on the facts. The boat tour would have been better if it had a running Commentary of historical content. Our guide did not.join is on the boat tour. The tastings were great, especially at the 300 year old estate from 1738. Very excellent informative from their representative. Lunch was adequate with mediocre wine, but was not sensational.

The group was very large (30+ people).
The guide did her best, but could have been better. She over-promised a bit about what was coming and her English wasn't strong enough to convey jokes or explain nuances.
Everything was also quite rushed. I couldn't keep up with the group (mainly Americans) drinking the wine, which made it a bit difficult for me to really enjoy it.
We are very happy that we saw the Douro Valley and the owner of the first winery was very passionate and gave a nice explanation together with his daughter.
I don't know whether the 1-hour boat trip was really an added value. The view was nice and it was nice to feel a breeze, but it was a big boat and on the way back on the bus the view was similar.

This is likely an incredible tour; sadly, we threw $350 down the drain as this is the first tour I have EVER missed (I’m always early to arrive) due to poor communication on the start time. This tour description, the company website, and the reminder email all list 9:00, which is what I found repeatedly when searching the night before. To be fair, they do communicate in a separate email that it is 8:30 at the time of booking. It’s just that that email is one from the five that says 8:30. So, we wasted $350 and, more importantly, the chance to see Douro on our last day in Porto. I highly recommend checking and noting the start time and that the company makes sure that all emails indicate the actual meeting time versus only one. Ironically, we were on our way (I mentioned I leave early), but we’re making sure we got more money to tip the guides.

Dear Amy, thank you for the time you took to write this review!
We are very sad for what happened and would like to apologise for any misunderstanding.
The fact is that indeed the tour says that starts at 09:00 am but for logistical reasons sometimes we have to start a bit earlier or later, that´s it´s stated on the observations that the tour might start up to 30 minutes earlier than 09:00 am.
Because of this reason we make sure to always contact every customer in order to confirm the starting time of the tour, wich was the case.
We sent you an email 4 days before the start of the tour informing that the tour would start at 08:30 am to wich you have confirmed. We make sure that we get the confirmation by all our guests in order to guarantee that everyone know the correct pickup time.
On the day of the tour we have called you at 08:33 am as everyone else was already at the meeting point exept you guys, to wich you have said you could only make it at 09:00 am, we have said that we could wait around 10 minutes, or even suggest a different pickup place at wich we could wait until around 08:50 am. You simply said you could not make it in time and that you wouldn´t be going on the tour.
We are very sorry that you didn´t come, but we like to make sure that nobody misses the tour even if sometimes we have to leave everyone waiting 10 minutes or more, it´s what we do, we always try to please everyone and make sure they have the best day possible in our company!
This being said next time you are back in Porto feel free to contact us, we will make sure you have the best day possible in our company!

The trip was amazing. I loved every stop during the tour. Our guide, Sara, was extremely knowledgeable and was genuinely interested in sharing her experiences. She did a great job of including everyone in the party of 18. The local people we met also received Sara very well which tells me she does well on a consistent basis. Her command of the English language is great! I would recommend this trip to others based on my experience. One thing I hope is based on an error where I booked the trip twice for the same day is that I am refunded my one reservaton.
