Wonderful way to see Douro Valley
This was a great way to spend the day. We loved it! Started with a quick stop in Amarante, then on to lunch in the Douro Valley. That felt a bit touristy, with all the buses pulling in and being sat at these long tables. But the food was very good and the view was pretty. The winery stop and short boat ride were very nice. Beautiful scenery the entire day. Would highly recommend this trip.

    Fantastic!!
Great tour and history of the city. Our guide was very knowledgable and well versed. Definitely recommend this tour and suggest the add on of lunch. The boat trip option was nice but not really all that informative.

Douro Valley full day trip with lunch, two estates and river cruise
This was a wonder wonderful way to experience the Douro Valley. Our guide was full of history and stories and attentive. We are very disappointed for one reason. We had a port tasting at Alves de Sousa. Delicious. We bought three bottles of port. Christina, our wine guide, said it was okay to bring back port. She said we could take two per person. It was never discussed if we were checking in luggage or carry on. Anyway, we had carry on. Some airport official is going to enjoy our port, not us. We are out 31 euros and that special port which you cannot buy in the US. Amy and Joe

Easy and interesting half day trip
We wanted to see outside of Porto and a half day suited us with a 10 year old in tow. Paulo was a great host, knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. Aveiro is an interesting little town, not sure it's comparable to Venice however!

It was delightful in spite of the rain. Great way to meet other travelers. Sharing a table with others a good idea. The food and wine was good.

    Oporto Six Bridges Cruise
The situation was appalling when we attempted to use our pre booked ticket resulting in our failure to get on a boat at all, despite promises of “ no problem” repeated regularly by the staff. The entire performance was a problem. In fairness it was very wet and people were milling around the departure kiosk in numbers, worsened by a number of “groups” who were given priority each time. The situation near the boarding gangplank became acutely dangerous as a number of large visitors from a variety of countries began to press and push and to maintain safety we extricated ourselves and made complaint to the staff on the kiosk who shrugged their shoulders and asked if we wanted to try another day. The fact that our ticket was for a specific day and we were leaving the following morning seemed not to bother them. No refund appeared possible at the time. I strongly urge visitors to Porto not to use this attraction. Our conclusion is that it was rubbish, accentuated perhaps by the fact that we could not safely board a boat!

    Nice and useful
Very nice walk with Jazmin who showed us many major points of interest in Porto, shared their history and also took the time to give some useful tips like how to use the metro, which bus to take to go to the beach, etc. An excellent tour to start your Porto trip and select the landmarks you wish to visit more in details later on.

Porto Tuk Tuk Ride (Historic Centre)
We booked the Porto Tuk Tuk Ride (Historic Centre) through Living Tours and the supplier was listed as Douro Acima. When we arrived at the Tuk Tuk start at the time designated on our tickets - we were told we were booked by Living Tours for a time other than on our tickets. We were supposed to have a two person electric Tuk Tuk.The Tuk Tuk company went out of its way to accommodate us in light of Living Tours mistake. We got a Tuk Tuk ride but it was with a another family in an old gasoline Tuk Tuk - much like riding in an old lawn mower that stalled frequently. As for the tour itself - it is a good way to see Porto which has some very steep streets - but there isn't that much to see,

Great way to see the valley
I really enjoyed this full-day tour, was a little worried about how long it was, but we got to see a lot and it was quite relaxing and balanced. We saw great views from the bus and boat ride. The lookout was fantastic and we had a nice lunch and wine tasting. The bus was comfortable, although the ride is a bit windy so if you easily get car sick then I suggest bringing something for motion sickness or sitting towards the front. The only thing I would change would be the size. The group on the bus was about 30 which was fine, but for the lunch, boat ride, and wine tour, we met up with other tour groups and it became quite large. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant, he gave the perfect amount of historic information and we found it very interesting. Worth the money for a great way to see all of the valley.

    VERY DISAPPOINTING
Booked this with the hotel as love to do a river cruise but was very disappointing. Supposed to be an hour cruise down the river with a free Port Tasting to be taken when you wanted. Arriving at the pontoon joined the line of folks waiting but no member of staff from the boat company there and just as the boat arrived tour groups arrived and just marched to the front so total chaos! Tour down the river the whole guided tour was done in Portuguese, and I know you are in Portugal but do not think there was a single Portuguese person on the boat. This meant that most got off at the other side of the river and seemed unsure where to go. Arrived at the place for the Port tasting to be informed that the boat company should have given us a ticket but did not see anyone given anything! Total chaos and felt like it was just a case of pile as many on and off as quickly as possible with no other customer service!

Wonderful day trip to Portuguese historical landmark cities
This was one of several guided tours that we took during our trip and it was one of the best. Our guide was an excellent driver (and parker) who took us on a very formative and enjoyable tour. He fitted much more in that I would have thought possible, covering very interesting sites, giving us much historic information and giving us enough free time to manage on our own. He managed to get us included in the group lunch even though we had not pre-booked it. He managed everything extremely well. I knew little of the sites or the history of them but came away with much information and a desire to learn more. An outstanding tour!

Seeing Porto, Gaia and its bridges was very enjoyable.
We picked a cool, overcast and windy day for this cruise. For €15 per person, I did not expect much, but it really was an interesting and relaxing tour. My big mistake was sitting within 6 feet of a massive speaker on the open air deck. It was easy to hear and understand as they played short blurbs about the bridges and sights in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. They cruised up the Douro then down it to catch the Arribada bridge. You could see the Afurada fishing village and the rabelo boat shipyard. Fresh views of both Porto and upper Gaia as well as the ranked heights of Bonfim and the old train track to Campanha, which they hope to make a commuter bike trail. Well done! Oh yes there is a bar on the lower level.

A first rate all round tour - a well balanced, informative overview of the Douro valley
We were picked up in our minibus on one of the worst days for Porto - 8 passengers in total in the minibus with a great driver/tour guide who kept us informed and entertained despite frustration with being stuck in traffic (Oporto north side and Nova Gaia south side of the Douro have only four bridge crossings and hardly any public transport for the million communting daily). Once on our way (and we saw lots of interesting extras dodging around back streets or while waiting to cross a bridge, a bonus!) the various stops were well chosen and worth while and the outline history/background gave a much better understanding of the area from huge modern bridges, pre-history and the Napoleonic wars than my guide books. The view from Galafura was stunning indeed. The scenic drive along the N222 saved us having to do it ourselves and the boat trip just as enjoyable as you would hope (some port and beer could be purchased on board). October weather was perfect, I would not want to do this in the extreme heat of summer in the valley. The tasting at the Winery was informative too and gave a feel for global investment in port production over the centuries - and the real struggle for vines and wineries to survive. I highly recommend this tour, personal and professional and good value.
