We had been told Portugal was a place that didn’t need a travel agent - but our 50+ page Road book and self drive itinerary begs to differ. Our experience booking our honeymoon with Joel was pure luxury… thoughtfully planned with attention to detail (down to booking our hotel rooms over an adults only pool since it was our honeymoon). The booking process was very easy, like chatting to a friend whilst also being highly professional. This continued during the trip, Joel would always check in to see how we were going and if he could help. The result was a holiday where every minute relaxing, authentic, customised to interests and included parts of Portugal we never would have thought of going to. Highlight was our walking/driving tour of Lisboa with Joel who has so much knowledge and is genuinely passionate about sharing his hometown. Whilst our accommodation was locked in, all our decisions of what to do or eat was entirely flexible. The guide book Joel put together included 2-3 recommendations for each location, totally removing any decision paralysis or going anywhere that felt “too touristy”. All recommendations that we chose were 10/10. Short of making this review a novel I would strongly urge you to book with Joel, particularly if it is a special occasion where you want a perfect holiday.

Sister, brother-in-law and we spent 4 days in Lisboa with My Lisbon Holidays. This was my second time to book a tour with Tomas. Now it's Southern Portugal. Joel and Tiago,  our guides were very knowledgeable, professional, helpful and very  patient in showing interesting places. Both of them made it feasible and easy for my mother in law despite of her mobility problems. She was given special attention ( stool, wheel chair and assistance  ) by Joel and especially Tiago who danced with my mom with macarena in each stop we made. They made our trip full of fun and memories.  All our accommodations were superb. Both Joel and Tiago showed the Gems of Portugal places and Food ( seafoods). They made our lunch reservations before we arrive to our destinations. All reservations have great food, locations, views and good choices of seafoods ( all kinds of fish, barnacles, super big prawns crabs, clams, oysters, wine, regional desserts and Sangria ) Tomas was very kind. I admired him for his professionalism I will highly recommend this Travel company.

It was a wonderful experience to visit Lisbon. Thank Joel and My Lisbon Holidays for the great planning and execution. Joel seems to know everything and everywhere about Lisbon, which makes his plans perfect for the first time visitors like my wife and me. He is patient, thoughtful and with good driving skills. We also enjoyed the hotel, the small restaurant Fado show and sunset sailing Joel arranged. Our day trip with Joel was the highlight of our trip! We made a very last minute decision (the day before) to book a trip up the coast instead of spending another day in Lisbon. Joel, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating of our requests. He gave us ample time for stops for snacks and bathroom breaks and he was great at dropping us off in one location with instructions for a short walk to pick us up down the road a bit. The luxury sedan was spotless and very comfortable. Joel knew the history of the area and was very informative. We saw so much more than we would have on our own as he made parking and finding things much easier. He also knew of a beautiful spot for lunch and he called ahead to make our reservation. Tomas at the tour office was very accommodating setting up our last minute request, but we were lucky! We would urge you to call to book private day trips well in advance so as not to miss this incredible experience.

Our guide/ Portuguese ambassador Joel was phenomenal! He took us to all the main historic sites but also to the most amazing “off the beaten path” locations with amazing views. The restaurants we visited were local with genuine Portuguese cuisine of fresh fish, cheeses, bread and wine, simply delicious!!! We had one cloudy/rainy day and he switched things around so that despite the weather we got the most out of the day. We continued on to Porto on our own once the 3 day tour was done and Joel provided us valuable feedback on points of interest in northern Portugal. Joel was knowledgeable and you could see his passion and love for the history and sites of his country. Totally recommend this experience!!!

Our family had a one day stop in Lisbon during a Disney cruise. Our home travel agent set us up for a day tour of the city with My Lisbon Holidays. None of us (Parents, Kids, and Grandparents) had spent any time in Lisbon prior and did not know what to see. When we met our guide, Joel Oliveira, that morning he had the day set for us (while being open to our desires). Joel was fantastic. We travel a great deal and he was one of the best guides we’ve ever had tour us. And the city is beautiful. We all wished we had spent more time, but Joel did a great job helping us feel like we’d experienced Lisbon in just one day.

From the moment Joel met us, our tour of Sintra and Lisbon was super! He was very knowledgeable, informative and showed us a side of Sintra that was unique from the typical tour. From there, we travelled on to Cascais, Quincho Beach, Old town and much more. Joel was very personal and attentive to what we were interested in. I highly recommend him!

From US to Porto to Lisbon was a memorable trip of a lifetime for my birthday celebrating with my friends and my lovely wife. The places are all beautiful and all the foods - salads entrees, seafoods and desserts are amazingly delicious. Our hotel in Porto and hotel in Lisbon ( Casa Balthazar ) is superb and with a magnificent view of the city. Not an ordinary hotel room. Very homey with daily breakfast served in your room. Both hotels are located in the heart of the city. Our tour guide Joel of “ mylisbonholidays” is a perfect tour guide and our driver for 7 days. We actually had a seven -day tour which started at Porto and went all the way down to Lisbon and near-by town. It was a private tour we arranged with My Lisbon Holidays and they did an excellent job. Our Guide in Porto was Tiago for a day and the rest was with Joel. They were very knowledgeable indeed of the history. Hotel was marvelous! D. Garcia

We loved our tour of Estadio do Sport with Joel. The stadium is beautiful and exciting, even when empty, and the tour experience lets you see the full scope of it and feel the energy. My 7 year old son is now a Benfica fan! Joel told us interesting facts about the team, its history, and traditions. The museum adjacent to the stadium is also worth at least half a day. All in all, this experience was the highlight of my son's 9 day stay touring all around Portugal!

My Lisbon Holidays - 3-night Private Tour with Luxury Apartment: We selected a Lisbon tour package with My Lisbon Tours offered by Viator through Trip Advisor. With a specific interest in architecture and art, we requested a change of sites for one of our tour days and My Lisbon Holidays was most accommodating. Guide: We were met at the airport by our lovely tour guide, Bart Santos, who is himself a Lisbon artist. Our shared interests and Bart's knowledgeable and professional guidance enhanced our trip. The pace of the tour, the information and history provided as well as experience of the local culture and food provided a delightful holiday experience. Accommodation Included: Our accommodation was in the historic Chiado district in a renovated apartment building, 3rd floor, with elevator. It was spacious. The area was very walkable, with restaurants, cafes, shops, metro and a grocery nearby. The apartment had wonderful large windows in the living room facing the street that we could open and enjoy the sights and sounds of the district. Tour: Lisbon and surrounding towns are history rich and post-card beautiful. The food is delicious, especially seafood and pastries, and the people very friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer.
