We finished a tour of the Portuguese UNESCO sites with Goncalo as a couple in 2023. We were impressed and decided to use his services again when we planned to do the Portugese Way, Camino de Santiago, with our friends. There are 7 of us with an age gap of more than 2 decades between the youngest and oldest members. We had a range of fitness levels with 2 marathon runners, one who has difficulty walking uphill, one who has multiple joint pains and the rest falls in between. Some of us wanted the comfort of hotel rooms, others preferred to stay at rental apartments. Having Goncalo made it possible for us to walk the Camino as a group without comprising on our preferences. He would drive us to the starting point of each segment of the walk each day, advised us where to get the stamps for the Camino certificates, meet us for breaks to update us, give commentaries about the different locations and provide support to those of us who had trouble along the walk. He made sure we did not go hungry! It was indeed comforting to have him support us as we were caught in the rain for at least half of our time on our Camino ( a friend told us it was the remnants of a hurricane ). Even those of us with medical challenges managed to reach our own goals. And we enjoyed the walk and the company despite the weather. Goncalo was such a blessing. Thanks, Goncalo!

We - a group of 3 couples - had a private car service from Porto to Lisbon with 2 stops along the way. We elected a stop in Nazare and Obidos. Our driver/guide, Gonçalo Oliveira, was fabulous. From pre-transfer communication to arriving on time, providing excellent facts and conversation about the areas, to allowing us the time needed at both locations. He was professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. We had a fabulous day in comfort instead of getting to/from the train with luggage in tow, and were able to visit 2 spots on our agenda freeing up a day for exploration of Lisbon. I strongly recommend Windland Tours, especially if you need to get from Porto to Lisbon or vice versa.

Took this private tour as well as a full day at Porto with Goncalo. His professionalism is unparalleled, his storytelling about Portugal's history was most enjoyable, we wanted more. Very friendly. Well deserved praise for a job well done. We highly recommend him and his team to anyone travelling to Portugal.

Our experience was incredible. It was such a pleasure to have Vera as our guide. I had a feeling that we were able to see more than other visitors, find all those hidden symbols. It is precious when you meet people like Vera who are so passionate and have amazing personality. I am sure my visit would not be so enjoyable if it was not for her. I highly recomend this tour.

He adjusts the schedule to suit the physical fitness of his clients and is considerate. We will not hesitate to use his services again if we visit the region. In fact, we hope to do the Camino with him with our friends next year.

My family and I (2 adults, 3 kids - 17/14/11) had an amazing day with Vera. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The tour was well paced, we never felt rushed or bored. Vera was a safe driver and by the end of the trip we said goodbye to a friend. Highly recommend!

The three monuments were amazing and truly worth a visit. Our tour guide Gonçalo was very knowledgeable and nice. He gave us plenty of good stories about the monuments and the cities we visited, recommended good picture spots for our family. I will definitely recommend.

We booked 4 days of private tours with this company (including Lisbon, Porto, Fatima, Obidos , Cascais, Sintra and Nazare) at the suggestion of our travel agent. In the USA. Our guide from Windland was tremendous, and possessed encyclopedic knowledge, yet he was personable and fun. The pricing was reasonable for this type of service. My wife had a question about Christmas decorations and our guide researched the best places to go and we made a brief but great side trip that was remarkably fun. I believe our trip was made great by our choice of guide and their recommendations.

Never in all my travels have I experienced a guide so knowledgeable and so willing to go that extra mile. The guide to traveler relationship usually ends there, but I can honestly say that we came out of our day with more than just a thorough tour of Fatima, Alcobaca, Batalha, and Obidos, photos and stories of the sites, and an excitement for these places she visits regularly, we left with someone I would now consider a friend. If you are in need of a guide, I couldn’t recommend her more.

Goncalo had great stories and insight into the life and times of the kings and queens of 100s of years ago. He brings history alive. I can’t say enough good things about Windland Tours and owner Gonçalo! Gonçalo worked with me to develop a custom day itinerary for my husband and I that included pickup in Lisbon, stops at Óbidos, Alcobaça Monastery, Batalha Monastery, Tomar’s Convent of Christ and the Templar Castle with drop-off at Fatima. Incredible sights and amazing history, and the day was exactly what we wanted! Gonçalo did all the work and we sat back and enjoyed a safe, comfortable ride. Another important note: Gonçalo stayed with us at every stop. This is not a drop-off service, but personalized attention and guiding in the monuments too. It is like touring with a friend that wants to take care of you and ensure a perfect visit. The next day, Gonçalo transferred us from Fatima to Porto and easily adjusted to a last-minute request too. Perfect service! I am already thinking about our next Portugal trip with Windland Tours.

Our guide, Vera, is amazing! And even though she's a historian that knows her stuff, the pace and delivery of the information was clear, not too much to get any information overload, and delivered in a manner that could pass off as a National Geographic narrator. We especially love the narrated history at Tomar in such a dramatic manner. We covered the 3 UNESCO sites and she was so nice to throw in an extra site because we said we had no time to slot it into our hectic Portugal itinerary, which was a very nice personal touch. We paid extra to be dropped-off in Lisbon and we kept recalling back her stories whenever we visited other parts of historical Lisbon as alot of their history are connected. That's the power of Vera's history delivery as we'd probably forget most of the information compared to other tour guides we've experienced. I would highly recommend this tour, and you'd be in for a treat if you get Vera as your guide!
