Nice Guide, but Misleading and Frustrating Tour Description
My wife and I booked this tour through Trip Advisor and selected it among many tours based on the description and it matching what we were looking for...which was a fun small group tour with fewer people so we could get the most out of our last day in Portugal and see the sites we purposely skipped up to this point so we could see them during this tour and not overlap. The tour description on Trip Advisor of what to expect said the following: - Travel easily and stress-free to Sintra and Cascais - Enjoy a mix of guided activities and free time - Receive personalized attention in a small group limited to eight Well none of this was really true... the stress occurred with the confusion by the staff of who paid what, what tour each person had selected and several calls by the employee who picked us up to the “boss” to figure out what was going on. On top of that our bus driver was yelling at other drivers and buses because they had him blocked in, got too close or was in his way during congested areas which was not exactly comforting when it appeared our driver was experiencing a bit of road rage. Nonetheless, he got us safely to our destination so I will give him that. As for the mix of guided and free time activities...that is true, but after our “2nd half of the day trip” guide showed up to meet our group 30 mins late. She claims it was due to a marathon that was happening and streets were being blocked. I believe her and she seemed nice enough, but I have lived in cities with marathons and ran many road races myself and there is always notice when an event like this is going and cities always encourage locals to prepare in advance and tell them what roads will be blocked and which will be open. Seems like a tour company should monitor these things and not leave over 14 guests standing in the rain waiting 30 mins without anyone contacting any of us to let us know what was going on. I, among others, tried to call Joaquin who was listed as the contact on the ticket with no answer. Seems like if he is the contact he should be ready to answer his phone in time of need. As for the last point, it clearly says “a group limited to 8”. We had 17 to start and 14 that continued on to the full day tour. We picked this tour with hopes of having a more calm and low key group to spend the day with. Instead we spent tons of time waiting for everyone, the guide did her best but translated all the information in the tour in 3 different languages strung together and definitely did not have time for us to ask questions or feel the personalized attention. Lastly, the description said “First up is Pena National Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site characterized by lemon-yellow domes and pink walls. Tour the palace with your small group before heading to the Palace of Queluz. Next, you’ll have ample time to explore another UNESCO-listed area: the historic center of Sintra.” All of this was true, except it was the National Palace in Sintra and not the Palace of Queliz. When we asked the guide she blamed Trip advisor for putting the wrong Palace. This was not a huge deal, but I would be upset if I picked this tour specifically wanting to go to the Palace of Queliz and the tour did not take me there. All in all.. this last issue was not a big factor for us, but when all the other things occurred i felt it was worth mentioning. Net net... due to our frustrations with all that occurred prior and the final straw being the late tour guide, my wife and I decided to cut our losses and take the train back from Sintra versus continuing on to Cascais. Based on reading some of the other negative responses and the replies I expect to get a similar response disputing these facts from the tour company leadership. However, I am a truthful tourist that expects to get what is described and worth the money I spent and this tour was not the case.

Memory of a lifetime
Booked one day in advance, I was trying to fill am empty day. It turned out to be 10 hours of wonderful sightseeing with a fantastic guide (Luis). This ranks with the best day tours I’ve ever taken (Seoul & Zurich). Pena Palace is the absolute highlight of Lisbon (other than the food). I am thankful they were able to accommodate a last-minute booking.

Doesn't Get Much Better
Go with Louis - he's the best. Great all-day session and would do again. The palace was great but the rest of the trip was as good or better. If in Lisbon - go!

Complete tour with an amazing guide
We booked this tour and every aspect of it was outstanding. They emailed us the day before to confirm pick up. They made sure our 10 month was accommodated for. Our guide Maria was amazing. She told us about the history of the area, discussed the important sights, recommended places to eat, and all while navigating the narrow and curvy streets. This tour hit all the major sites, explained the history, and importance of the various areas and with the convenience of hotel pick up. Highly recommend.

Great tour full of laughs!
If you want to laugh and feel like you know your tour guide; then this is the tour for you! Joaquim (Or J lo) was absolutely amazing and definitely was full of knowledge. He didn’t walk us to the sites, but I like that he gave us free time to explore on our own so that we could get our own feel for the different towns. He definitely had great suggestions for places to eat and even gave great recommendations for Lisbon as well!

Good views, bad tour.
The places you visit on the route are very charming and worth visiting, but would highly recommend taking a different tour. This is more of a hire car than a tour. The driver, Alexandre (who’s stories are very difficult to follow as he drives the van) drops you off at each location with no actual “tour” and wants you to report back at the vehicle very shortly after. Feels very rushed at most spots. *Important: NOTHING is included in price other than your transportation. You will need to pay for each palace separately, including a bus at the second one, an additional €52. You will have the same experience if not better with any other tour, would not recommend.

Fantastic experience!
I would recommend this tour to anyone! J.Lo was an amazing guide telling us so many interesting facts which we would not be able to read anywhere. The views were the best- we went to Sintra (Palace and the village), Cascais, the Inferno Gates and Gabo da Roca- great views and worth every penny to experience it. Thank you Joaquim for all your tips and making our holiday special !

Wonderful day trip
It was a last minute decision to take this tour, and I'm so glad I did. Joaquim was an excellent guide, and exuded enthusiasm and love for his country. We were small group of just 8 people, which was great, and ample time was given to visit Pena Palace and Sintra. Great also to be able to spend time in Cascais. All up our tour lasted 11 hours - we saw so much and did not feel at all rushed. Would highly recommend this tour.

As the title suggest, the tour was excellent!
The tour was fantastic. Alex was very informative and recommended what to see and eat during our free time. I was contacted by the tour one day beforehand by email to note the time of pick up at our hotel. The pickup was a bit late, but understandable as there was a lot of traffic. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this tour if you only have a day to see Portugal!

Absolutely Perfect Tour of Pena Palace, Sintra and Cascais!!!
Our tour guide was William (his Portuguese name is Guilherme, but he told us we could call him William as this is easier to pronounce!). He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Portugal's vast history, and I learned so much about so many different aspects of Portuguese culture. He is literally a walking encyclopaedia when it comes to Portugal! My accommodation wasn't the easiest to find, and I was a bit worried that he wouldn't be able to find it but he arrived on time so that was a great start to the tour. Our first stop was Pena Palace, which, let me tell you, was beautiful and magical beyond anything you see online, definitely one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life! Then we had a stop in Sintra town for lunch, which was nice. Unfortunately I didn't get to see much of Sintra town, as I (unlike the other two people on the tour) had decided to go inside the Pena Palace so I started lunch a bit later and didn't have that much time to see Sintra. Then we went to Cabo da Roca in Cascais, which was gorgeous. Afterwards we went to Boca do Inferno (Hell's mouth) and then to Cascais town. Honestly, if you want to discover Portugal in a relaxed and interesting way, I would definitely recommend this tour, it was the highlight of my time in Lisbon!!!
