          Best tour
The villages were stunning, deep in history beauty. Our local guide Xavier was extremely knowledgeable and a wealth of local information, culture and products. He made sure the tour covered all our interests, and gave us all kinds of information. Not just the local products but the story on why they are so unique. There so many different opportunities in each village if one wanted to explore them all. Just a fantastic tour highly recommend.

          Fun trip!
Xavier and Bia were extremely knowledgeable, and explain very well, the procedure to make spumante, brandy and sangria. While going to the cellar we had the opportunity to see a wonderful exhibition from different parts of the world, which I appreciated very much. And after we went to another place where we got to taste four different types of wines. It was a lovely afternoon and worth going, I got more than what I expected.

Springs of living water - Conimbriga
This was the highlite of our trip to Portugal. To imagine being in a first century city of such wealth that endured for four centuries and that ended with such a heroic and massive defence. The mosaic floors were dazzling and the extensive garden fountain still working after all these centuries was a marvel. Alfredo was the most knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. He engages with the people working at the museums and at the archeological site.

          Pretty villages
The villages themselves are beautiful. Be prepared for lots of steep hills and climbing. You will see about 3 of the 27 villages. I feel this is a trip you could do by yourself. Wonderful viewpoints from the top of the mountain

Country living in a harsh landscape
Great way to see the mountain forest with a purpose. The buildings are artistically assembled and lovingly maintained thanks to government initiative and touristic visitation.

          A great half day out.
The Schist villages are fascinating and the landscape beautiful and restful. Xavier was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about the history, engaging and attentive to our needs and wishes. We can highly recommend this tour.

          Great tour and tour guide.
I thought this tour was fascinating. Xavier is the best tour guide I have ever had. He was so knowledgable and informative. He was punctual in collecting us from an easy to find meet up point. Very comfortable car. The three villages we visited were quite different to each other and all very interesting. Loved this half day tour!

          Great experience!
Really great highlight of our trip to Portugal! The cycling was quite hard (big hill getting out of Coimbra) but the bikes are really good quality so we just took our time and were rewarded with the views over the valley, small towns and the Roman ruins. Stopped for an espresso and pastel de nata in a town we would never otherwise have gone through. Recommend fully!

          Coimbra excursion
The trip was amazing and our guide was as well. Beautiful sandy beaches and a relaxing boat ride. Made us want to spend more time in the area.

          Great guide & charming tour
Great half day tour to lovely Aveiro, and Costa Nova. Both charming places. The Costa Nova houses are a must see, so bright and colorful. The guide was very good and was engaging and personable. He explained all the history & places of interest along the way. Certainly a good way to see such places.

          Excellent tour!
We had a very nice morning tour from Coimbra. Our guide was Xavier. He picked us up and dropped us off at our front door which was very helpful. He shared a lot of information about the area. The Moliceiro boat ride was very pleasant. We stopped at 2 beaches: Barra and Costa Nova, a good place for vacation. We liked the local pastry with a rich filling that Xavier offered at the end of our tour. Thank you, Xavier.

Bike ride through Central Portugal - Fantastic!
This is a fantastic activity that is not too physically taxing. The ride is long - 30 miles - but 85% gentle down hill. FUN!

Xavier picked us up at our hotel in Coimbra and took us on a delightful trip through the countryside, We had ample time to visit the Knoghts Templar castle along with several monasteries and convents. In addition he stopped so we could climb stairs and get a top level view of an aqueduct. Besides castles and monasteries we saw the big waves at Nazare and walked the streets of Obidos,

The highlight for us was our guide, Xavier. he went above and beyond what would one would expect, especially since we booked it with a misconception that it was a guided tour. it was not, it was only a transfer and that was our fault. Xavier took us to the areas that we signed up for and gave us knowledge of the stops as best he could. he was fun to be with, very accommodating. and showed us a good time while educating us also. he made the trip a better experience than we deserved.
