About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- V9519REashleyh0 contributionsEnjoy strolling along the river and touring port wine housesArthur was a wonderfully informative guide. He was social and conversing was pleasant. The sites were beautiful and the wine tour was amazing. We enjoyed walking along the river and buying crafts from the vendors. Lunch was very good. The best white port wine I've ever had. My family and I really enjoyed this experience.Written 18 November 2024
- 556sirab0 contributionsDay trip to PortoWe had an incredible day in the city of Porto with our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide Arthur. The visit to the port wine cellars was interesting and enjoyable. Arthur then took us to a non touristy restaurant where the food was delicious. Porto is charming with stunning views from several spots. Would highly recommend this tour noting it’s a very long day. Thanks again Arthur.Written 13 July 2024
- NYCdude0 contributionsGreat Experience! If you are looking for a private tour to the algarve coast, I’d highly recommend this 3 day excursion. Our guide, Phillip, was friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to understand what we wanted to see and eat and adjusted the day accordingly. We took enough breaks each day so it didn’t seem like we were in the van for long periods of time. The hotel was located on a golf course which was quite nice. Overall, it was a great experience for myself and 3 friends. I would recommend requesting Phillip if you decide to book this excursion.Written 10 June 2024
- juliewI968UZ0 contributionsAn excellent visual spectacle, moving and informative. Do go see."Photo city: How images shape the urban world" An excellent exhibition at Dundee V&A. Luckily it's on till Oct so no excuse to miss it. Beautifully curated collection of stirring images and videos. Many highlights but No 1 for me was the photo-collage of Dundee by japanese artist Sohei Nishino. The video of him introducing the work is worth a visit itself.Written 28 April 2024
- Discover386326715340 contributionsObidos, don't miss it!I selected to do only Obidos and I am glad that I did. Nothing felt rushed. I love Medieval towns, especially walled cities. If you aren't afraid of heights you can walk the 3 km atop the walls that encircle the village. There is an excellent book store there inside a church, lots of little shops, and few nice restaurants and all around cool place.Written 28 December 2023

- 461geraldinel0 contributionsA WONDERFUL TOUR WITH FIRST CLASS SERVICE ALL THE WAY.The tour was amazing - so informative and professional, yet in a relaxed and friendly way. We visited interesting and beautiful places, it has given us memories which we will never forget. We are very grateful our wonderful guide, Hugo, who gave us the best tour experience possible. Everything was first class. Hugo went above and beyond expectations when he delivered my son-in-laws sunglasses (left in the back of his car) back to our hotel the following night, we are very appreciative of his kind gesture. Do not hesitate to book a tour with this company, they provide 'high end' service and they will meet your expectations without question.Written 3 September 2023

The scenery was very beautiful and the places we visited were all very interesting. Our private guide Hugo was amazing, very knowledgeable about the history of all the sites, great driver, very attentive of our needs and very professional. - jennycxu0 contributionsUnforgettable experience and amazing guideThis tour was impeccable from the moment we got picked up! Philippe was an amazing guide and also became a friend by the end of the trip - he knew his way around the city and showed up promptly in his super comfortable van. We loved how much he shared along the drive and even once we got to the city we got to hang out and customize the trip based on what we wanted to see. Lunch was amazing and the food was great, super large portion sizes and we could order whatever we wanted and got a lot of wine! The wine tasting for us was at the very end and it was just a great way to end the whole thing. The whole day was very full of activity and having Philippe there made it way more fun and planned than what we would have done on our own.Written 3 June 2023
- KimtheNetherlands0 contributionsHighly Recommend! Fantastic private tours catered to our needs, for multiple locations in PortugalWe actually did three days of private tours with Knight Riders Tourism: one day private tour of Lisbon, one day in Oporto, and one day in Sintra and Caiscais. I was traveling with my two elderly parents (over 80) and wanted private tours so that we could travel comfortably and adjust to my parent's energy levels, and get us as close to all the sights as possible. Our guide was Hugo, and not only was he great in explaining all the history and significant sights that we saw, he was also a great driver and drove us as close to the many sights as possible, as well as facilitating our getting ahead in the queues to avoid my father having to wait in long lines. It was an amazing experience, and we were able to see much more and more comfortably than had we done it with a larger group or by ourselves. Well worth it!! Thank you Knight Riders Tourism and thank you Hugo!!Written 22 May 2023
- U5832NOmichaelt0 contributionsThe warmth of the Portuguese people, food, & culture!I would like to send a special thank you “Obrigada” to my very knowledgeable travel/tour guide Mr. Hugo (see in photos below)! His knowledge of the history and cultures of Portugal was above reproach. He’s a highly skilled motorist and was adept in moving throughout the Portuguese countryside all the while speaking with me and sharing his experiences, knowledge of history and background during the tour. If you aren't staying over in Porto but still would love to see it on your trip to Portugal you should highly consider taking this one day trip. Our driver/tour guide, Susanna was absolutely amazing. We learned a lot about the culture and the cities and what it is like living in Portugal. She was obviously proud of her heritage and her country and we enjoyed the drive of about 3 hours to Porto. It is a lovely city and she helped us navigate a boat trip on the Douro, the tasting at the cellars, we strolled and ate roasted chestnuts along the waterfront, we went to the Cathedral, she gave us recommendations for lunch, we visited the Lello bookstore and the train station with the beautiful tile work. She asked questions of what our interests were and it was like visiting with a friend. It was relaxed and a day that will stand out in a wonderful trip. Knight Riders tours has a great guide in Susanna and those that have her as their guide to the city will be very lucky indeed! I would reiterate, if you can't stay the night, consider the day trip....it is a long day but worth every moment.

The rain didn't stop us from having a great trip to Porto in December. We got picked up by Daniel bright and early at our hotel and drove up to Porto. On the way we passed by vineyards which were off season. Probably beautiful in the spring. Porto was a beautiful city and our guide was helpful and informative. Lovely sites of the city, churches and views of the city from the tower (lots of steps so beware!). Our lunch was not as Daniel had planned but was at a small restaurant serving the locals (our preferred way to go!).
We finished our tour at the Calem Port company for an hour tour and explanation of the making of Port wine (did you know that it is made outside of Porto!). Sadly because it was raining and also in December, we didn't get a chance to do much more before we headed back home.
Great day trip!

Our driver was just that, a driver. He knew nothing and admitted to us he knew nothing and that he wasn't a good guide, but a good driver. He did take us to a port winery and that was nice. He then drove us out of town for lunch and the place was definitely authentic and good. We then drove back to town and had about an hour to walk around then headed back to Lison. Definitely not worth it. He knew nothing about Porto. He told us 3 times it was built on a hill so there are a lot of steps there. I could have told you that. Oh well. It would have been better had we trained up and stayed on our own and gone out the the Duoro Valley on our own.

The driver and our guide Daniel was great, he got us to Porto and back fast. He also has good insight on the cities and history and took us to a great place for lunch.
Only reason I am giving 3 stars is we weren't convinced if we got our money worth, Porto is good (not great or excellent)but not worth spending as much money
