Street Art with Joao in Lisbon!
Incredible tour. One if the most educational, eye opening tours I have taken. To understand all about street art in Lisbon and to explore many nieghboods that show how the art changes to reflect the area. Leaning about taggers and artist that contribute to this amazing city. Its was such a great tour with Joao. His passion and knowlege about the artist and their work really was amazing. What a grest time!

You’ll never look at street art in the same way again. We’ll worth 3 hours.
Our thoughtful guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Lisbon street art. When we travel we usually hire an art historian to guide us through museums to understand the artists and their works. This tour was the same experience (with a twist). We knew nothing about the vast culture of street art. The history and origins, the statements being made by the artists and unique identifying characteristics of the art (not dissimilar to the traditional masters found in museums worldwide). This tour was enlightening, enjoyable and I highly recommend it.

Guru Free Walking Tour of Lisbon
Our Guru free walking tour guide Joana was fantastic…she was very knowledgeable about Lisbon…we visited four sections of old Lisbon…treated us to the most fabulous pastry and was caring for all participants…she also recommended local Portugal restaurants which we since enjoyed…highly recommend using Joana for your next trip to Lisbon.

    Fabulous Art Walk
Fabulous walk around the city viewing interesting & beautiful street art. Leith was an awesome guide that shared amazing stories of the artists & his city. Loved the stop with Anne the local artist that creates wonderful scenes in minutes with the stroke of her brush. Highly recommend this walk. Wear good shoes & bring water you will cover lots of streets & steps of unique neighborhoods.

Friendly and knowledgeable guide, excellent way to learn more about Street Art and see the city of Lisboa.
Our guide Laith was very friendly and knowledgeable, both about the Street Art and the city itself. He gave us great insight into the different artists, their styles, techniques, potential interpretation, and evolution of their work, as well as a unique view of the city and its history. I don't know much about Street Art culture, so you don't have to be an expert to enjoy this tour. It was a great way to see different districts across Lisboa and despite the hills, it didn't feel too strenuous. I'd highly recommend it as something a bit different to do while in Lisbon.

    Don't miss it
One of our best experiences in Portugal. It's not only a streetart Tour, you learn much more about Lisboa in a wonderful way. Our 16-year old daughter followed concentrated for hours in a foreign language. There is nothing more to tell:-).

    Zen Tour of Lisbon
We were a “ group” of three. We each thought this was an outstanding three hours-and very fortunate to be guided by the founder of City Guru, Joao Moedas. He was open to meet our interests, extremely well informed about art, architecture and national and city history. This is the way to be introduced to any city in any country!

Great tour with large and tiny art projects
We did not know anything on street art but Manou showed us the best in town. The regional embassy is a hidden secret in town and perfect stop and the parking garage with street art really is a good idea. Thank you Manou

    Street art tour
I did this tour on the first day of my trip to Lisbon. Marisa enthused us with her love and knowledge of Lisbon and its art scene. She showed us the many fabulous artifacts but she also gave them meaning by explaining the history and politics behind each one. I am so pleased to have started my trip with this knowledge because I then changed my planned itinary and saw Lisbon not as a gawgling tourist but as an observer of this beautiful, vibrant city and understood why the residents are so proud of their culture and heritage.

    Cemeteries in Lisbon
We had a great tour with Ondrick. We visited two cemeteries via a trolley ride and were most impressed with Ondrick and his stories, antedotes and history. We visited the British cemetery tucked away in Estrela and then walked over to Pleasures cemetery, Prazeres. Both were different and nice to see the contrast. We enjoyed the architecture and personal touches by loving family members. A very interesting tour, off the beaten path. Ondrick's friendly ,easy demeanor and knowledge were a plus. It was a nice morning. Highly recommend.

Amazing double tour of art and music
On my first full day in Lisbon, I had an amazing tour of street art with Marisa who is very passionate about Lisbon and its eclectic and diverse offerings. Marisa showed me a a number of murals and pieces around the city, many of which were hidden and only known to the curious local. Marisa gave me an interesting explanation of many pieces and the artists responsible for the pieces. Marisa introduced me to the LX Factory, a cool and vibrant creative hub in Lisbon which is a must see place in the city. I met up again with Marisa for a night tour of Lisbon's lesser known music scenes, including an infectious Brazilian party at a restaurant with an amazing band and atmosphere and a beautiful fusion performance of African and Portuguese musicians at a very cool hidden bar. We ended the night listening to Brazilian music at a great, very cool multi level centre with a bar and restaurant. Marisa was so generous with her time and genuinely loves music and art which was reflected in the tour with her. I was very lucky to have Marisa as my guide. I can strongly recommend Marisa and City Guru for anyone interested in a different type of tour with local flavour and interested in getting a pulse of the city. Thanks so much. Elias.

We'd never done a guided tour before as we didn't think it was our kind of "thing". However, after a couple of days in Lisbon, it became clear that, if we really wanted a comprehensive experience of the city's street art, we were going to need some help, as there was just so much to see. It was way too easy to miss hidden gems down twisting side streets. I honestly cannot recommend this tour enough. Our guide, Leath, was immensely knowledgeable, informative, and very well immersed in the local art culture. We got so much more than a street art tour, learning about everything from Portuguese history to everyday life in Lisbon. Group was small and every stop was interesting, with even smaller stops we might have overlooked on our own having interesting stories behind them. I won't spoil it by uploading a bunch of photos, but go if you can. Definitely a must have experience on any trip to the City.

Three hours walking across Portugal sounded daunting when we first set out on this tour but the time flew by!
We absolutely loved this tour. We learned so much about the city and the culture of Lisbon. Our tour included historical facts, fun facts and every detail in between. It was a rainy day but our tour guide was so engaging that the weather didn’t matter as much. Pro tip: where comfortable shoes that have great grip when visiting Portugal, especially if you’re doing a lot of walking!

I came to Lisbon specifically to see the street art and have done street art tours around the world. This was one of the best ones mainly due to the knowledge and passion of our guide. I learnt new things about street art and he invited us to discuss our thoughts about the pieces, as well as telling us lots about Lisbon's history and politics. A really enjoyable way to spend a few hours, especially our stop off to have a drink together and I really appreciated him checking that the pace of the tour was ok, as there's lots of hills and uneven terrain. The art pieces are stunning and I loved this tour.

Booked this tour as my partner has a keen interest in street art and I was hoping to learn a little too. Leith (our guide) was outstanding - his knowledge of art, the city, cultural and local history was incredible and we learned so much. This is a great way to see Lisbon - covering a wide area and corners off of the tourist track you wouldn't otherwise see. Leith ensured the pace worked for all of our group and left us with some excellent recommendations for dinner. We would highly recommend this tour!

Our street art tour was an excellent way to learn about Lisbon with a deeper look at the culture and several of the neighborhoods. Our guide is an accomplished street artist and shared many perspectives about the various artistic methods and communication vehicles that street artists employ. We got to see the city from many different angles both physically as we did a lot of walking but also figuratively through the eyes of street artists. Our guide was thoughtful and engaging, making the whole experience wonderful.

One of my favorite experiences in Lisbon was this street art tour with Leith! He was so personable, knowledgeable and fun, that three hours went by so quickly. I would recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip so you can continue to pick out street art while exploring the city.

This was a great way to learn about the history of Lisbon, see the city and get a pulse on the people. It truly is a unique way to experience Lisbon and I highly recommend! Also our guide Joao was a local contributing member of the art community, which gave him a deep understanding that made the tour thought provoking.

This tour takes us through 3-4 neighborhoods and the guide, Leith, explained in great detail the artwork and the part it plays in Street Art in Lisbon. We learned a lot about art and the history of Lisbon at the same time! A highlight of the visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. My husband and I are retired Art teachers, and we learned a lot. Our guide, Laith, was very passionate and knowledgeable about Street Art and its artists. He challenged and engaged us as we talked about the artist's message. We explored off the beaten path works and were exposed to a wide variety.
We cannot say enough good things about Laith and we highly recommend this tour.

Leith is a inspiring and passionate storyteller and it shows with every piece he describes. He is well spoken, very attentive to the needs of everyone in the group and above all a great storyteller. He loves the works he presents and cares for the communicated messages. The tour covers everything from tagging to (comissioned) murals and the various techniques used. It also doubles as a tour from hill to hill if you are new to the city :)

Thank you Leith!
