What to Expect
Make your way to a central location in Lisbon, where you’ll start exploring the city’s history in the heart of Bairro Alto. From there, continue to the Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara, with sweeping views of the Baixa and the south bank of the Tagus River. See the Jesuit Church of San Roque, which features beautiful examples of mannerist and baroque styles, before descending to the Gothic-style Carmo Convent. Visit a series of landmarks in Baixa and pause for coffee and cake, before boarding the electric tram to the Portas do Sol. There, see the Church of Sao Vicente de Fora, the National Pantheon, and the traditional Alfama district, home to many of the city’s historic fado houses. The tour concludes at the 12th-century Lisbon Cathedral, a must-see city landmark close to top attractions and local cafes.
