Lisbon Small Group Tour

Overview
Go straight to Lisbon’s highlights on this 5-hour small-group tour by minivan. A local insider will whisk you to the city’s best landmarks, so you only see the best Portugal’s capital has to offer. Discover its charming neighborhoods, like Baixa and Alfama, cross the iconic 25th of April bridge, and snap photos from the best vantage points in the city, looking out over red terra cotta roofs and down to the Tagus River. Top it off with a tasty local pastry.
What to Expect

After we pick you up, you will learn about the City of Seven Hills, enjoy the amazing views and vibes that Lisbon has to offer, and we will stop at the best viewpoints of the city – we call them miradouros, which means ‘golden views’ – you will understand why! (like the miradouro da Nossa Senhora do Monte). We will also tour the most typical neighborhoods in Lisbon like Baixa, Chiado, Alfama, Graça, Mouraria or Principe Real.

After all the up and downs of the old town, we will cross the bridge that was named after the revolution day (25th of April Bridge) that finished the Salazar dictatorship in 1974. This bridge is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA (it's our Golden Gate). We will then go to the south side of the river for one special reason: to enjoy the best view of Lisbon at the Christ the King Statue, which was erected in 1959 to thank God for sparing Portugal from the horrors of World War II (here there is an optional entrance for an additional fee). You'll be amazed with this astonishing view.

Now it is time to go back to XVI century to discover together all of the adventures of the brave Portuguese navigators. You’ll have the opportunity to appreciate different monuments, but you can’t miss out on the magnificent monastery classified by UNESCO that was built to celebrate discovery of a sea route to India in 1498 by Vasco da Gama (Monastery of Jeronimos - we'll visit the church and skip the cloister). We will also enjoy the remarkable Torre de Belem (outside only) or the limestone giant Padrao dos Descobrimentos (Discoveries Monument; outside only); and of course, the most well keep secret of the Portuguese pastry, the Pasteis de Belem. There is a local ritual to eating these delicacies that we will share with you.

Tania was great!

Tania made this tour! Sweet, attractive, bubbly, and knowledgeable all things Lisbon. She made the fact it was 108 degrees F. less important. She was genuinely excited to share her knowledge and make sure we got it. This is a must tour in Lisbon.

Needed a tad bit more organization

Very very nice guide, but more commentary would have been appreciated, sometimes too much time looking at the same view of the bay, sometimes no chance to take pictures of certain spots.

Great City Tour

The guide was outstanding and patient even in the worst weather conditions imaginable. The small group enjoyed the tour despite the weather. Highly knowledgeable native guide with outstanding grasp of Portuguese history. Speaks excellent English. Terrific coverage of the whole city. Would go again.

We were a family of four -two senior couples- from Vancouver, and at the pick up venue were joined by four American ladies travelling together. We introduced ourselves to each other before being picked up by Taniya (hopefully this is the right local spelling). She...More
