    Perfect day trip
    As usual, this kind of trips with 3-4 stops are not perfect.But this was amazing.Nuno our driver and guide was great in history and the time was flying with him.All places are very worth a visit

    Day trip from Sintra - highly recommend
    John did a great job! At the Sinatra palacio, he led us right where we needed to be at the right time so we were able to bypass the long line. Without a tour guide, we would have been stuck waiting forever and trying to buy tickets. The other spots were lovely. We had enough time in each spot and the van had strong wifi!

    Sintra and surrounding area.
    My Wife and I and our daughter decided to visit the Sintra area on our short break to Lisbon, we could have done it ourselves as we had our own car but booked the trip instead. This turned out to be the best decision as the guide turned the day into an easy and very informative trip. Would recommend this trip 100%.

    Peña palace and the coast
    Picked up and dropped off close to our airbnb. Pleasant walk through the garden of Peña Palace. Peña palace was amazing. Our guide, Orenia was very good, very knowledgeable. Sintra was interesting and would have liked more time there. Cabo da Roca , Cascais and the coastal drive ok.

    Warm experience
    It was a nice and relax trip for a day. Small and friendly group. However, I forgot my hat in the car and worried if I could find it back before I leave Lisbon. Sent message to tour operator in the night. The second day, when I came back from city walk and prepare to check out. Receptionist gave me my hat which dropped by driver. Really felt warm and appreciate. What a wonderful experience in Lisbon!

    In spite of rain showers we had a very enlightening day. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and insightful. It was a long day but we totally enjoyed our trip through picturesque Portugal.

    Paulo was absolutely incredible tour guide. Very relaxed and comfortable and very knowledgeable. The trip was amazing. From start to finish with a bonus stop to see a unbelievable learning experience about how a factory that uses cork to make anything from hats to shoes to chairs ,tables, purses,bags, wallets all kind of things you'd never expect. Would do this trip again in a heartbeat.

    Pena Palace & Palace Gardens
    I enjoyed visiting both the Pena Palace and especially the Palace gardens as these were definitely the highlight of the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining.

    Amazing day spent with Diego as our guide. He is very knowledgeable and clearly loves the history and the area. He made it fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour and, for sure request Diego!

    AMAZING tour!
    Amazing tour! Nuno was a great tour guide! Enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Customized the tour to our interests and was happy to answer any questions. The tile museum was cool to see (and we painted our own tiles) and the museum was a great way to end the day. If you have any interest in the history of Portugal (and it’s art) please take this tour!

    Sintra is a must-see
    My wife and I were joined by four others for a group of six people for the tour to Sintra and Cascais. The logistics went off without any issues. The Sintra portion of the tour, of course, was the highlight. Joãn, the tour guide, did a great job of keeping us informed with quite a bit of historical information about the creation of the castle and its surroundings. We had lunch on our own is a very good restaurant that Joãn recommended to us. Some minor changes had to be made to the planned day due unusually strong winds in the area the day we went. Joãn made good choices to salvage the day without compromising the overall experience. Recommended!

Avoid this company
Beautiful place and comfortable transport, but the guide Nuno wasn't kind with us, just because english is not our mother tongue. He was just focus with the irish people because he has irish family. Even we pay 200 euros the guide insisted to take a kayak tour (30 euros) they explained to us that it was for beginners, we took it but when we did it. they say it was not for beginners we didnt have the level to do it, so it was 30 euros to thrash. I know they want to earn commissions with the kayak tour but they should explain that is not for beginners.

We had a great day visiting the Berlengas! The island was beautiful and fun to explore. When we got to the island the weather conditions weren’t great which caused the boat ride over to be a little rocky. Despite the weather, our tour guide was still able to make the experience informative and fun. When the weather cleared up we were able to enjoy the beautiful beach and go for a swim. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Lisbon area!

Beautiful island

Had a really nice day! The drive to péniche was comfortable (A/C in the car and pretty large seats), the ferry ride was pretty rocky tho (some people got seasick). We started the day with a guided hike to the fortress (there are many steps, so it’s a good idea to bring shoes), the views were really nice. We then came back to the starting point by boat (we were able to get into some small caves). We had some free time after, so my group decided to go eat at the restaurant, then go swim at the beach. It was a nice experience and I recommend it!

Stunning island with a great team
The island is absolutely beautiful and the trip made for a lovely day away from the city. Unfortunately my partner got terrible sea sickness on the boat over but all team checked on him all the time to make sure he was doing okay. We missed the tour with our group while he was recovering but Gil organised for us to join another group in the afternoon which was so great and meant we hadn’t missed anything. Great guides!

The ride over on the boat was tougher than I anticipated, but I did enjoy the experience once we arrived. Our guide was such a sweet man who really loved his home [Portugal] and it showed. You should be in pretty good shape to climb up and down the mountain. If you have a medical issue that would physical prevent you from climbing or navigating rocky paths, there may be some other tour that’s a better fit. The sights were perfect, our guide was knowledgeable and kind.

I really enjoyed it and I was very pleased with our day trip!

Must-see if you have a free day in Lisbon!

João was an amazing guide, the island and people were wonderful, absolutely recommend! Although the hike was a bit more challenging than expected (some steep stairs on the way down), they were very accommodating for people who may not have been able to do it. No matter how you need to get to the fortress, do it because the views were breathtaking! João was so knowledgeable about the history and wildlife of the island, it made for an excellent learning experience! It was also a small enough group that we all stuck together and had a really great time! The perfect mix of a structured tour and free time as well.

Amazing Experience for a Solid Price

What an amazing trip to go to from Lisbon. We started our day off by driving to the port where we took a really fun ferry to the island. From the island, we toured around the island where we learned about its history, cultural significance, and geography. The water was beautiful and the temperature was perfect! From there we boarded a glass-bottom boat where we saw the sea life of the local area. Afterward we had some free time to snorkel. It was way too cold for me, so I opted to hike the whole island. Next time in Lisbon I'll definitely be doing this again!

Brilliant glimpse into a stunning natural landscape thick with history and a niche bit of Portuguese culture.
This was incredible day full of adventure, rich history, and magical nature. Our guide João was brilliant, knowledgeable, and so helpful. Really enjoyed my time. It was timed and structured perfectly. Thanks again!

Amazing island! Terrible guide!

Berlenga Island was amazing! We recommend it 100%!! Where we were greatly disappointed was in our tour guide, Dave. He was not sociable at all and would only give short answers to any questions we had. During the drive to and from the town of Peniche (1h drive) he was very distracted and careless! He was on his cellphone checking his Facebook, phone messages and google maps. He drove very fast and seemed to need to pass everyone around us. We did not feel safe in the car AT ALL! The tour advertises air conditioned van; it was not! Once we got to the island, his instructions and expectations for us were unclear which resulted in us being rushed through the hike, not having time to explore the fort and getting yelled at by the kayak guides on the island; very disappointing! The only time he showed interest in us was towards the end of the tour, when tip time came, which we did not provide! Was Berlenga island worth it? ABSOLUTELY! But avoid booking with “Around Lisbon” tours and especially avoid David Ferreira Barata!

Amazing beach and island tour when visiting Portugal!!

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to have a beach day and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Lisbon. My friend and I had a wonderful tour guide named Nounou. He was interesting and informative throughout the experience. We took an air-conditioned minivan to the village of Peniche to hop on a boat to the Berlenga Island. The trip to the island is around 1 hour. If you had any sort of seasickness/ motion sickness, chances are that you will get sick during the boat ride. Unfortunately, I did not feel too great throughout the ride but our tour guide had bags for people who became nauseous. I would recommend to the people who get sick, to go to the front of the boat to sit on the beanbag chairs, to minimize the seasickness. Coming back from the island was better than going to the island since you are riding with the waves and not against them. When we were on the island, you had the choice of kayaking or going on the glass bottom boat. I would recommend kayaking if you are adventurous. You don't necessarily need to know kayaking to do this activity. Remember to bring an extra set of clothes since you will get wet. If you can, bring a waterproof pouch for your phone so you can take beautiful photos when kayaking. We had free time to enjoy the beach which was lovely. Overall, this is a wonderful trip for friends, and family with older kids. The last tip is to pack some lunch since there is only one cafe/restaurant on the island. This will save you time so you will have more time at the beach.
