    Good First day Orientaion
The YellowBus was quite good. Very good descriptions of sites. There are 2 routes plus the Yellow Boat tour. It is great for the first day orientation. The main Pickup point is right in the center of the Old City. I would recommend a 24 hour pass. The stops are somewhat difficult to locate if you decide to hop off, visit a museum then walk to the nest stop. The stops are far apart and hard to locate. The Lisboa Card offers more flexibility plus free entrance to many museums and travel on all public transport, Free commuter train trip to Sintra, is a must see. However no guided descriptions of sites.

    Don’t lose your paper ticket!
Bought a 72 hour ticket & lost the paper ticket & then was told there wasn’t anything the company could do to re-issue our tickets. We had only used it for 24 hours, total waste of 180 euros. Don’t recommend, very poor customer service. Surely we are not the only people to accidentally lose tickets. We had a booking ref, confirmation email surely in this modern world the QR code would suffice.

    Just a "so-so" experience.
During the bus tour, the driver and the male talked nonstop! Never offered nor could I locate earphones. We sped by all but 1 stop and only slowed down enough to pick up a rider. The bus itself was modern and clean. The boat tour was fine. Older, but fine. Because it had rained before our tour started the outside seating was wet. There was no effort by staff to wipe the area of water or the black oily exhaust deposits from the disel exhaust. That said. I have beautiful pictures of the places I had interest in seeing from the water- so I am happy!

Yellow bus tour not worth the money
We paid over €200 for bus tour tickets + Aquarium for 4 adults and one child. Aquarium experience was good. The tour was not worth the time or money!!! The information given was minimal, there was a lot of background music instead of guided commentary that we paid for. Audio did not work on some seats. Tickets can be used on trams and buses too but we had no idea where to find them! Leaflet provided should have that information made clear for those who visit the city for the first time. I would not recommend Yellow bus tour.

    Best tour of Yellow bus
This was the best tour of all the tours we took. We took the tiger in the evening, the last ride of the tour. And we could see the breathtaking sunset as well.

This was not so good. You cannot get down anywhere. By the time you try to click photos it moves on. So should give it a miss.

Useful as transport, not to learn about the city
The tour is ok, not very informative but does take you to most of the key attractions in the city. Staff were friendly and happy to answer questions. Really useful that you can also use trams and the Santa Justa lift. This meant we could get to the castle and cathedral in addition to the destinations on the bus tour. Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower are definitely highlights.

we love the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower is fantastic, the beautiful Estrela Basilica.
We loved this tour. The driver Mr. Cláudio Lara took us very well. He drives very well and is very attentive. He gave us lots of explanations about what we could visit with our ticket. I recommend it with 10 out of 10.

Terrible driver would not allow us to board with app ticket rather than paper one! He called police cos took his photo!
We bought the tickets on the app and then boarded the bus. We were then given a printed ticket. The next time we got on the bus we did not have the printed tickets as we had changed our clothes back at the hotel & left the tickets there as we knew we had them in the app. However when we tried to board the bus the 2nd time we showed him the tickets on the app but the driver was very insistent and in a very unfriendly manner that we needed the paper version of the tickets to ride on his bus! We discussed this in a reasonable manner and got off the bus but he became very hostile when I took his photo . He got out of his seat and got off the bus and then would not let us walk away by blocking my husband physically and calling the police!!! We were not even on the bus. We wanted to go back to our hotel nearby to get the paper tickets! His issue was that we took a photo of him!! The police arrived very quickly as they were nearby and we explained the situation to them. They realised it was totally ridiculous but were not able to comment on the issue wit the paper v app ticket. They did request that we deleted the photo as it is illegal to take a photo of someone in Portugal without their consent. Good luck with that in the world of social media! So we deleted the photos & a video I front of the police and went on our way. We can of course recover the photo and video from our phones and will be very happy to share with you so you can see which of your drivers is giving yellow bus tours a very bad impression. We find it strange that he was so angry about the photo.. he must have something to hide? All of that said… this issue only arose in he first place because your system is antiquated. Why have an app if the tickets on it are invalid.

    Get out!!
I took the 4:00 tour and 5 minutes into the tour, there was a blocage on the road. I was told it might be long and I should get out of the tram. I was not offered an alternative arrangement. My flight was the next day so I couldn't catch a different tour. I contacted the company to have a refund and I received a vague email that they were looking into the situation. A week later, I sent a second email and still have no response or refund.

Yellow boat tour - really not worth it
Music onboard way to loud - and commentary way to basic - and out of sync with monuments/sights. Also not really a hop on off experience as time between boats is 4 hours

    Highly recommend
24 hour ticket. Wonderful views. Easy on-off. Saw Lisbon in a day light on our way to Belem, and in a sunset light on our way back. Magnificent sights. Extra bonus multiple rides on funicular and Santa Justa elevator. I would recommend it to anyone.

    The route got much shorter
Last year the ride was amazing but this year we are disappointed. Last year it lasted for about 1h20min. This year only 30-35 minutes. For the price of 25€! Last year the starting point was Praca Martim Moniz and end point - Praca do Comercio. This year both points are Praca do Comercio. The route is much shorter. We haven’t seen half of what we did last year. The company should have reduced the price at least. I recommend checking the route and the length of the journey with the conductor on the spot before you pay. The internet info is incorrect. Even their website says it is 1h.

We decided us to discover Lissboas "hot-spots" by Hop-On-Hop-Off open-top bus based on our very good experience with this kind of sight-seeing on a trip to Berlin last year. To make a long story short the Lissboa tour was a very different kind of experience. After parking near river Tejo we took the Belem tour bus to the starting point of both Belem and Modern Lissboa Tour. We heard alot of music and very few explanations on the audio guide.
After getting off we walked to Lissboa cathedral and Castelo de S. George. Both would have cost money to enter ( Castelo 12€ ). So we simply walked on to the next bus stop on Modern Tour at the Cruising Ship Terminal harbor. We missed the bus there by about a minute and had to wait 30 minutes for the next scheduled bus. As the bus stop was used as parking slot by several other bus vehicles and the constant rain we took shelter at the station of the public traffic. So we missed the next bus at its planned halting point. And although the bus had to stop at a traffic light the driver did not open the door for us to enter. So we had to wait another 30 minutes in the constant rain until we could at least start our bus ride on the Modern Tour. Which I would not recommend because after the more or less interesting part along the Tejo there is not much to see on the long way back to the center of Lissboa.
Here we switched to the Belem tour and met with Lissboas nightmarish traffic. While a very heavy rainfall set in we slowly crawled forward. So if you plan any bus tours in Lissboa avoid the heavy traffic which sets in about 17 pm (working day).
But that and the bad weather is not to blame on Yellow Bus Tours. But what is to be crtitized is the very minimalistic content of the audio guide. I am sure there would have been much much more to tell about one of the oldest cities in Europe.

We signed up based on the promise of being able to access lots of other attractions but rapidly discovered that the options were not available. Queued for 30 minutes for the elevator only to find that yellow bus pass was not acceptable and had to pay extra fees. Bus tours were average with lots of repetitive “lift music” and very limited speech about local sights. We then waited for the “free” tram ride only to discover that you could only use the bus ticket from one location. After walking to the one location the driver told us rudely that the tram was not running and then just ignored us and left us at the roadside. All round poor service and contact with the company was exceptionally bad, which is sad as these tours are often our favourites!

Dear Customer, As previously explianed, Santa Justa Lift, it is indeed included in the ticket, but you must redeem the voucher to get the ticket and to be able to present it in the Lift , yellow trams and funiculars. In the ticket you purchased, only the public trams (yellow trams are included) as it is well explained in the tour description. The red tram is a tour that includes touristic information by audioguide and guaranteed seat. To access this tram, you must by a ticket that includes this tram. In what concerns to the tram operation (yellow and red), it is interrupted every time an event in the city, or car not correctly parked, or an accident, or other events block the passage of the trams in the rails. These insturruptions are not Carris or Carristur responsability. Best regards, Yellow Bus Team

It was difficult to find information online. especially about Busstops and times. Once we found a stop we needed to scan a QR Code for bus times. The first route we took went to Belem. there we waited 45 minuted for the next bus although the schedule said something different. When the bus finally arrived there was not one but 2 buses right behind each other. While waiting for the bus at least 20 Busses from other companies came past regularly. So I dont beieve that the delay was because of traffic..
The next day we wanted to do the Modern Lisbon Tour, went to Stop number 2 to "hop on" here the bus also was 40 Minutes late. As it was only the second run of the day, which shouldhave left Stop one at 11am but didnt show up at Stop two until almost 12 I again dont understand what happened here.
After finally getting on a bus we did the full round - not wanting to get odd since we didnt know when the next bus would come. We decised to get off at Stop 2 again. Much to our surprise, the bus wentfrom stop 12 streight to Stop 3... Luckyly we saw the number on the stop and got off...
All in all it was a very poor expereince - 0/10 would not recommend

Very poor. You can’t get on and off at the same stop without getting off at the terminus and waiting for the next bus. One day we waited 45 mins. Staff lied- said the bus would arrive in 10 mins, after 15 mins then said another 10 mins. When you complain they just say it’s not their fault. The red busses looked to be better organised.

Just off a cruise ship today and needed a tour of Lisbon as it's very hilly, did a fantastic tuk tuk one last time so decided on the yellow bus this time. Well got on about 9.30 and headed off on the red route thru modern Lisbon, absolute rubbish all concrete but never mind as it progressed things got better and we arrived at a nice square where we got off and bought a few souvenirs and looked round a market. Then it all went wrong got on the next bus and it then continues to the BLUE route thru old Lisbon lovely, and on and on further and further out towards the maritime museum U could see Christ the Redeemer over the other side and we got worried it's now nearly 1300, 1pm and the ship leaves at 1500 3pm. So as panic set in that we might not make it back and getting hungry and needing the loo, we got off and caught a taxi back, not bad under €20. Phew time for lunch on board just before 1400 . 2pm please Check lengths of trip before U buy.

It worked for us, and we had the 96 hour ticket. Set your expectations to avoid disappointment. For example, if you try to board the bus mid-tour, the bus may be full. Don't expect busses to start early, run late, or run often.
Tips:
1. Get to the first stop at Praca Figuera a few minutes ahead of the departure time to avoid full buses. Morning buses will be less busy than later in the day.
2. Take a "full tour" with the audio to learn about all of the stops before you start picking places to get off. it will be more relaxing.
3. The ticket can also be used on all CITY transportation - any bus, tram, or streetcar that says Carris on it. So IF the tour buses are full when you try to get on mid-route, take a city bus or tram instead! Just show your ticket to the driver.
4. There are only one or two departure times for the Yellow Boat, so if you buy the ticket that includes that, make sure to prioritize that part of the ticket, or you will miss it!

Having used the service we would not recommend it. The tours run in one direction so if you want to use the blue line for only a few stops you have to repeat the entire trip from your initial starting point each time. Not very flexible. The last pickups of the day end around supper hour so don’t plan to use it after staying out any distance from your accommodation to enjoy an evening meal.

The stops are not called out so you have to guess where you are before signalling you would like to disembark. The blue line runs approximately every 30 minutes so if you do disembark your choices for continuing the tour are limited. Miss a bus because it arrives a bit early, another 30 minute wait.

Some stops are a great distance apart and if you choose to walk to the next one, good luck finding some small yellow placards indicating a stop. Unsure why they cannot make safe stops in a few more of the city bus stands?

We were less than 100 yards from a posted stop on a side street with little traffic near the port and signalled to the driver. She pointed behind her bus as she passing. Disappointing.

Investigate your alternatives. Maybe good for a single day trip once round the city. Just stay on the bus.

Only do this for a convenient, overview tour of the city. Do not expect an informatory commentary as it is extremely weak. There's over an hour of information that the recorded guide could provide but it doesn't instead, a few bits of information here and there. Some of the commentary wasn't even informative but rather common sense like "stop by one of the many cafes throughout the city when thirsty or hungry." Duh...

Also, the company should have a more sustainable option for the headphones rather than having customers just dispose of them. If you do go on this tour, please don't forget to throw away the little plastic bags of the headphones! I saw so many on the floor and getting blown away as litter...

We took three of the lines - to Belem, to modern Lisbon and the tram line re-creating the route of the famous line 28. Overall the experience was awesome as it wasn't very crowded and we were able to find good seats with clear views.
We didn't had any issues at any point and we were satisfied to learn more about the sightseeing we saw.
The staff was also very welcoming and friendly, for our first stop they even escorted us to the bus stop, explained all in very detailed manner.
My personal favorite remains the tram replicating the route of Tram #28. This was a life-time experience. For sure I would recommend to friends visiting Lisbon.

Whatever you do, do not use yellow bus. On multiple occasions we had to sit on a bus for 40-50 minutes either on the top in the sun, or on the bottom without A/C. During our last ride, the driver stopped at a stop and told us we had to get off the bus because the audio wasn’t working and another bus would come pick us up. We ended up walking the rest of the day because the tour was so atrocious, and did not match up with their promised timeline nor the “live timetables” they have online. I would recommend the Lisbon or Portugal sightseeing, as they were at each of the stops we were waiting at twice to three as many times as the yellow bus arrived.
