About
If you are going to arrive at Terceira Island on a Cruise Ship, then this is the tour for you! The best of Terceira Island.
We leave the port towards Praia da Vitória, pass through the center and stop at the Miradouro do Facho, with a beautiful view over the city.
We head towards the Serra do Cume Viewpoint, from where you have a spectacular view over the “patchwork”.
We then descend to Vila de São Sebastião, to see the oldest church on the Island as well as one of the admired “Impérios”.
We continue towards Angra do Heroísmo, along the south coast. We visit the city and Monte Brasil, stop at Miradouro do Pico das Cruzinhas.
By this time, we will be roughly halfway through our tour and therefore, of course, it is possible to stop somewhere to eat something and use the toilet.
We go up to north to visit natural swimming pools of Biscoitos and see the wine-growing landscape of this locality.
(Option) It will be possible to visit the Algar do Carvão monument if it is on opening day

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- wendylV8334ND0 contributionsexcellent, money worthAzorBus did a great job and picked us up directly at the hotel without charges. We really appreciate that. The trip and lunch were marvellous.Written 21 November 2024
- NatashaR19020 contributionsThe Empty Volcano was Out of This WorldThough we had to get up super early to take a flight to Terceira for the day trip with AzorBus City Tours, it was worth every bit. Philip, our excellent guide and driver, picked us up from the Airport (3 of us, including my 77 year mum) and after some pickups of some lovely people from different parts of the world, we started on a brilliantly planned and exciting tour of Terceira. Philip was a store house of information and had a rye and dry sense of humour. He shared a lot of history of the place and took us to some hidden gems. His driving skills are excellent in the largish bus, considering the narrow roads along the hilly path. He took us to one of the most exciting moments of our trip; to an empty volcano. That was an experience I'll recommend to everyone to do. It was stunning, cold (carry a jacket, if you want, i personally loved the cold), full of moss, stalagmites, and dripping water, loads of steps and lots of people; worth it all. At Angra do Heroísmo, up in the hills, we were super lucky to see a large deer posing for us near the vehicle. The history of Vasco da Gama and his connections to Terceira were fascinating. The fascination of the number 3 and it's connection to Terceira were fun facts he shared with us. Lots more to say, but it's best to experience it. Would love to visit again and see the island with Philip and the AzoreBus City Tours.Written 13 October 2024
- norms2890 contributionsExcellent TourPhillipe was our guide today and he was amazing! His wealth of knowledge of the island was amazing and we were educated very well. - pavelp380 contributionsInformative as well as beautifulEasy pickup from the chosen location, a very nice and informative tour guide, we visited view locations we'd hardly be able to get to without a rented car. We learned something about the island's nature, history, traditions, and economy, too.Written 22 August 2024

- V777WBjosephc0 contributionsLove terceira for its wildernessI got stunned for the hospitality, the island beauty and the food. we stayed at Praia de Vitoria not far from the Airport at Branco 1 Hotel. We enjoyed every single corner of the island from Angra do heroismo, Porto Judeu, Porto do Cabo, Porto Martins. We enjoyed the natural pools (piscinas naturales) of every municipalities andI preferred Porto Martins for the high water and very rough waves. We rented a car at the hotel and we went all around the island including the inner side. We visited Parco de las merendas and Pico Alto, we got lost (voluntarily) in the countryside. The bst food was a barracuda (fish of the day later discovered) at Porto Judeu restaurant Biamar. we clibed the miraduro of Boa vista at Praia da Vitoria and laid on its sandy beach. Most of all I loved Terceira for the little modern impact on the environment and its wilderness; people were extremely friendly and food was excellent. Prices? Very low..... Miss Terceira. A day I will go back.Written 28 June 2024

- Caro L0 contributionsPerfect for Food Lovers!Excellent tour! We can’t say enough good things about our guide, Filipe, and this tour!! We got to see so much of Terceira and taste the delicious food it has to offer. From the fresh cheeses to the incredibly fresh seafood - you can’t ask for anything better. We also got to try the local ice cream and other “must-haves” in Terceira, such as the limpets and barnacles. If you like food and seeing beautiful things, take this tour!! Filipe is also incredibly knowledgeable about the island and provided information in such a way that you just kept wanting to hear more. Such a fabulous experience!Written 7 March 2024

- 695brandiel0 contributionsWe had the Best Tour GuideFrom the personal touches and the jam packed narrative of the island history we booked two tours with Phillipe and love every moment. The full day culinary tour was so awesome, we had Al Catra, local seafood, island ice cream, so many touches... oh the cheese... we both brought home 40 dollars worth of Island cheese.Written 22 February 2024
- josefW3474OP0 contributionsPartnership that is but is notA little frustrated, because what was described in the gastronomic itinerary information was not fully fulfilled. They should have an alternative if the first option fails. What was mentioned in the proposal was the tasting of fish and seafood, which was limited to a simple dish of limpets in the Azorean fashion and which looked more like a shoe sole. Furthermore, it was mentioned that there was a visit to a fish market, which did not happen, the visit was made to a fish market selling frozen products, nothing like a fresh fish market, something that should not be missing in the islands of Açores.Written 20 February 2024

This was an amazing tour! What made it even better was Felipe, the owner/bus driver, and Filipa, his wife/tour guide. They worked so well together sharing their knowledge of the island. Felipa was calling our group of 16 by their first names, both in English and Portuguese, shortly after the tour began. They answered all our questions and were willing to help in any way. By the end of the tour, we felt like they were our new friends. Their bus is unique and fun. I would definitely recommend Azorbus if you are looking for a great tour of Terceira.
