About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Dolores2410 contributionsGreat day and dark side night tourBrillant tour . Completly recommend . Martin was so informative and a great character . We had already done the day tour earlier in the day with Patrick who was exellant also . Go do both of these tours - you will be glad you did ! I’ve recommended them to loads of friendsWritten 3 December 2024
- Gautam_mn0 contributionsWalk and talk with Luc D!The day was wet, grey and cold, couldn’t have been worse. But it’s the guide that made it an amazing experience, brilliant story telling and great sense of humor. Keeps you hooked with questions and rewards you for answering them right! Thank you Luc D for the amazing experince and for doing what you do!Written 1 December 2024
- nadz14650 contributionsTip, trips and history of Bruges.......Really informative and historical tour of the city. Jan was really good fun and included a quiz for all the group. Would reccomend these tours for anyone wanting to know more about the city. Gary and Nadine...Written 30 November 2024
- Zoe B0 contributionsWell worth it!Martin was very entertaining and informative. He engaged well with all; answered questions easily and we found the trip was well worth it. Wished we had done it on the first day though to get our bearings!Written 30 November 2024
- Matt T0 contributionsGood fun, but not really that dark…The tour was informative and fun. But it really didn’t tell us much about the dark side of Bruges at all, although did show us some different spots to those we saw on a day walking tour earlier in our trip. Our guide Martin was friendly and enthusiastic and kept everyone engaged, but of the two tours we did this one was the slightly less enjoyable. Still worth a good tip at the end through.Written 29 November 2024
- PiaCJ0 contributionsBrussel‘s Dark Side with SebastianTwo unforgettable hours discovering who was killed/tortured where, when, how and why: Sebastian will guide you on a lovely walk and tell you so many fascinating stories to make you forget rain, wind and chilly temperatures. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Written 27 November 2024
- lindawG1121CK0 contributionsPerfect blend of fact and humourWe wanted to know about the city as we haven't been before and our tour guide Louie was excellent. The mix of humour and factual information was just great! I especially loved to hear how women had had such an influence on the city's development. (Not biased, of course.) Tomorrow we will view some of the places Louie pointed out in more detail. Would definitely recommend this company as your first choice for a walking tour.Written 26 November 2024
- Daydream132070736600 contributionsEducational and tastey tourWe booked onto the tour before we left the UK, we were so pleased we had done as it was super busy over the weekends. We had Martin as our tour guide and he was brilliant, full of knowledge and enthusiasm for our 1.5 hour tour - thanks Martin!Written 25 November 2024

- J1942CRgeorgeg0 contributionsThe Dark Side of Bruges Tour was ExcellentThe crowds are gone and its perfect time to do a private night tour with Legends Tours. Our guide Hein was so knowledgeable of Bruges, and we enjoyed our time with him. We covered different areas to keep the interest up which was important. Had a fantastic time on this tour.Written 22 November 2024
- J1942CRgeorgeg0 contributionsGreat Orientation Tour of Bruges with Legends ToursBruges is such a beautiful town, and we were lucky to Patrick from Legends Tours to show us around. He was very informative and took us places that we did not think about and provided recommendations on what to do with our remaining time in Bruges. It is always best to do an orientation of a new town as soon as you can to help get ideas and what you want to see in more detail. I would highly recommend this company and tour to anyone visiting Bruges!Written 22 November 2024
- IleneM2160 contributionsA great intro to BrugesThe tour was funny, informative and entertaining. Louie 5 star knows his city and it shows because he is passionate about sharing his stories with you. I definitely recommend this fun tour. Hint: there is a lot of brisk walking involved so wear comfortable shoes. If you are not used to brisk walking for almost 2 hours, choose a different tour. We loved it!Written 19 November 2024
- R4730WDvickia0 contributionsOctober half-term funGreat tour around the lesser known parts of Bruges. Martin was our guide and he was very informative. Our teenage son and daughter were also very interested. Some great photo opportunities not to be missed.Written 18 November 2024

- ZainabMusajo0 contributionsA very enjoyable experience of Bruge historyThe dark side of Brugge tour was definitely a great one to do especially when there are less crowds around and we had a great experience learning about the history of Bruge and seeing parts we might not have walked through. The guide was brilliant and had a great sense of humour whilst telling us spooky stories of events that happened. We enjoyed the whole experience with Martin as our guide and would recommend this tour and I would happily do more tours with legends free walking tours. I would say Martin made it enjoyable. I visited Legends of Bruges and Bruges in the evening in one day. Both tours were guided by Nicolas and it was amazing. The lively manner in which he told us about funny and dramatic events of the city and impact they had on the world captured my attention and I even almost didn't care about the rain. What I really liked is that he loves his city and being a guide
It was my first time to take a free walking tour and was worth visiting as it coveref the main spots of interst (or more local things during the evening tour) and I started to understand what Bruges is, how and why does it look now. Really a good start to explore the city as each tour doesn't take a lot of time and there's plenty left to feel the city atmosphere on your own but in a more conscious way.

Martin, our guide, was genuine, entertaining, and knowledgeable about the history and the city. There were only a few of us (post-lockdown tour), and we went through the best parts of town in a two-hour tour. I think that the Legends of Bruges walking tour is a great overview / prelude to a deeper exploration of this beautiful city. This one is worth going back to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Bruges walking tour hosted by Debby who is local born and bred. She told lots of entertaining stories and introduced us to many interesting places in Bruges. It was a great way to start our long weekend. Debby was a tremendously engaging, lively and inclusive guide as well as being very knowledgeable and multilingual. We received great tips on where to get delicious, authentic Bruges treats which we can vouch for as we tried them all.
I would recommend Legends of Bruges tour without hesitation and you’ll be extra lucky if you get Debby!

We did the English walking tour with Bea and had a great time. It was a long walk (2 h!) but captivating the whole way! Bea really went into great detail, giving us many insights into the history of Bruges that we otherwise wouldn't have found out about. What wasn't always clear to me though are which stories were historically accurate and which are mere legends 🤔, but maybe that was just me 😁. Either way - going on a guided waking tour is bound to make your visit to Bruges more memorable, and we highly recommend you ask for Bea to be your guide. 🥇

We could experience a great tour and got a great insight into the history of Bruges, not only through big pillars, but also throught littler (fun) facts.
Also Liesbeth could entertain us for 2h without getting the feeling of a long or exhausting tour.
The free chocolate helped of course!

Superb! A great way to get your bearings and learn a lot of history in one go. Our tour guide was a real enthusiast for his city and had lots of great anecdotes to bring the tour to life. 100% recommend (fyi bring comfy shoes as the cobbled streets are beautiful, but hard on the feet after 2 hours walking).

Our free tour in Bruges was perfect. Louis showed us a lot of the important buildings of the city and gave us a great insight into their history. His stories were seasoned with humour and he was very charming.
Would definitely recommend taking the tour in order to fully arrive in Bruges.

Our guide was Natalie who was fantastic, unbelievably knowledgable about the history of Bruges. Her effervescent manner was charming and although I am hard of hearing her clear voice meant I heard every word. She also recommended a fantastic local beer to us which was so good I’ve just ordered a case in the UK.

The Legend of Brugge walking tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Martin was lovely! He was funny and friendly and told us great facts about the city but would also have personal conversations with us while walking between places. The historical facts about the town were amazing, it really brought meaning to places in town and made it feel all the more special. Our tour guide also gave us recommendations for places to eat, which we followed and they were fantastic, he really knows his stuff. This is a great tour to get to know the city and area, learn the history, but also get some useful tips for getting around. Couldn’t recommend it more!

What is the itinerary for this tour?

Started in Markt square, walked to the Belfry and then further south towards Minnewater park taking in a meringue shop, a brewery and some almshouses. Made our way back via a 17th century women’s housing project and the old red light district. About 2 miles in all but very gentle.

In terms of distance covered by this tour, how far is it? one of us has a bad knee and can't walk a long distance.
Written 23 April 2022
Hi, I agree with the comment from Adam - it's a flat walk, no hills, lots of stopping to explain what you are looking at. It's also free (tip based) so if you find it too hard you can drop off the walking tour at any point. Just let the guide know if they are walking too fast.

I tried to book this tour in English for Sept. 6, 2021, but it defaults to Spanish which we do not speak. I did not see anywhere on the site where I can request the language.

I think its way too early to make reservation for September. They may not have planned it yet. I did mine just a few days earlier.

Guten abend,
