Fun way for all ages to meet Rembrandt, a sensory experience.
A fun sensory experience to learn a little about Rembrandt, his family and life. Great for all ages. See him from the family’s perspective, living with an artist focused on a need to express the inner self.

      A fun experience!
We very much enjoyed our time at the Rembrandt’s Amsterdam experience. It is not a museum, it is more like an experience that you can immerse yourself in and enjoy the dramatic performance of Rembrandt and his story. At the end there was an option to create some fun AI Rembrandt style artwork, which we look back on with fondness. It was a great 1 hour fun which we were able to slot in whilst we were waiting for a restaurant booking. Thank you for the great experience.

      Back in time
Funny, creative, it gives you an impression of the time in which Rembrandt lived. Available in different languages. However, I must say it is a bit expensive for what you get.

      A good surprise
This is a lighter, audio-visual introduction to Rembrandt. It runs for 20 minutes and takes you into a replica of his home/studio. With the lighting and sound it felt a bit Harry Potter-like so I think it would be good for kids. At the end you have a chance to see what you might look like in a Rembrandt painting. They take a photo and an AI engine does the rest. One of mine was very good.

Worth a visit - especially if you like Rembrant and his work
We enjoyed this "experience" very much. It is more meaningful if you are interested in or have any background with Rembrandt. The host was quite pleasant and the free drinks and snacks, along with the souvenirs, were a nice touch. The presentation is really fun to watch, with a lot going on, especially as the show develops. A great place to get out of the weather, sit down and be educated and entertained at the same time, with some new knowledge to take home.

      Just for kids
As an adult I did not like it. It's very disappointing. Mayby nice for childeren. To expensive for 25 minutes. See that you use discount tickets.

Short but educational and great 5D experience. Totally worth it!!!
It was my very first trip to Amsterdam, from 26.12 - 28.12 and hopefully not my last one. So many places to visit and interesting things to see. My schedule was already full and I couldn't make it to Rembrandt's house. But Rembrandt's Experience was a great alternative and I'm glad that I choose this place. In a short amount of time (20-30 minutes), you'll learn the most important things about Rembrandt's life and family. The 5D experience will leave you speechless, especially if you haven't already experienced something similar before like me. Very educational, with great effects and setup that it will bring you with a short Time travel back to the Dutch Golden Age.

      Everything Rembrandt!
We purchased the Combo Reservation for the Rembrandt’s Amsterdam Experience and the Rembrandthuis Museum. Earlier in the morning, we had an interesting and informative tour at the museum. We weren't sure what to expect from the Rembrandt Experience. It is a well-done visual synopsis os Rembrandt’s life. It takes place in two rooms which envelope and draw you into his life. I will add that while we enjoyed it - it is very short, and I am not sure that it is worth the cost if you had not purchased the combo ticket.

A great introduction to the artist and city if you don’t know much about either.
This was a fun, little experience! It’s about 25mins and I felt that the price was appropriate. I did the VIP ticket which allowed me to choose a time 15 mins before the actual opening time. It included a little sweet snack and drink (water, soda, or juice. The experience includes two rooms that are immersive, but note it is not interactive. It was a great way to learn a little more about Rembrandt’s life within the context of the historical city of Amsterdam. It was very creative and well orchestrated. I recommend attending this towards the beginning of your stay as it will give you a basic level context and the history of 1600s Amsterdam. When you walk out and explore the canals and tight streets, you can start to imagine how it was during those times. And it did not take long, so you can really squeeze it into a larger itinerary, which is how I planned it.

      Thorough introduction to Rembrandt
We enjoyed this much more than we expected. The audio tour was very thorough and interesting, easy to use and you could pause it whenever you wanted or revisit areas. We saw Rembrandt’s paintings in the Rijkmuseum as well, but this audio tour gave me a much better idea of the techniques he used and even how he mixed his paints. It was also interesting to focus on his etchings, which I would probably not have bothered to look at otherwise. A good introduction to his life as well. Highly recommended.

      Well presented
Very well planned. Audio device worked well and you could pause and resume easily throughout the tour to suit yourself. The house has been designed to replicate the original with well maintained artefacts to make it life like. The etching demonstration was well worth taking part in. Well priced at €17.

do you like video learning? 3D video learning?
This experience helps understand the times Rembrandt lived in as well as a bit about his life. I found it rather short but perhaps that is so visitors can visit many other things in Amsterdam in one day. For your dollar value though seeing some of his art in the Rijks would be my choice if you have to choose between the two for both time and money value.

I went with my husband and son. I absolutely loved the show and found myself smiling the entire time. I thought the special effects were terrific and fun. While my husband and son didn’t know much about the artist beforehand, they also loved it. We really enjoyed the whole experience and felt like we were in Disney and I would recommend it to anyone who has interest in this time period or art in general.

Dear visitor, thank you for visiting my art studio with your husband and son. Hendrickje, Titus, Cornelia and myself really enjoyed it. I am not familiar with the artist Disney. Is he a new artist from Holland as well? Well, feel free anytime to stop by again, we might have more interesting paintings for sale. Sincerely, Rembrandt van Rijn

Today is our Thanksgiving in the US, and our 1st holiday in the Netherlands. We wanted to do something really "Dutchie." We LOVED our time and experience at the Rembrandt Experience; so creative, beautifully done and the spicy fragrance was perfect! The young lady who helped us was so kind, welcoming and helpful! We will be back with our family!!!

This was amazing! The experience pulled together the time period, the influences and people that most profoundly effected Rembrandt life. The audio visual components, sounds even smells were like being In Rembrandt own time. His house and workshop come to life. It was immersive and fun. Hearing the voices and learning about his materials was super educational. Also you get a real sense of his financial struggles and the way a rock star artist really has to work. Just loved it and recommend to everyone. A real full adventure and all around pleasure. The team in costumes were great as well. Can take pictures as well. Loved it. 5 stars

Me and my family enjoyed your company a lot when you came to visit our house. We hope to see you again. Next time, Hendrickje will prepare some traditional dutch waffles for you! We were the only 2 there, so we had the place to ourselves. The host was very nice. It was a different approach to explain Rembrandt’s life, and it takes place in two rooms (you move from one to the other). There is a strong scent in both rooms, so someone who is sensitive to smells wouldn’t like this at all. Seemed like some kind of spices smell. Regular price is about 15 euro but this is included in the Amsterdam go city pass.

Dear visitor, Thank you for meeting me at my studio. Hendrickje, Cornelia, Titus and myself really enjoyed your visit. I would ask Hendrickje to refresh the rooms a bit, although most visitors to my studio like the strong scent of a painters workshop! Have a wonderful day, Rembrandt van Rijn

It is a disappointing storytelling about Rembrandt. Waste of money for just 25 minutes. You won’t see anything from Rembrandt, it is just like a kind of tike machine that tells you a bit of history. I strongly recommend you to visit Rembrandt House, which is the original house where he lived and worked and has original work. But avoid this tourist trap at all cost despite the very kind and helpful staff members.

Actually, kind of stumbled upon this while we were in Amsterdam prior to our Rhine River cruise. We decided to check it out and found it to be very interesting and educational. We particularly liked the demonstrations. I would recommend this as an opportunity not only to learn about Rembrandt's life but to also understand the technology of painting masterpieces.

This was a somewhat entertaining introduction to the life of legendary Dutch artist Rembrandt. The story is told through a number of framed moving paintings and revolving walls. The technology does feel a little dated in this day & age but it was fairly enjoyable nonetheless. The extra dimensions were an aroma and a rumbling floor. Only two rooms make up this experience and it only lasts about 20 minutes.

Dear visitor, thank you for visiting my art studio and I really appreciate your review. Great you love Amsterdam and its art and history. Unfortunately you rated your visit to my studio not as I expected as most visitors leave in awe. Maybe observing my work in a museum or gallery would more more interesting for you compared to experiencing my life story through the Magic Lantern in 5D. Sincerely, Rembrandt van Rijn
