- 402tarae0 contributionsCold! Fun and Interesting Night!Apart from the freezing cold the tour was amazing and so was our tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and so we left learning a great deal.Written 11 March 2025
- rebeccafS899GM0 contributionsBrilliant tourAdam was a great guide around the area, with a high level of knowledge on the past of Amsterdam. Having done several tours previously, this was the best by far!Written 2 March 2025
- O3089YGbarbarad0 contributionsRed Light District tourWe chose a 6 pm Saturday evening tour. Our guide, Pilar, provided fascinating information and details about the history of Amsterdam and the industry of prostitution. Two hours well spent. I think the tour would be less informative if taken earlier in the day. I would highly recommend this tour for adults and for mature adolescents. This is not a tour for young children.Written 22 February 2025
- withkay0 contributionsSkip this tourYou would not need to book a tour to enjoy the sightseeing around here. Even though my guide was friendly and pleasantly to be around, don’t waste your money. I got a lot of insights on the reason behind Red Light and a little history as well. I booked this tour based off other reviews and pictures but I don’t get much on my evening besides being frozen.Written 20 February 2025

- wiggs170 contributionsTour was OK at bestTour was OK. The guide was fine but would have liked some more detail as well as the full 2.5hr (was only 1.5). Information was very superficial. Not the best tour I have taken.Written 16 February 2025

Karel is a very friendly tour guide with fantastic sense of humour! He did a very professional job by taking me, my mom and my wife privately to explore Giethoorn as well as sharing everything we wanted to know about Dutch history. Despite the rain, our schedules were running smoothly, boat ride was great, the views were stunning and timing was spot on! After the trip, we left a pair of sunglasses in Karel’s car and he was being so kind by shipping them to our apartment in London after we left Netherlands on the day after our trip.
I would definitely recommend everyone to reach out to Trigger Tours and request Karel to take you around!!

We were visiting Amsterdam for several days in June and took a day trip tour to the quaint village of Giethoorn with Dutch Trips. It was a small organized mini-van pickup which was early by 15 minutes of announced time. The driver immediately handed us bottles of water. There were only seven of us in the van and another van. The ride down to Giethoorn took close to two hours time with a 15 min. break at a local village Aalsmeer where we visited a gift shop and there were public restrooms. In addition, the driver from the other van gave us a bit of history of the area .
Upon arrival, we were offered either a cup of tea /coffee along with a mini
stroopwaffel treat, then we were led to the docked whisper boat for a one hour narrated tour of Giethoorn ( a village with roads that are all in the water). It was an enjoyable boat cruise through the canal in the village where we saw brightly colored houses along bridges that connect the villages together.
After the boat tour, we were given some free time to visit the village of Giethoorn. It was nice to walk through the village of Giethoorn and enjoy the greenery, flowers, and many bridges that cross the canals. Some of the bridges were closed to pedestrian traffic as the residents did not want to be disturbed but overall, everyone was very tolerable
It is a real treat to be able to visit the village of Giethoorn as it is not easy to come via own public transportation from Amsterdam since it involves transfer of trains and they do not run that frequently.
Definitely worth a day trip if you have the time while visiting Amsterdam.

We took a day trip to Giethroon through Trigger tours, with guide William. He made our one day trip very enjoyable. He is a very nice and cordial person. His car was also very comfortable. William and Tony especially arranged for a booster seat for our 4 yr old.
Throughout our trip, it was fun to talk with William. We got to learn about the local Dutch culture, Holland’s history, food and language from him. He has very good English speaking skills which made the communication seamless. William was especially accommodating towards our young children and would keep them entertained through out the trip. After Giethoorn, William also took us to one of the original harbor town Blokzijl, which was welcome addition to our itinerary.
I highly recommend Trigger tours and William as a guide. I would not hesitate to call them back for any of our future excursions.

Giethoorn is so nice! Our guide Rob is the best guide we ever met! Rob had such a bright personality and had much knowledge about Giethoorn. We were with four people but the car had a lot of space so that was no problem. Thank you Rob for such a great day! Wish you all the best :-)

Great small tour using Viator from Amsterdam to Giethoorn. Tour driver, guide, and boat master was Aku. He was very friendly, patient, knowledgeable and flexible. He worked around weather to ensure we had the best experience. Loved the village, especially the small boat tour.

My family and I booked a private tour to Giethoorn with William as our guide, and I must say it was well worth the time and money.
William was an enthusiastic and lovely guide who was very well-versed in the history of Holland. William had driven us from our Airbnb to Giethoorn, and he shared with us during our ride to Giethoorn some of the history of Holland and its geographic nature. He then took us to the canals of Giethoorn during the early (non-peak) hours, where he shared some detailed anecdotes of the place. He was very helpful in that he had recommended the boat ride during non-peak hours, and we were lucky to have not been in the canals when groups of tourists arrived.
As for Giethoorn, it was such a lovely place and so different from Amsterdam. It definitely helped that we had a private tour guide to bring us there, as it wasn't exactly entirely accessible if we had gone on our own.
All in all, I would highly recommend booking a tour through the company and to recommend William as your guide.

The place was amazing! We had a good impression how life in Holland was with fighting against the water, amazing people still live here. It is really the Venice of Holland. Our guide, Rob, gave us a lot of interesting background information about this place and its surroundings. He was very friendly and helpful.
Terrific tour and great guide!
