Overview
Explore Amsterdam through the eyes of a local on this private, 3-hour tour led by a street-savvy guide. Break away from the tourist crowds to discover unique corners of the Dutch capital that showcase the city’s artistic modern culture. Visit a trendy design center, ride the ferry to the hip Noord district, taste authentic Dutch apple pie and more as your private guide reveals the ‘real’ Amsterdam.
What to Expect
Wander off the beaten path with this insider’s tour of Amsterdam’s vibrant modern culture. Meet your private, local guide at the Central Station at your chosen start time, and set off on a walking tour of the city's lesser-known gems that many tourists miss. Along the way, your guide will share local insight and can customize the itinerary to suit your interests.

See where local creative types are leading the contemporary arts scene at a design campus and the Mediamatic arts and technology center. Swing by a local library to check out a current exhibition, and stroll down Haarlemmerstraat, considered the hippest street in the city by those in the know. Stop in at a local cafe to rest your feet and refuel with a slice of delicious Dutch apple pie, and then continue on past some of the city's lesser-known canals often overlooked by tourists.

For a truly local excursion, ride the ferry across the river to the city’s revitalized Noord, or North district, which has drawn flocks of younger residents and families in recent years thanks to its lower prices and up-and-coming cultural vibe. People watch while sipping coffee at a trendy neighborhood bar before bidding farewell to your guide back at the Central Station.

Fabulous day out

What a fabulous day Helena gave us. Took us to places we never knew existed and her local knowledge was second to none. The trip to North Island was the perfect end to a wonderful day. Would highly recommend Helena!

Wonderful tour of old and new Amsterdam

Christa is delightful and knows all the lovely hidden spots of the city. She was also helpful in finding other spots after the visit. Plus, she didn't look at the time and spent more than two hours with us. Totally recommend.

It cost us 25 euros a head for a four people for a three hour walking tour (in fact we spent much longer with our guide for no extra charge). The cost was exactly as advertised.
