About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- soumyanayak550 contributionsAbsolutely Stunning ExperienceOur visit was to be 2 days later. The MeteoSwiss App showed next day to be a clear one while 4 successive days after that to be foggy & rainy with thunderstorms. So, we swapped our plans & visited Mt Titlis the very next day, which turned out to be the best decision. The Ice Flyer costs extra but it's worth the stunning views. The snowtubing activities are included in the Ice Flyer. Do remember that the escalator/travellator to bring the snow tubes uphill, is active during winters only as told by the staff. During my summer visit in June, we had to drag the tubes uphill. The Cliff Walk was also good but it was too windy which reduced the enjoyment. Mt Titlis is the only place in Switzerland to find most number of chiffon saree-clad women, like in Yash Chopra movies. Couple of restaurants on the top, are restricted for "group visits" which means those groups who are through a travel agent & whose lunch is booked prior. We dined at Spice Bistro which is the Indian restaurant near the car parking area. All in all it was a fruitful visit, we enjoyed every bit.Written 6 July 2024
- Dholakia20140 contributionsMagnificent Mt. TitlisWe were there once again...One of many things we will remember for rest of our lives!!! Beautiful surroundings, a few good things to do. Ice flyer was good, and cliff walk was amazing. As it was fall,it wasn't that freezing..Thnk god it was a very clear weather,u(nlike we had in Paris couple of days ago, drizzled all the way)ry cold, Lucky us. Amazing place to visit.Written 17 June 2024
- 784tinae0 contributionsBeautiful! Couple hours here is good.Very beautiful place! The bus tour started in Zurich, stopped at Luzern and ended up in Engelberg. The trip up the mountain was with two different gondolas. Up in 10,000 feet the structure had a viewing platform, couple restaurants, first aid clinic and the other activities. Food was expensive in the sit down restaurant, service was so so. I got altitude sickness and had to leave.Written 24 January 2024
- ZfyEd0 contributionsAmazing experience and good to revisit again! This is our revisit after our previous visit back in 2014. And it's really good to be back here and the scenery remains amazing and stunning! In order to reach the top, visitors will need to take 2 cable cars up, with the 2nd, rotair, that provides visitors a 360-degree turning view. Upon reaching the highest point, it's snowy white landscape despite being summer! Titlis snows all year around. However, we realized that this place is no longer as cold/freezing as before, probably due to climate change. We used to dress heavy with head gear and gloves to stay warm then but not this time round! We didn't feel that cold (only with windbreaker on) and some how we felt it's colder in Japan's Mount Fuji! Having said that, it's wonderful feeling here (as it was so hot and sunny everywhere). We walked outside in the snow, tracked the bridge and also the ice gallery inside. There are souvenir shops, restaurants and ice cream parlour here and you can enjoy them especially after trekking outside in the snow. We spent about 3 hrs here before coming down by 4pm. It's great to come back here and the scenery here remains so nice and we felt we were closed to our mother's nature! Highly recommended.Written 28 June 2023
- BlessedAloy0 contributionsGo EarlyWe ascended Titlis from Luzern via Engelberg. Start early so that you can avoid the crowd. My recommendation is to go all the way up and explore the place first. This will allow you better opportunities for phototaking and space to enjoy the peace/silence before the tour groups come in. You can visit the stations at the lower level on your way down as tour groups are not likely to drop by these stations.Written 28 May 2023
- 1november240 contributionsAn unforgettable experience! An unforgettable experience! The full ticket price was 96 francs. You can check the webcam on the official website before going up, to see the weather conditions. If it's foggy, it's not worth going. But in many cases (like mine), there was fog in Engelberg with bad weather, while on Titlis, it was clear and beautiful, and there was no wind at all. The cable car changes only once at Stand station, so when you reach Trubsee station, stay in the cable car, do not get off.Written 26 May 2023
- Ujaan G S0 contributionsGreat but very coldThis was 21st May . I went to Zurich HB to Luzerne to Engelberg. We got tickets and they were amazing 👏 . We got up through cable cars then through rotair and reached. We walked the cliff walk. It was very windy 😐 but not too windy. We ate ice cream 🍦 for dessert at lunch. Try to take the free shuttle bus to Titlis. You will get your tickets there and then go through cable carsWritten 21 May 2023
- Natalie N0 contributionsGreat tripOther than the fact i have a fear of heights and this was the most petrifying and eerie experience of my life, this was a great trip. My son loved it. We took the cable first cable car up and then the rotating cable car. There was snow and cloud so we didn't have much of a view from the rotating cable car or the bridge at the top (which is probably just as well for me!) My son loved being up there in snow. It was mins 6 degrees but actually felt okay. I would recommend going up on a clear day. You can look at the webcams on their website to see how clear it is. Plenty of restaurant options and lots of gift shops. Don't miss the rubber rings on Trubsee. They were fun.Written 16 May 2023
- colins2510 contributionsSun, snow, suspension bridge, cave and flyerA great day at Tiflis! An easy walk from Engleberg Station to the first of the Gondalas to Tiflis. Our Tell Pass included all Titlis activities in the cost which was great value. The views were stunning and it snowed while we were there which was a bonus. The suspension bridge walk was a great experience and provided additional views. A walk through the Glacier is included and was also a rewarding experience. Our tickets included the “flyer” which is an open air trip in a large chairlift over the snow and mountain and was exhilarating. We ate at the restaurant there and enjoyed a reasonably priced meal along with more great views. Make sure you wear appropriate clothing including footwear as the snow and ice can be slippery and cold. Well worth the trip!Written 15 May 2023

- jorges8110 contributionsProbably the highest this Floridian will climb. Had a blast!I'm from warm Florida and taking the Gondolas to the top of Titlis was...creepy. Once up there and taking it all in, it was a phenomenal experience. Did the Cliff Walk, the Glacier Cave and even some Snow Tubing! My day there was VERY snowy, snow seem to come sideways and even underneath..it was surreal! I don't see myself summiting Everest, so this may be the closest I'll ever get.Written 28 March 2023
- Aditi G0 contributionsAmazing experienceGreat experience, must visit place - but you should go early so that you get full time to watch and enjoyWritten 15 December 2022
- Hugo W0 contributionsWorth the visit! This Review refers to the Pizzeria Restaurant on top of Mount Titlis. There is probably no need to say just how breath taking the view from the Observation Deck of Mount Titlis is, that alone is worth every cent that you have to pay to get up there. We wanted to have lunch in the Pizzeria, we were at first rudely told that there was no seating for us, not so much because there were no spaces, but the man made lots of comments that he was alone and that he could only serve so many people. We saw some empty seats and pointed to these, he said that we can have these, but would have to wait a long time to order and eat. We decided to stay. In no time did he come back with the Menu, took our order and the food was quickly to arrive. He soon lightened up, when we commented about the quality of the Prosecco that he had just served us. The service then went from 'leaves much to desire' to 'very good'. The Food was fantastic as well, so much so that we ordered a Dessert too. I would certainly recommend the Pizzeria on Titlis, well worth a visit!Written 25 November 2022
- Soung-Phoenix0 contributionsDo itOne of many things we will remember for rest of our lives!!! Beautiful surroundings, a few good things to do. Ice flyer was good, and cliff walk was amazing. Very cold, so bring jackets and globes. Lucky us, they actually rent jackets so we didn't freeze. But bringing it. For photo, get the larger size for the cliff walk, but smaller size should do for ice flayer. Amazing place to visit.Written 13 October 2022

Due to landing in Zurich on a clear sunny day we decided to visit Mt Titlis on the way to our accommodation in Lauterbrunnen. It was expensive, but the views were amazing once at the top. We stayed at the top for about 4-5 hours (2 adults, 11 and 8 year old) admiring the views, going on the ice flyer chair lift, exploring the (small) ice cave, buying far too much Swiss chocolate, having lunch with amazing views and playing in the snow. The cable car journeys up and down were also great. Towards the end of our time up the mountain it started snowing and the view very quickly disappeared. With the cost definitely make sure you have a clear day before making this trip as otherwise you will be very disappointed.

We were a group of 8 including 4 children. The children were going to have their first snow experience and so all of us were really excited!!
As advised by people on the internet, we purchased the ticket on the day of the journey after checking the weather and live webcam on titlis official website. That proved to be a good call as we went on a day when it was not very cold (it was still -4 degrees!!) and the views were great!! The tickets can be purchased from any train station in Switzerland.
The ride from the base station at Engelberg to the top was very smooth and very scenic. We were so engrossed in taking pics of the scenery outside that we forgot to click our pics inside the cablecar. The rotair was the highlight!!
The views from the top were breathtaking!! We also went for the ride on the iceflyer and also took a walk on the cliff walk.
Advice - Check the weather before going, keep yourself warm and don't forget the sunglasses!!

Titlis Mountain at Engelberg is the most popular snow mountain & skiing hub near Zurich. It only takes 40 mins if you take the train from Luzcern. It's over 3,200m in height & one of its best selling points is it has snow 365 days a year. We are both non-skiers but we still had a great time there, which included the 2 cable cars rides (inc the rotating 360c Titlis Rotair) , the Cliff Walk, the Glacier Cave, the Ice Flyer... there's also a restaurant, 2 gift shops (i.e. one of them is at the foot of the cable car station) & a observatory. The scenery of the Alps were picturesque & breathtaking!
We had Swiss Travel Passes so it's half price ($44CHF) The price included return cablecars to/ from the top of Titlis, the Cliff Walk & the Glacier Cave. Ice Flyer costs extra $12CHF but it's totally worth it.
Highly Recommended if you're nearby.

We took the Zentralbahn railway from Lucerne to Engelberg(45 minutes, free with Swiss Travel Pass) and walked to the Mt. Titlis station. It was a cold, foggy day, we bought tickets(60CHF with 50% off with Swiss Travel Pass) at the train station information desk and we were able to see a computer monitor that showed what the weather was on top of the mountain. It was clear with blue sky. You take a gondola, Titlis Express to Trubsee and stay on and get off at Stand and switch to the Rotair which takes you to the top(takes about 30 minutes to get to the top). When we started at the bottom everything was socked in and you couldn't see anything but after we switched to the Rotair we came through the clouds and it was blue sky with full sun. It was beautiful! There is snow on top of the mountain year round. We walked the suspension bridge(highest in Europe) and rode the Ice Flier(chairlift over the glacier(12CHF), and went in the Glacier Cave(free). Would recommend wearing/bringing coat, hat, gloves for on top of the mountain. You can see for miles and miles the Swiss Alps from the observation deck. We watched the skiers and snowboarders from the restaurant and outside on the patio. There are shops and two restaurants on top and more at Trubsee. Highly recommend going and it is much more affordable than Jungfraujoch.

Take a train from Lucern to Engelberg which departs every 1 hour. There is a 10-mins walk from Engelberg to Titlis cable car station (though there is a regular bus service as well). But I will recommend taking a walk along the water stream.
If one has already bought the ticket online, then it is fine. Else, one can buy at Engelberg station as well. The queue for buying ticket at Titlis cable car station was too long.
There are two cable cars one has to take to reach mount titlis. One normal and other is Rotair (which rotates 360 degree – though the speed is too slow)
Once you reach the mount titlis, there are glacier cave and cliff walk.
While buying the ticket, one can also buy the ticket for chair lift (additional CHF 12). The chair lift will take you to glacier park where one can enjoy unlimited snow tubbing and sledging (its ticket is included in ticket for chair lift).
While coming back, one will strongly recommend stopping at Trubsee and spend some time on the lake. If interested, one can explore a few activities there like zip lining. Not many people stop at Trubsee so it is more serene than titlis.

Was hoping Titlis Bahnen and Engelberg Tourisim value their customers and long term friends.
However, recent pricing changes (dynamic pricing) are very disappointing and I am afraid I cannot agree with this new strategy.
In fact, as a customer you pay more and get less.
I am wondering when Titlis Bahnen and Engelberg Tourism will demonstrate their appreciation for loyal customers, including holiday home owners in Engelberg, e.g. thinking of attractive products or pricing. Just to be clear, these loyal customers we provide long term commitment and helped during challenging recent times.

We visited on a day trip from Zurich, and unfortunately due to a snow storm the peak was closed. Despite our disappointment the views from the cable car and the middle station were enough to make this the highlight of our trip. Everywhere you turned it was a picturesque landscape with snowcapped trees and fluffy snow.. even the hoards of other tourists couldn't dampen our spirits.
Having said that, there isn't much to do at the middle station (we saw a couple of skiers but even they weren't skiing much) so do pray hard that you'll be blessed with good weather!
ps. the restaurant at the middle station serves really good fries

I was underwhelmed at the top of the mountain. Probably because we visited Pilatus earlier in the week and that was amazing, but the views from the top of Mt. Titlis were not that impressive. However, my biggest complaint is that the ride up on the revolving cable car was jammed packed with people. Even without Covid they stuff as many people as they can into the car. You could hardly move.
What we really did enjoy was at the end of the ski-lift (before boarding the rotating cable car) you can walk around the lake, have a picnic (or visit one of the restaurants) and just enjoy the view. We stopped at Alpstubli am Trubsee and just had some drinks and looked at the mountain. You also can take boats & kayaks out on the lake here

We spent most of a day visiting this mountain with family. We bought tickets for Mt Titlis. We stopped at the lake after the first cable car and loved the undulating walk around the lake, before having a casual lunch at a restaurant on the lake. There were many family playgrounds and a lot of happy families. Some were grilling, some had dogs. Cows with bells added to the atmosphere.
After lunch we took the next leg of the cable car and then the final rotary car to the top, with a view of the glacier. There were a number of activities for summer at the top, including a walk in a glacial cave.
There was plenty of car parking.

We took the train from Zurich via Lucerne to Engelberg. Then up to 10,000 feet with the gondolas. No problems whatsoever, you really don’t need to pay extra money and spend extra hours going with some tourbuses. The view from 3000 mtrs is just amazong. Before you go, please check the weatherreport, if it’s snowing or cloudy you don’t necessarily see anything.

Hello. May i know if this trip starts at a certain time in the morning to know how to plan my trip right? Also I need to rent winter clothes so need to align this with the trip’s start time ahead of this. Thank you.

If I recall it correctly the cable cars operate continuously from 8 am to 5 pm. Better to keep some margin. We visited in October end so it was surely freezing at the top, so do out on some winter gear

We are landing in Zurich from Mumbai at early morning hours, is advisable visiting Mr.Titlis on the very first day after high altitude flight from Mumbai.

Yes of course you can. Just be aware of
1) the weather. Make sure the day you visited Titlis is on a clear sky day
2) From Zurich to Titlis, if you take the train, you'd need to arrived Zurich HB, then take the train to Lucerne, & change from Lucerne to Engelberg to arrive Titlis. It's not a short journey so please ensure you'll have enough time to do it
3) need to think about where you leave your luggage as you won't want to carry your luggage with you, I don't think you can carry big luggage onto the cable car

Is this excursion guided or is it just the entry tickets? I assumed it was not guided but the itinerary shows a distinct amount of time for each event and a total time for the trip.

Anyone had a day of tobogganing? Are there shops to rent snow gear, i.e. ski jacket, pants, if needed ski goggles? Anything else to do in Engelberg besides outdoor activities, such as restaurants, shopping? Is there usually enough snow to toboggan end of December, first few days of Jan? Thanks!

We loved our tour of the Engelberg Benedictine Monastery. Please read TripAdvisor reviews of this historic abbey. We highly recommend the Mt. Titlis visit. Back to the indoors—the Bierlalp Italian Restaurant was good. I just hope you don’t get the one server who seemed ticked off that we did not speak Italian (she spoke no English).

I will be travelling with my 80 year old mother who is quite fit but she is not keen on open chair lifts. Cable cars would be fine. To get to snow, would we need to get an open chair lift? We don't need to play in snow, just to walk and touch it. We will be there in early September next year. Thanks.

Hi 697julietl,
I very recently traveled with my parents (both 60+) in July and it was fine.
Definitely there was much reduced oxygen at Titlis peak but overall manageable. By Titlis peak I mean the point that Rotair takes you to.
There is enough snow at Titlis peak to play, experience, make snowman, slide etc.
Ice Flyer is something that I felt wasn't really necessary to experience snow and I personally found it a bit scary too.
Good Luck!
