      Cooking Class Extraordinaire!!
We were lucky enough to have two cooking lessons with Francesco and Giulia! We went one week with friends and the next week with family. There were alot of allergies and constraints with diet. Francesca and Giulia took the time to plan the best menu with me for the different groups. Not only was the food outstandingly delicious, but Francesca and Giulia are such welcoming people and excellent teachers. This is not to be missed. I highly recommend anyone in the Siena area to add this to their itinerary. Thank you again for a lovely, yummy experience.

      Italian Cooking Class in Siena
This experience was amazing! Lella was amazing as well as her sous chef and her interpreter Julie. You can tell that Lella is incredibly passionate about cooking because it shows in her food as well as her teaching. We learned how to make homemade spaghetti by hand, soup, pasta sauce (the best!) pork lion with potatoes and panna cotta! Everything was honestly delicious! The class was also very fun! I highly recommend!!

      Best meal in Siena!
We just came back from a cooking class; if you’re looking for a truly authentic Tuscan experience with food then this is the place to go!!! The kitchen is gorgeous, the chef we had, Francesco, was skilled and professional! The food we/they prepared was some of the best food we’ve ever eaten. We have taken cooking classes around the world and this place is at the top!! Can’t wait to try these fabulous recipes again, once back home!

      Cooking with Lella
We had originally signed up for 1 cooking class during our 2 week stay in Siena but enjoyed the first one so much that we signed up for a second class the following week. Each class covered different classic Tuscan recipes and techniques so we learned a broad range of skills and a lot of Tuscan culinary history. Lella was a patient, warm and effective instructor and her sense of humor kept us all engaged during the classes. At the conclusion of each class we had the pleasure of eating our “projects” for dinner accompanied by good local wines and a lot of fascinating conversations with our fellow students. If you are at all interested in the history, traditions and techniques of classic Tuscan cooking, I highly recommend spending 4 delightful hours with Lella, Julie and Francesco.

Must-do in Seina! Best meal I had in Italy!
I cannot imagine our trip to Siena without our cooking class with Lella! This is a must-do!!!! Whether you are a big foodie, experienced cook, or just love to try something new and don't know anything about cooking, it's such a great experience. And the food you help make is incredible. Lella is a legend - her skill and tips are incredible and her passion for teaching and cooking is so evident. Her assistants make sure everything is great and everyone is having a good time and especially that the food is amazing. Four courses, all the tips and recipes for the meal. The value for free is just awesome. Don't miss out!

      Lella's Cooking School, Siena
Before leaving Australia for our holiday in Italy, we researched cooking schools and found this one. So glad we did. We had an incredible night with Lella. We ended up being the only two there, so had complete one on one time, which was brilliant. We helped to make 6 dishes. Our starter was Pearl (quenelle) of cheese with pear, kale and honey. Second was Pici, which was the most fun making. It is handmade thick spaghetti and is a local Sienese traditional pasta. This was served with a tomato garlic sauce. Simple but bursting with flavour. Main was a deliciously juicy fillet steak and balsamic olive oil dressing, with souffle potatoes. Dessert was a Crostata di Marmellata (Jam Crostata). Servings were generous, with wine of the region to go with the meals. Lella was an absolute professional and is generous in imparting her decades of knowledge through her English speaking interpreter. Over 4 hours, we had the best evening.

      Excellent!
My college-aged daughter and I took the 4-hour class and it was absolutely wonderful! The recipes were just the right level of difficulty for us. Challenging enough to learn a lot, but not too crazy to be daunting. The food we made was delicious and we devoured it! Francesco & Julie made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this school. It was worth every penny!

      Cooking Lesson
A group of 13 gathered in the Cooking School’s kitchen, guided by our chef Francesca, assisted by his interpreter Julia. They explained that they tried to source as much as possible ingredients from the Siena/Tuscan region. The menu for the day certainly reflected the use of fresh, local ingredients. All the group had a chance to make spaghetti from scratch, while others helped along the way cutting, chopping, mixing. The evening concluded enjoyably with the group eating the meal we had helped prepare, accompanied by some local Chianti wine. We all received copies of the recipes we had prepared. A great way to experience Tuscan cuisine.

      a fun night for all
There were 8 of us in the class, all English speaking . Our grown kids were with us and we all loved the class. The recipes were in English , but good to bring a pen to notate as Lella cooks . We ate amazing food and made our own pasta in this vegetarian class. The soup was so incredible I cannot wait to make it. Lella gave instructions in Italian and a woman translated as she spoke. It was 100 euro a person but worth it not only for the recipes but the experience . The classroom is very well equipped and is close to the Cathedral in town, but a steep downhill. I think there may be another way to get there without the steep downhill. Lella can call you a cab if that is helpful at the end of the class

      The Perfect Cooking Class Experience
My wife and I took a cooking class with Lella and it was one of our favorite experiences of our honeymoon. The space is large and clean and Lella had already prepared many of the ingredients when we arrived. We had so much delicious food starting including pappa pomodoro (soup with tomatoes and bread), fried zucchini flowers, hand-made pici pasta with a pecorino cheese sauce, steak, and a dessert tart - all of which we made ourselves! The class took 4 hours, but the time flew by and at the end we had an incredible meal! We would highly recommend spending an evening with Lella!

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and evening in Sienna. Lela and her compatriots (Marguerita and Francesco) made us feel so very welcome and watching Lela was indeed watching a master at work. We learned so much and the food was marvelous. We also enjoyed the other students who attended the class. It was like eating with extended family. This was such a treat and one of the highlights of our extended stay in Italy and Sienna. Do yourselves a favor and book a class. You will not regret it.

The food was very good, and there were a lot of cooking tips that even an owner of a restaurant who has 20+ years cooking experience did not know. It suddenly made sense when you learned about it. You personally get hands on and they provide the recipes for you to take home with you. You will need to take additional notes though otherwise it probably won’t be the same. You make an appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert. By far the second course and dessert was everyone’s favorite. It is not an extremely crowded space either and easy to get to. It is slightly confusing to find but it’s inside the building to the right then to the left. Our family really enjoyed this and will definitely recommend!

What a wonderful evening, fabulous chef, his interpreter/assistant was so delightful and could periodically make the room laugh. Francesco, the chef, was so good at his trade and helpful when we took our turn over the stove or preparing. When we were all through cooking a lovely table was set for the 11 of us and we enjoyed our yummy meal.

Highly recommend!! Excellent and very fun! The chefs were friendly and knowledgeable — and very patient with a room full of novices. The explanations regarding how each dish should be prepared were clear with some group participation in each step. We all made the pasta which was very fun! And then the meal — amazing!!! Easily the best meal I’ve had in Italy so far, with the exception of dinner at Gallo Nero in Siena, which was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Took the class with my college age daughter and she had a wonderful time too. The other students were friendly and we all had a great time at the end eating the four course meal together.

One of our favorite memories of this trip was our cooking class at Scuola di Cucina di Lella. Francesco led our class, he and his assistant provided a welcoming experience providing great instruction and encouragement throughout. Traveling with teenagers, we were looking for something the whole family could participate in (something other than sight-seeing). We really enjoyed this experience - from preparing the food to enjoying the meal afterward. We strongly recommend this Tuscan Cooking Class, it was a great evening and great family memories.

This cooking class is amazing! Our class had only 6 people in it which was nice but imagine it would have been just as good with more. You get detailed recipes to take home and are able to take notes throughout the session. Everything is explained very clearly and the whole lesson is easy to follow. In my class we had a man who had been there the week prior. They changed the menu at the last minute to ensure that he had a new experience which was a very nice touch. You could go many times and still have things to learn and new recipes to try. Thank you for the amazing experience Chef Lella.

My husband and I aren’t major league foodies, but we’ve made a couple of Tuscan dishes at home and decided to give this class a try. It met and succeeded our expectations. A bright, convivial setting in Lela’s professional kitchen, a full dinner’s worth of recipes, opportunities for people taking the class to participate in the preparation, and printed take-home recipes for note-taking. Lela’s lessons are in Italian (clearly spoken if you know some of the language), but an English speaking translator familiar with the details and techniques conveyed all we needed to understand. Fine to take photos. The class time moved by with no lags or boredom — all was well organized. The class members (8 or 10 of us) sat down at the end together to eat what we had prepared, drink wine, and relax.

My fiancée and I booked this class for our last day in Siena & it was probably my favorite thing we did throughout our weeklong trip in Italy!

Francesco, who was an excellent instructor, led our class of 5, which was nice because it allowed us to get a little more individualized help when needed. We made a full 4 course meal of Tuscan dishes & everything was absolutely outstanding! It was great experience, and learning to make traditional Tuscan pasta was extremely cool - I can't wait to start making it at home!

I cannot recommend this class enough, we both had such a great time!

This was a fun, informative cooking class that ended in an excellent four course meal, that we all helped prepare, plus a nice red wine. The majority of the class was spent making the pasta dough, which each person then hand rolled into the classic Tuscan pasta called Pici. Our class included folks with a wide range of backgrounds and ages, from couples to families spanning three generations. Everyone had a great time. I highly recommend this after spending a nice day exploring Siena.

This is a great way to spend a few hours in Siena and truly experience the culture. Lelli is a wonderful instructor who does not speak English, but no worries she has a team including interpreter. We cooked a full meal, and then enjoyed together with our “classmates”. Uses a lot of fresh ingredients, well prepared and organized, clean kitchen, and you leave with recipes for meal!

The session we booked was brilliant! Our first time having a cookery class and it was even better than we expected. There were about 12 of us and the chef and his co presenter were amazing facilitators. They bounced off each other and made a great team. They kept the session fun and engaging and it was good to have the lesson in Italian and English as we picked up more Italian words for future trips.
Everything was so organised and the presentation parts were really polished. It was lovely to sit down for a 4 course meal and wine after with the group and our meal.
I honestly couldn't fault this class, we were nervous to do it but as soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel at home and it was an experience we will never forget (for all the right reasons!).
