About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Troy B0 contributionsBuyer beware before booking this tourWhen I read about it being an e-bike tour I thought the bikes could propel themselves and you could peddle as much or as little as you wanted throughout the tour. In the US we have full electric bikes and I incorrectly assumed they were the same here. Our guide Dominic was very patient and did a great job explaining the bikes and made sure everyone was ready before we began our tour. We started in Siena and had to peddle up some very steep hills and descend some steep inclines in heavy traffic and stay on the white line to the right. Cars were very close and it was a scary experience for some being so close to the cars and trucks. Once we got into the country with less traffic it was more enjoyable until we hit a gravel road that was difficult to ride with the loose gravel and ruts along the path that lasted about 20 minutes before we got to a smooth roadway again. We stopped for a nice lunch at a working farm with a winery and olive production which is typical in the Chianti region. Some decided to end the tour and take a cab back to the starting point. The tour back was shorter than the first leg, but was very congested heading back into Siena. It was hard to relax in the traffic and it took great concentration to stay carefully on the white line on the right, not hit the tires in front of you and wait for cars and trucks to pass around you when two way traffic cleared. I enjoyed the tour, but I would not have chosen it for several members of our group if I had understood the bikes were only electric assist and not fully electric with peddling optional. Also, all directions in your tour information to the starting point need to have an exact address to enter into our GPS. Some had the train station and the one we looked at to confirm the tour just had 53100 Siena which just led us to the city and not the train station. We ended up being 15 minutes late and held up other members of the staff and guests. If we had had the GPS coordinates we would have been 15 minutes early. If you are not in good physical condition and use to biking over 20 miles I would not recommend this tour. If you are in good physical condition make sure you do not mind riding half the tour in heavy traffic and staying in the far white line to avoid traffic coming up and around you. It is a better tour for experienced bikers and those who can use partially assisted e-bikes.Written 31 October 2024
- Roam593587488260 contributionsGreat tastings with wonderful guideVery nice tour! Our guide Paolo was so nice and very knowledgeable about the area, the wine and wine production. We visited 3 vineries and the tours we got and tastings were excellent. We had lunch at the second vineyard which was very special - cooked by the mum in their home and the daughter joined us for lunch so we could ask loads of questions :-) We had a lot of fun and the group of 8 people in total was perfect. A very nice day out!Written 28 October 2024
- tracystravels0 contributionsTuscan Classics Wine ClassI had the pleasure of learning about wine during the Tuscan Classics Wine Class led by winemaker Mattia Barzhagi. We drank good wine, and learned so much about the local wine region’s practices, certifications, and different kinds of wine. The class was two hours but he stayed overtime to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend this activity.Written 27 October 2024

- EmeraldToo0 contributionsFabulous and educationalElio was our guide for this tour. His knowledge and education of the town of Siena was outstanding. He was open to all and any questions, encouraging group participation. Elio easily spoke to us of the facts and stories behind the sites we visited. He stayed aware of his group, some of us faster than others 😉. An outstanding guide, Trip Advisor is lucky to have such an employee. The pride and love for his town was apparent the entire tour.Written 27 October 2024
- Inspire574791947210 contributionsA great experience!Thank you to our guide Paulo - super knowledgeable, passionate and thoughtful. We had a great time, exploring the Chianti region visiting three wineries, trying local food and learning about the history, environment and wine. Paolo brought it all to life.Written 26 October 2024
- Madeline73520 contributionsA must have experience! My husband, sister, and brother in law had a fantastic time on this tour! Our tour guide Francesco was wonderful and so knowledgeable about the area and Brunello wine. The wineries we visited were small, family run places and were not commercial at all. We had a fantastic lunch at one winery in the winemakers home prepared by his wife. A must have experience.Written 24 October 2024

- KarenJP740 contributionsAmazing, personable, guides! We went on 2 fabulous tours with 2 amazing guides. Kekko for San Gimignano and Chianti, and Guillermo for Val d’Orcia. Had a fabulous homemade lunch at a vineyard with a lovely family on our Chianti tour, and saw amazing scenery and were very entertained by Guillermo in Val d’Orcia. Truly a great tour company- very down-to-earth, informal, knowledgeable, and organized! And, one of the few trips I’ve gone on where I wasn’t pressured (or even asked at all) to write a review- which made me want to write one even more!! Thanks!!Written 20 October 2024
- jwjunebug430 contributionsProbably the best wine tour I’ve been onPhenomenal! We had Guillermo as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about Italy’s history, not just Tuscany. Funny and quite enjoyable. The 3 vineyards were small and very accessible - meaning, we could actually walk up to the conveyor belt while the producers were sparring the grapes. We could stand there, talk with them and even taste the grapes! I’ve been to wine tasting tours throughout the world and this tour has got to be the best and most enjoyable that I’ve been on. Good young wines. Such nice and authentic Vintners and tour guide. Lovely homes and good food to go along with our wine. I bought from two vineyards, but never felt pressured to purchase.Written 18 October 2024

- visit_Saint_Louis0 contributionsThe perfect Brunello wine tour! Our guide, Daniel, and assistant Juliana were very informative, helpful and friendly! Everyone in the group enjoyed wonderful scenery, information from the winery hosts --and Daniel especially. It was exactly the kind of wine tour we were hoping for! There were extra stops along the way, providing everyone with many photo opportunities. We learned a lot, and enjoyed great wines and a wonderful lunch. Thank you! Well worth the price.Written 15 October 2024

Mattia (our guide) was not only extremely knowledgeable about the wines and wine making process, but also told us about the history and traditions of the places we traveled through and visited. The evening meal at a small wine producer and organic farm was excellent - good local produce and wines. Would highly recommend.

We had one of the most incredible tours during a plethora of travels; the sites, the food, the locations but most of all, the guide William! William was knowledgeable, entertaining, fun and knew exactly how to keep everyone delighted to the very end (a hilarious bus ride karaoke sing along to Abba “Mamma Mia!”) The wine tour was delightful, quick stop in Monteriggioni but just enough time to check off the completed box, a lovely couple of hours in San Giaminano, enough time to know to return and a delicious and plentiful dinner. Everyone in our group from three generations and different countries all had an amazing time. Thank you William, you are the Super Trouper!

Our tour guide, Guglielmo (aka, William, Bill, Billy, Will) was bravissimo! He really takes pride in his work and to communicate in English. We were so impressed with his knowledge of the region, the wines and so many other topics he made this a phenomenal excursion. We shared the van with two couples traveling a month in Italy and another younger couple. The eight of us had so much fun and Guglielmo was the center of it. Our two stops at Terre di Sovernaja owned by Federico Montagnani and Montemorli run by 3 brothers, Carlo, Vittorio and Guido were great. The wines were great and the Pizza Night at Montemorli at a farm-to-table outdoor setting was the best dinner. The pizza was cooked in a wood fire oven with several different toppings. I was so stuffed and wanted to eat more. A great great experience overall.

The countryside was spectacular. I enjoyed free time in the villages, and all that was included on this tour. The high point was the dinner at a local farm/vineyard. First of all, the setting was stunning. But the warm and personal nature of the meal:cooked by the Mother, in their home, was the high point. We sat and ate with the family. It was such an authentic experience , which I will treasure the memory for years to come.
I also want to single out our guide, Necco (sp?). He went out of his way to ensure that I had safe transportation home. That was above and beyond what he had to do, at the end of a very long day. My sincere thanks go out to him.

The tour was great with two major highlites. First was a small family, multi- generational vineyard that still employs traditional Italian grape growing and wine producing techniques, known as La Fattoria di Montemorli. During the winery tour, we saw and learned a lot about not just the wine, but also about their family and history, and they were all very personable and willing to engage us and share thier lives with us. The tasting itself was great and included wines, their olive oil, and some light appetizers all hosted in a great outdoor tasting room with great views of the vineyards and surrounding farms. The second highlite was a wonderful dinner at Carmela's B&B that featured wonderfully authentic and tradtional meal. Delicious! Our tour guide was Daniel and his passion for the tour sites and knowledge of the area, its history and wine production added another layer of insights and enjoyment to this tour. He took us down some lesser traveled roads that allowed for rarer vantage points and a unique experience. We would highly recommend this tour!

This was one of our favorite tours while we were in Italy for 3 weeks. Daniel was an excellent tour guide - knowledgeable of the wine making process, the local area, and back roads. Our highlight of the trip was the stop at a vineyard run by 3 brothers - all on site and willing to chat with us! They provided tasty appetizers to go along with the wine tasting which helped fill our tummies until our delicious and authentic Italian dinner at the Carmela's B&B. Our stops at San Gimignano and Monteriggioni were quick but sufficient. We highly recommend this tour!

Our guide, Guillermo, was so knowledgeable and fun to interact with that our time just flew by. The private wine tasting was excellent as well as the sunset farm dinner later. Being able to meet the owners of these small businesses and hear about their livelihoods really makes one appreciate the hard work that goes into producing quality products. San Gimignano was a delight to walk around. We had plenty of time on our stops to explore and it was nice to let someone else do the driving and navigating! Well worth the money!!

This is the third time we've taken this tour. Even though the weather was miserable, it was still a wonderful afternoon and evening. Booking and paying was done easily with responsive staff. Our guide Giglielmo was wonderful: knowledgeable, fun and so great at making sure everything worked well for each of us. I can't recommend this company and their tours highly enough. This is the sixth tour we've taken with them in 3 visits to Siena.

Keko was our tour guide and he made the trip perfect from beginning to end. Giving us lots of information about the towns we visited, the Sienese people, the wines and so much more. We went to a lovely winery for a Chianti tasting and on to Monteriggioni and San Gimignano which were just so charming . Had time for exploring and shopping of course! Keko then took us to a Tuscan farmhouse where we all sat down and enjoyed a fabulous dinner together, drinking wine and enjoying all our new friends made on the trip. Thanks to Keko for making this such a wonderful, informational and enjoyable trip!

My brothers and I signed up for this tour and couldn’t have been happier. William was our guide and he was excellent. Not only was he knowledgeable in wines but also in history, politics, and culture. He was funny and had a story for every occasion. The farms we visited were hospitable, the hosts were gracious and passionate about their offerings, and the wines were delicious. An absolute must when travelling to this area.
