About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ToddSoCal7140 contributionsSee Florence upclose and with a breeze with LucaWe had an amazing time exploring Florence in an electric golf cart! Our guide, Luca (with 1 'c'), was exceptional. Not only does he speak five languages, but he's also incredibly patient and attentive, especially with slower or older individuals. He took special care of my father, who has difficulty hearing, and tailored the tour to focus on things that piqued my dad's interest. Luca’s knowledge of the city's history and local dining spots was impressive. We’re already considering another tour with him next year, and I only wish we could spend an entire day with Luca. Highly recommended!Written 26 September 2024
- 360allyh0 contributionsAn amazing trip around FlorenceThank you Luca for the most amazing 2 hour tour of Florence. Our first time and we feel like we know Florence so much both historically and geographically.Written 30 July 2024
- victoriagE179LE0 contributionsA great way to see FlorenceA brilliant tour, would definitely recommend Eco tours and our guide, Luca. A great way to see all major sites in a short space of time and much better than a walking tour in the heat of July! Our guide was friendly and informative and asked if we wanted to tailor the tour to take in any particular sites of interest. He included the children in some little games along the way and offered to take pictures of us too. Thanks for a great tour, Luca!Written 29 July 2024
- vrappleyea0 contributionsAmazing tour with Francesco!! :)We had an incredible time on our tour with Francesco!!! It was one of the best and most entertaining tours we have ever been on and it was a blast from beginning to end! Francesco taught us so much about the city and we got to learn about his family and life in Florence as well. We also got introduced to some fabulous disco music! We love you Francesco!Written 26 July 2024
- shony130 contributionsA private two hour tour that I would highly recommend! We organised this tour through our hotel and it was fantastic! We did a private 2 hour tour and as it was hot in Florence we requested at start time of 8am, which we got! It was great to see Florence at this time of the day before it got too busy. Travelling with my elderly mother, it was made even better that our tour guide, Luca, collected us and dropped us back to our hotel once the tour was over. Luca was very knowledgeable and spoke good English and had a great sense of humour! We both thoroughly enjoyed this tour and learnt a lot about Florence and Italy. This two hour tour was excellent as we got to go out of the centre and into some of the surrounding hills. We got a Birds Eye view of Florence and saw some beautiful residential areas. I would definitely recommend this tour along with Luca!Written 19 July 2024

- endoedibles0 contributionsExpansiveLess busy than Accademia, with a more expansive collection of both paintings and sculpture, Uffizi Gallery was constructed in the 1500s and currently contains an array of Renaissance masterpieces. Identifiable by the statues (and lines) out front guests can expect to spend 1-3 hours here depending on their affinity for Primitive paintings and portraits.Written 24 May 2024
- eja1170 contributionsYou can do it on the fly...or at least I could.Everything I read/saw suggested Florence has 3 major attractions. The Duomo, the Accademia with David, and the Uffizi, and that in one day you can really only do two. I'm here to tell you I day tripped from Rome with spouse and teen and managed to do all three and had a solid lunch, and walked on that bridge, and went into the house Dante was born in, and had a little leisure time, and actually caught an early train back, right in the middle of April. I'm not sure my experience was typical or the most full, but I did it. We had skip the line tickets for the top of the Duomo at 9am and we were probably done there by 10:30am. Then I think it was too early for lunch and Florence is so small we just got in line at Uffizi and were able to get it. It wasn't even that long of a line and moved ok. Don't let the crowds scare you off in and of itself. The map in the gallery is very helpful and I got to see a TON (everything?)of what I wanted to see. I'm not claiming to be an art expert but I loved BOTH my art history classes in college and was blown away. We were probably only there about an hour and a half. It's a big place, but it's not as big as say...the Met. Definitely some crowds. A bit of security. In some ways I was glad not to be with a tour group slowing us down or limiting us to what they want us to see.Written 19 May 2024

This is the best thing we did so far in Florence, and I especially recommend it if you have some mobility issues, as Florence can be challenging to walk around. This tour gives a great overview of the city in a short time which then allows you to know where you might want to go back to. Special shout out to Mohamed our guide who was fabulous and added even more insights, as well as taking some photos for/of us.

Florence is beautiful and has so many points of interest for all travelers. Try and stay centrally located as it is a walking city, with all or most sights reasonably located to the city center. Make sure to purchase tickets to museums ahead of time, having these prior to your visit is essential in not standing in line.

Fabulous afternoon golf cart tour with Rodrigo! He was incredibly friendly and helpful, so genuine he made us feel like we were special guests. The recorded tour was great because sometimes after we left a site, we would request that he replay it. It also poured rain for half of our trip but the plastic sides on the golf cart kept us dry and allowed us to still see all the sites. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see many Florence highlights in a short time, and most definitely request Rodrigo!

Last year I went on this tour with my husband and had a blast. So I took a friend with me this year. It was horrible. Our driver didn’t speak to us (we chose a driver that spoke English when we purchased) wasn’t friendly and was more interested in just getting it over with. We followed another cart (another family was split between our cart and the other one) they looked like they were having a blast. Their driver was engaged, pointing things out and actually doing the tour we paid for. Based on this years experience I wouldn’t recommend the tour but if you are lucky and get a good driver you might have a wonderful time. The tour hits a ton of Florence spots in a short time.

The meeting point for the tour is in front of a small bar to the side of the church. There were three of us, no, one man and my nine-year-old son, and we had booked a German-speaking private tour so that my son could understand everything.
The start was a bit bumpy because it was apparently overbooked and there were more guests than vehicles.
After a few hectic phone calls, the guide set off with us 10 minutes late, which he certainly added on generously.
The guide didn't speak German, but he kept playing a tape with German explanations and supplemented them with interesting stories and information in English, which I translated for my son.
He was very friendly and was also good with our child, so he also enjoyed the tour.
We were able to go into the narrowest streets with the (already somewhat old) electric golf cart and got a very good overview of beautiful Florence.
The guide kept looking for beautiful spots for the best views and photo opportunities and let us get out at any time if we wanted to take a closer look.
What I didn't like, however, was that the guide was constantly getting distracted. He kept stopping to answer pedestrians' questions about the tour or to talk to colleagues. Of course I understand the business interest, but he turned off the sound of the information loudspeaker and we sat in the heat waiting for the journey to continue.
Finally, he drove us past a perfume shop and had the saleswoman present her goods directly in the golf cart. It had a bit of the feel of a coffee trip... We said we weren't interested in buying and he drove on.
Conclusion:
Despite the 38 degree heat, we were able to experience a comprehensive tour of Florence with the tour, which we certainly wouldn't have managed on foot. We got a nice overview of the most beautiful spots and an entertaining way of presenting them.
I am sure that the guide did everything he showed us with great conviction and enthusiasm and his manner was lovely and friendly.
However, I would have liked it better if he had focused a little more on us and not always tried to get the next task done in parallel...

Our driver was Rodrigo. He drove through the streets of the city, pointing out places of interest and making sure to position the cart so we could get the best shots. He took us to Piazzale Michelangelo, which has a great view of the city and the river and gave us 10 minutes to get to the best spot with the best views.
It is a first contact with the city that I recommend to future tourists.

We booked the electric cart tour online before going to Florence for a few days. It was booked for our first day which I think is ideal as it gives you a good look around the city and an idea of what you might want to visit in more detail.
Our guide was Charlie from Poland and he was excellent and very knowledgeable about Florentine history etc. His English was perfect.
The tour takes you to many of the highlights of Florence, although some places like the Duomo and Ponte Veccio are accessible only on foot so you have to go back to get close to those. The highlight was that the tour took us up to the Vista Panoramica which would have been a difficult trek on foot and allowed us a 25 min break there. From there you get fantastic views over the city.
The tour is a bit expensive but if you factor in the trip to the Panoramica which would cost quite a bit in a taxi it was well worth it. Walking up to there would be a bit too much for me.

There were a couple positives - notably, we covered a lot of ground, we learned some fun facts, and got to see the Piazza de Michaelangelo.
However that's about all I can say. One limitation of this tour is that we were not allowed to get out of the golf cart, and the cart has a closed roof. This means that when the guide pulls up close to a building, it's like looking at it from a window of a small car - really limited viewing where we would only see the door of the building, and particularly bad if you were on the wrong side of the cart. The next day, we walked around the city and saw a gorgeous church that we apparently went to on our tour, but we didn't recognize it, because all you can see from the cart is the ground level bricks.
It would have been a lot better if we could get out to be able to look up and around, or if the cart had an open roof.
On top of that, our guide didn't really talk and would just pull over and press play on a recorded tape, much like we were on a self guided audio tour. He was on his phone a lot and when he dropped us off at the end he told us how relieved he was it was over because it was the last one of the day for him. Clearly he just wants it over and done with so he could go home.
Overall a waste of money, essentially paid the fee to look at some doors.

Hello.
I flagged this review as posted in the wrong or inappropriate activity.
There are several reasons for this:
1-I have no record of this reservation.
2-Do the cars have an enclosed roof? Our carts have raised roofs to allow better viewing, and all monuments can be seen from a distance so that the monument can be seen in its entirety.
I am aware of other vehicles running around Florence that besides having a name quite similar to ours are small and uncomfortable.
A transparent roof would make the trip a real torture especially on sunny days.
3- The audio-guided tour is an audio-guided tour. Like going to a pizza place and then complaining because you ate a pizza.
At this point it seems clear to me that she has never taken a tour with us.
Despite this and despite the evidence Tripadvisor support replies to me: After completing a thorough investigation into your report, we've found that the review in question complies with our submission guidelines. As a result, it will remain published on Tripadvisor.
Here then for those reading the response to this review, be aware that when you find Tripadvisor reviews they may not be verietere, both the good and the bad. Not a bad experience, but also not totally great. It was nice to learn some city history, but with it being a mix of recording and then our tour guide, it felt a bit disjointed. It is fun driving in a golf cart though! We saw some sights that wouldn’t have known about- so that’s a major positive!

In the summer heat, this is THE way to go. We had a great guide (Medi) and he seemed to know everyone in the city. We lucked out and were the only group in the tour that day, so he tailored it to our tastes, and had delightful stories and interesting facts to add to the audio tour- and a really amazing dinner recommendation to boot. Doing this on the first day in the city is a great way to go- gives you a good lay of the land and helps you to decide where to spend the rest of your time!

Do we get to see the marble statue of David?
Written 17 July 2022
No. The original sculpture of the David is in the Accademia Gallery of Florence. The second copy of the David is located in Piazza della Signoria (Duomo Square), ( the one we did see ) just opposite the Palazzo Vecchio (Old Palace). The third copy is in the middle of Piazzale Michelangelo
