About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- LouiseShepherd620 contributionsA Disappointing, over priced waste of time! The Vasari Corridor opened on 21 December 2024 after a major renovation. Tickets are bookable on the Uffizi website. It's an add on, effectively this cost 18 euros on top of my Uffizi ticket. I booked my ticket online on 24.12.24 for a 'crossing' on 7.1.25. Booking online was straightforward. I read the rules carefully and followed them. At the time of my booking, it did not, it did NOT say that you must have your passport with you. The instructions were somewhat draconian: you had to turn up at Door D19 15mins before your booking. I did this. There were two rather fierce young women in charge. One held a clipboard and called out your name. You were to come forward and present your ticket and your passport in order to be allowed to pass through the door and proceed to the waiting area. By sheer luck, I still had my passport in my bag having forgotten to put it in the hotel safe the night before. So I was allowed to enter. Phew! A British couple just before me, proffered their printed out tickets but no passports. They claimed that when they booked it did not say that passports were essential. The young gatekeepers would have none of it. They declared, quite sharply and brusquely, "It states clearly in the booking rules that you have to have your passport." (I can assure you that at least when I booked [Xmas Eve] no such rule was stated.) Anyway these girls would simply not allow this elderly British couple to pass through, so they departed very disappointed (and 36 euros wasted!). The approved ticket holders gathered in a waiting area having been allowed through Door D19. At the appointed time we were frogmarched (yes !) through the corridor with one Uffizi employee at the start of the group and another bringing up the rear. There was to be No Loitering, No Video, and (almost) No Talking. We were herded like a flock of sheep along the corridor - which, I should tell you is not at all worth the price of admission. The floors are terracotta tiled and the walls are white washed throughout. No Paintings. No Sculpture. Empty. The windows are tiny and offer little view. No time to stop anyway. The 'Shepherds/Monitors' just bark at you, "Keep Moving, Keep Moving". At the exit in the Boboli Gardens, they march you to the Main Exit and check that you pass through (clearly fearful that you might wander through the gardens without having paid the fee). They are pretty clear about the fact that you are walking in one direction only, so if you have left your coat in the Cloakroom at the Uffizi or if you would like to visit the (rather good) Uffizi bookshop/gift shop, you'll need to make sure that you do this before making your way to Door D19. I'd like to be generous and say that there are teething problems to this experience but I'm afraid I was sorely disappointed by the whole thing. Not just the bland, empty corridor but the imperious, unpleasant young women conducting the tour/"march". Reader Beware ! (And take your passport !)Written 14 January 2025

- 564anitar0 contributionsMore Drama Than Reality TVOur guide, Giacomo, was so knowledgeable and interesting. We had a private "behind the scenes" tour that included all the inside scoop about the Medici family, how they got their wealth, what they did for Florence and the kind of people they were. There was some shocking tea spilled! We loved it. Thank you, Giacomo!Written 30 October 2024

- Nester L0 contributionsThe Medici PalaceOur guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the Medici family and the history of Florence. She had so much information. A few years back, we watched the Netflix series about the Medici and we were so enthralled about it that we made a trip to Florence last year and back again this year to see what we missed last year. It was great to see in person what we saw in the Netflix series. We went to the Bargello museum to see the little Bronze David, which was in the Medici home in the Netflix series.Written 26 September 2024
- DayTrip314108797710 contributionsMeaningful and Memorable Tour!Having just a few days to explore Florence, we booked three separate tours of the Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens to make the most of our short visit to this culturally rich city. The Made of Tuscany team were quick to respond to our request and were flexible with creating a custom tour schedule for my family. Our guides, Giacomo and Susanna, possessed an obvious passion for and extensive knowledge of Italian history and art. Natural story-tellers, they provided valuable perspective and context to allow for deeper understanding of the master works we were seeing. We were grateful to have these warm, engaging, experienced guides help us navigate the vast collections, as well as the potentially daunting museum admissions/queue process especially in peak season. For any future travel to the area, I would absolutely contact this team again to help create a more meaningful, memorable visit.Written 19 August 2024

Me and my boyfriend went with Susanna on this beautiful tour on the most perfect day.
We where spoken to so lovely and clearly by Susanna even tho English is not her first language and everything was explained perfectly,we learned so much about Florence.
it was so exiting and every time we thought there wasn’t any more to see Susanna took us to an even more breathtaking part of Florence, I never wanted it to end it felt like a fairy tale.
My boyfriend is not big on tours but he actually enjoyed and listened to this one all the way through which really just speaks for itself.
Thank you for this beautiful experience Susanna and the team of Florence tours by Made of Tuscany! I will be telling my family and friends to book with you if they ever come by Florence 😍

Our tour consisted of 6 people, 3 which spoke english and 3 italian. It was our first day there and we were a bit tired but it was a bit frustrating to have her do one language and then repeat in another language. made it longer than it had to be don't recall this saying multiple language tour. Was not worth it for us
