Small-Group Truffle Hunting and Wine Experience from Florence with Lunch

It takes years to learn the art of successful truffle hunting, but you can be successful your first time out by following a guide and their truffle-sniffing dog on a truffle hunting adventure from Florence. You’ll travel to the Tuscan town of San Miniato famous for its delicious white truffle where you’ll observe experienced truffle hunters in action. After the hunt, you’ll enjoy a 2-course lunch featuring the truffle and sample an array of Chianti region wine.
What to Expect
Join up with your guide at the Piazza Cavalleggeri in central Florence. You’ll leave the city by air-conditioned minivan traveling west into the Tuscan countryside. You’ll stop in the town of San Miniato - the truffle capital of Tuscany whose surrounding woodlands are home to the rare Italian white truffle.

Here you’ll meet your truffle hunter guide and his truffle-sniffing dog for a walk through the woods in search of mushroom gold. You’ll follow the dog as he hurriedly sniffs the ground and watch as he unearths this precious delicacy untouched.

Once your truffle hunting adventure is complete, you’ll reconvene with your driver and enjoy a lunch featuring a truffle-based appetizer followed by a truffle pasta paired with local wine.

Next, you’ll visit a winery in the world-famous Chianti region. You’ll learn about the art of Tuscan winemaking and sample several blends including the Super Tuscan and the winery’s own Chianti DOCG.

Your truffle hunting tour concludes with the drive back to Florence.
