Discover the joy of cooking traditional Italian meals with healthy, organic ingredients during this 4-hour cooking class in the heart of Florence, Italy. At the MaMa Florence Cooking School, experience top-notch instruction in a beautiful facility. Select local ingredients filled with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to prepare a 4-course Italian meal that not only tastes better but is also healthier. Prepare zucchini flowers fried in extra virgin olive oil, fresh pasta made with organic flour, special risotto made with fine rice and other grains — and, of course, a seasonal dessert and wine.
What to Expect
Your chef will welcome you to the beautiful kitchen of our well-equipped cooking school.
You'll be introduced to the the world of Italian whole food organic ingredients. Beyond not using synthetic pesticides, chemicals, and herbicides, being organic also promotes sustainability by using natural resources and raising animals responsibly and ethically.
You will discover how to choose local ingredients that are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals so you can make dishes that are much tastier, and good for your body and soul.
This Cooking School is not strictly vegetarian but ingredients from whole plant foods will represent the higher part of the class.
The hands-on class consists of the preparation of a four-course traditional Italian menu.
The appetizer will be prepared with fresh seasonal vegetables and herbs straight from the farmer's field. These may include Sage Leaves and/or Fried Zucchini Flowers fried in Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, Seasonal Vegetable Paté and other seasonal appetizers.
The first course includes either fresh pasta made with special organic flours, low in gluten or a special risotto made with fine rice selections and other grains commonly used in the Mediterranean diet.
The second course may be prepared with meats from organically raised animals or organic cheeses.
We finish with a seasonal dessert.
The meal is paired with local wine made from organically grown grapes.
