The Duomo Complex and Its Hidden Terraces
From USD 68.35
Florence’s Duomo has so many highlights and hidden corners that visiting it independently risks not seeing all its treasures. This all-encompassing tour lays its secrets bare without long waits in line. Enjoy skip-the-line access to tour the interior, visit terraces and rooms closed to the public, savor the views from the top of Brunelleschi’s dome, and enjoy 48-hour access to the rest of the Duomo complex at your leisure.
What to Expect
Meet your guide near Florence's Duomo and start the tour with a visit to its crypt to view wooden models used by Brunelleschi to build the cathedral’s stunning dome.
Then, skip the long lines for a guided cathedral interior tour. Admire highpoints including the frescoes by Vasari before climbing the 153 steps to the rooftop north-side terrace, an area usually closed to the general public.
Absorb the panoramas here and visit the Circular Room, another area that's usually off-limits. It's replete with 16th-century statues that once graced the Duomo’s facade. See restorers working here and after parting with your guide—the guided part of your tour ends here—enjoy priority access to the top of Brunelleschi’s dome, ascending 310 steps to stand at the top of the cupola for close-ups of the frescoes and 360-degree city views.
Afterward, continue exploring the Duomo complex independently: Your ticket includes 48-hour access to other must-sees, including the Baptistery and Bell Tower.

Fantastic tour. One of our favourite places!

The tour was fantastic. We skepped all the queues and we also got entry to the museum. We climbed to the top of the terrace and dome for spectacular views of Florence and a closer look of the paintings from the inside of the Dome.
