Palermo Walking Tour and Street Food
USD 34.75
Overview

Discover the signature street food dishes of Palermo, the Sicilian capital, on a walking tour led by a foodie guide—a must for anyone who’s serious about Italian cuisine. Taste a range of dishes from local vendors who would be difficult to stumble on independently. While you eat, learn more about Italy’s complex history and the reason its food varies so much by region.

What to Expect

Greet your guide in the heart of the Old Town—or, if you’re on a cruise ship, enjoy pickup from near the port—for your street food and market walking tour. Discover three separate markets: Capo Market (Mercato di Capo), Ballaro Street Market (Mercato Ballarò), and La Vucciria—in some of the oldest areas of Palermo.

As you wander, learning about food as you go, sample Palermo specialties with the city’s signature rustic flavors. Try sfincione (Sicily’s answer to pizza), panelli (chickpea fritters), crocchè (potato croquettes), arancini (stuffed rice balls), caponata (an eggplant dish), and cannolo (a ricotta-filled pastry). Along the way you have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine, beer, water or Coca-Cola.

Your tour finishes in central Palermo, not far from La Vucciria market.
