About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- nelar0 contributionsAn absolute must!We had the absolute best sunset tour with Michele. He was brilliant and gave such a great historical overview of the temples, the surrounding areas and Sicily. Absolutely worth it and doing it at sunset is a definite must! Highly recommend this tour.Written 30 October 2024
- emmahG9201FE0 contributionsGreat temples but poor tour. The perfect time to visit the temples and see them during sunset then light up in the dark at the end. Had a great time. However quality of the tour was very poor. Better to go enjoy them alone. Tour guide shared limited information about the temples and was not worth the cost.Written 25 September 2024
- P4918DLandreah0 contributionsAn excellent tour with Michele as our guideMichele was an excellent guide, after an initial mix up regarding the meeting place (my fault not his but beware that there are ticket offices at both ends of the temple walk) the tour was very informative and Michele was both amusing and able to answer our questions and share his knowledge. Note that although it said that the tour ended at the start point, this was incorrect and we had to make our own way back to the start point where we had left our car.Written 24 September 2024
- samanthaperkin0 contributionsAtmospheric and enjoyable tourA wonderful tour. It was so armospheric at this time of day, plus not so hot. Our guide Mario was very knowledgeable and answered our questions and gave us a good picture of what the temples would have looked like when they were built and the history of the area. Highly recommend.Written 3 September 2024
- ExC_130 contributionsWorth adding a stop to your trip 100%Awesome tour and guide. Definitely an evening activity as I couldn’t imagine doing it in the heat. The temples lit up at night are stunning and the history lesson from the guide brought them even more to life.Written 2 September 2024
- B6897EFcatherinen0 contributionsBeautiful templesSeeing the temples at sunset was a beautiful way to see them as you are guided out to the furthest temple while the sun is setting and then you make your own way back and see them again when they are lit up at night. Michele was a knowledgeable guide and gave us interesting facts about each temple including how they were built, and about the previous cities and occupants. It really added to our time there as there's not much written information around.Written 25 August 2024
- adeleadelchik0 contributionsLoved the sunset tour of temple valley. We liked the evening tour because we could see the temples in the evening light, and after dark in a different lighting too. Our guide was engaging and knowledgable.Written 2 August 2024
- Rob M0 contributionsExcellent tour guideMichele was excellent, taking us through thousands of years of history in a really engaging way as we spent three hours walking through the valley of the temples. His stories and attention to detail painted an incredible picture of a civilisation that was over 200,000 in size at its peak. We would thoroughly recommend a tour with him.Written 25 July 2024
- Z6763AYjonathang0 contributionsValley of the TemplesMichele was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and recommended! He was thorough and professional and we couldn’t have been better looked after.Written 17 July 2024
- vivianadU6434YV0 contributionsWorst experience with SicilyTravelnetHad the worst experience with this organization. We have requested a tour for our family with two kids and got a guide that - even if she was very polite and seemed highly educated - had no idea how to handle a visit with kids. We payed 140 euros but most importantly we miss the opportunity for our kids to experience the history of the site. Do not book with them!Written 13 July 2024
- rmsydney120 contributionsAmazing blast from ancient past !It’s a must do tour ! The site , history, amazingly preserved and restored temples! Mario was our guide - knowledgeable and professional!Written 13 June 2024
- MTMusings0 contributionsMichele is an outstanding guide to the Valley of the TemplesWe have engaged dozens of guides to local history annd culture over the years and it can be a hit or miss affair. Michele is really next level. He is an outstanding guide to Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples. He goes very deep on the history, knows his histories, cultures, literatures, thinkers, architecture that conquered and built or neglected this amazing place. He loves this corner of Sicily and after two hours with him, so will you. He was flexible when our schedule changed, answered a wide range of questions with the right level of detail, spoke excellent English, and kept his answers succinct (another rarity in Italy). Michelin says one star is worth a stop, two a detour, and three a journey, Michele is one of the few three star guides I’ve met. Highest recommendation.Written 28 May 2024
- Trail463760173830 contributionsMagical Sunset,Fantastic Tour GuideThe tour was fantastic. The sunset is truly one of the most if not the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The temples just make it magical. Mario our tour guide was super knowledgeable, incredibly nice, and made the tour fun. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Fantastic tour from beginning to end. Would highly recommend this tour.Written 26 May 2024
- AntonJ4920 contributionsGreat tour. Poor administration by Tripadvisor. The guided tour was excellent and well worth the cost. What was not excellent was TripAdvisor’s failure to notify the tour operator that we had purchased tickets the day before the tour. As a result the tour was underway when we arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The guide started early because he believed he had all of the tour’s participants present.Written 17 May 2024
- benerittenberg0 contributionsGreat tour and meaningful visit to AgrigentoAs usual the Rick Steve’s suggestions do not disappoint, Michele was our guide for a tour of the the Valley of the Temples. He was excellent and so knowledgeable. We started at the Archaeological Museum of Agrigento where Michele explained artifacts in a meaningful way that made our experience in the Temples more meaningful and would have been impossible without him and his amazing knowledge of the site.Written 17 May 2024

My husband and I took the tour of the Valley of the Temples at 7.30 pm with the guide Calogero. Perfect time because you start with light, witness the sunset and finally see the illuminated temples: really exciting!!!! Then the temperature is perfect, while during the day it must be very very hot because the path is all under the sun. Inside there is a bar with sandwiches and ice cream. Calogero great guide, I contacted him directly through wathsapp and he responded immediately. Consiglio a tutti di fare questa esperienza!

Purchased visit with VIE DI SICILY. Visit of 2 hours and a half in the evening with the super guide Calogero, fantastic speaker on the history of Agrigento and its antiquities. I highly recommend this mode of visit to better enjoy this beautiful place. Congratulations to Calogero and his professionalism and culture. 2 hours and a half flying!!!

Michele gives a fascinating tour of the Valley of the Temples and the museum. He's very knowledgeable, full of facts and interesting tidbits of information and presents it all in a very relatable way. He mixes the ancient with the modern which really contextualizes the history. He speaks English fluently and without an accent. He makes the place come alive! Highly recommend him!!

We visited the site at 5 p.m. We were lucky enough to be just our own
group of 4 people and a very nice and nice couple. But the greatest luck was to be accompanied by the talented Archaeological Guide Paola Bibiana. Very competent and able to keep the attention awake for all two hours. We also visited the catacombs. Truly an unforgettable visit! Thank you Bibiana!

Michele gave us a very interesting and well-informed tour of the incredible arcahaeologic park at Agrigento. It really made the ancient city come to life - very well worth the cost.

We found Michele Gallo through the Rick Steves Sicily travel book. Michele was very easy to work with- contacted us quickly through email and whats app. He arranged for Carmelina to take us through the Valley of the Temples. It was well worth the money to have a guide. The site is large and its hard to understand the interaction between the various temples on your own. The site was closed the day we were supposed to go due to storm damage. Michele notified us the night before, as soon as he learned of the closure. He was able to make arrangements for another day so we did not miss this stunning site. Excellent customer service!

Wonderful visit not only for the monumental show but above all for our guide Calogero who conveyed to us all the love for the history of his native land. Highly recommended and if you can, ask to go with him, I'm convinced it makes the difference...
