Next we will leave the port to circumnavigate around the island and admire the monuments located along the coast. We will leave Ortigia to head towards the coast north of Syracuse to go and see the beautiful sea caves. We will then return from the "small port" to navigate the Ortigia channel that divides the island from the city and we will pass under the bridges to return to the starting point. the visit is guided and a historical and geographical explanation is provided. In addition, it is possible to stop for a swim. The tour lasts about 1 hour and 10/20 minutes.

Excellent boat tour company in Syracusa
Our hotel recommended this company for the a sea tour around the islands and cliffs and we had a great time. Lucia, our guide on board, was very knowledgeable and also had a good sense of humour. She conducted the tour in English after politely checking that everyone on board was OK with this. It's a fantastic way to get another view of the beautiful town and surrounding landscape from the sea, plus learn more about its fascinating history. The only thing we hadn't realised was that the boat stops for a short time for those who want to to take a dip in the clear warm waters, so we hadn't brought our swim things! Having said that, as we planned to have lunch afterwards, I was quite glad I wasn't soaking wet as there's nowhere to change back into regular clothes. It's important to leave a couple of days for the boat tour as if the wind or weather is bad they have to cancel and reschedule your trip for the next day - which happened to us. In general the mornings seemed calmer at the time of year we visited, but it's worth phoning them to check they can sale before making the trip down to the harbour.

      Highest recommendation and good value!
Alejandro was an excellent sailor as well as tour guide. Friendly, informative and spoke English far better than we spoke Italian. Great way to see and understand Ortegia!

Great 2hr tour with great swim spots
This boat trip was exactly as expected. I wish I remembered the guide’s name. She was very pleasant and accommodating to English speaking and Italian speaking during the tour. We had the opportunity to stop at two different spots to swim and she gave great explanation of the places we stopped or passed for viewing.

Crystal clear sea and incredible sunset. Amazing experience!
Advised by our host, we decided to visit Syracuse and Ortigia also from the sea, and expectations were not disappointed. From boat caves to diving where the water is crystal clear this experience was really fulfilling. Very good driver Otto who was able to tell even in English the wonders of this place. Recommended especially at sunset. Super experience.

Great to see Ortigia from the water and learn about its history
the day we went the sea was a bit rough with 1-2 metre swells so we couldn’t get close to the sea caves as it was too dangerous. We explored both sides of the harbour and stopped for a swim near the fortress which was lovely. The views from the boat were great and ducking our heads as the boat went under the low bridge was a great experience.

Ortigia Pleasant Boat Tour Small Group
Ninni gave us an enjoyable 2 hour boat tour with 2 swim stops. The boat holds approx 8 people . Bring towel, water and a snack if you like.( we stopped at the food market for some fresh baggets , fruit and cheese) There are a few boat drivers but Ninni is passionate, philosophical , numerous with very good explanation of the history behind Ortigia and Syracusa plus we got to see the sea caves etc . The boat has a canopy .Two hours went by quickly. Enjoy !

      Perfect boat trip
This was an excellent trip. There are so many boat trips to choose from in Ortigia but I was very impressed with this one. It was two hours long. The driver was very friendly and very good with the two elderly parents we had with us. He took us to two lovely swimming spots, showed us the sea caves and then took us to see the fort. Although they take a maximum of 15-20 people there were only 7 of us so we had a very personal experience. Highly recommend.

Really good trip!! A guide that speaks basically perfect english and has alot of knowledge about everything we pass with the boat. This was absolutely the best thing for us! The group was not too big (not crowded) we stopped 2-3 times so we had the opertunity to swim, they also were very attentive, making sure we all were okay and safe Absolutely reccomended

Great Trip, Use Caution at Swim Stops
Great Trip, great scenery. Only reason we didn’t give 5 stars is very important. If you have young children, I wouldn’t allow them to swim during the stops to snorkel/swim. The reason I say this is the guide that drove the boat on our trip dropped us to swim and then pulled away +/- 20 meters with the boat. We didn’t expect this nor does he tell you in advance that he’s pulling away. When I asked why he pulls away he suggested the current. Ok, so it’s not safe for your boat in the current so you drive away 20 meters and expect us to swim to the boat against the current. He does not come to pick you up. In fact, there were 2 swim stops and at the first stop, after a swim and getting ready to board, he told us to not board because he had to circle again due to the current. I had to shout and tell him my 11 year daughter was getting on the boat at that moment because she was getting fatigued. I was wearing swim fins and was ok, my wife had trouble swimming to the boat again against the current and the guide didn’t seem to care. The guide was very stubborn and we didn’t like that. fyi, we are experienced boaters, belong to a boat club in Florida, and understand currents. Typically I would say either anchor or don’t drop people to swim. Not the right day.

      Enjoyable Ortigia boat trip
Very enjoyable two hour trip around Ortigia and the coast. The skipper was friendly and knowledgeable and the small boat had a canopy for those who wanted shade. We were out in the heat of the day so we're grateful for that. There were a couple of short swim stops for those who fancied it. Especially enjoyed the sea caves. Take a bottle of water with you if it is a hot day.

Very Generous Refund for Cancelled Reservation
We were not able to take the tour as my wife got sick, so we had to cancel the trip with less than 24 hours notice ( if fact the same day). The tour operator refunded us half of our payment, which they were not obligated to do I thought that was very generous, and these people should be commended.

Aleandro was so attentive from day 1 as soon as we booked we received a txt straight away giving us directions and confirming the change of time. He kept us informed throughout when we arrived we discovered because of covid it was only us this made it really special. Syracuse i was in love with from the second i saw the sea it is a stunning town. Once we met Aleandro and got on the boat it was divine the views, the sea, the caves, the history narrative from Aleandro. You can not miss this stunning trip finished by a dip in the sea which was perfect temperature. After doing this trip i shall definitely be staying in Syracuse nxt time i come to italy the whole area is shear refinement. Highly recommended

Lovely boat tour that gives you a great overview about the most important sights in Ortigia and Syracuse, which can be seen from the sea. Our guide was really nice and was able to share interesting insights about the history and current state of Syracuse. We would recommend it, especially during the afternoon, as the light is beautiful then 🙂 Specifically good to get also a first idea of the city on your first day.

Lovely tour around the island and the sea caves. The guide asked us who spoke Italian and English and he would explain different information in one language and swap straight away to another. The views in the sea caves were fascinating, something that I wouldn't see if I hadn't gone on this tour. Various places were pointed out
I would recommend people to go on this tour

The place was beautiful, but sadly our experience with this company was not. We arrived on a cruise ship, so I think they had more people signed up for this tour than usual. That might have contributed to our less than satisfactory experience with them. We met at the designated spot and waited for a while before we were walked to the harbor where the boats were. We had specifically booked this tour because they had mentioned: "Guided boat tour; Historical geographical explanation" A lot of reviewers had also mentioned knowledgeable, English-speaking guides. We did not have such a guide on our boat. The pilot had poor English and a bad attitude. As we were pulling out of the harbor, when we asked about a building we were passing, he responded with a curt "I tell you later." As we were going towards the caves, I asked how deep the sea was at this point and added that I could not swim. His reply was "Two meter or ten, what does it matter? If you fall in you die." Seeing my shocked face, he did offer me a life jacket. There was very little explanation of anything we were viewing. On returning, we were not taken under the bridge to the original place we embarked from but were dropped off before the bridge. The views were amazing, but we missed having a guide who could've made the tour informative and truly enjoyable.

Fantastic way to introduce yourself to Ortigia and the area. Our guide was a local and told great stories of the city and people. He was a skilled captain and the boat trip was very smooth. Sea caves were beautiful and we enjoyed learning about the history of the region. Highly recommend doing this tour. You won’t be disappointed!

The guide speaks great English. Explained the history very well. The tour goes around the caves first then around the city on the way back, you will not get the same view twice.
There’s a restaurant in front of the meeting point so you can get coffee and water before the boat.
    Good tour, recommend it.
