Pickup and drop off on time, ver, safe driver, always explaning the plan what to do next and of course explaining a lot about the Vulcan Etna and it's area and history. - Chorleymagsontour0 contributionsNo sunset but a memorable and enjoyable tour!Despite an unusual weather event that saw us doing the sunset tour in pouring rain and fog on what had been a hot and sunny July day down in Catania, this was a great tour led by a brilliant guide who really brought the history of Etna to life As someone who is generally nervous of heights and mountain roads I was very apprehensive about the trip up in a minibus but our guide was a very safe and careful driver and the roads themselves were good and without the sheer drops I’d feared. Although we didn’t get to see the sunset, we really enjoyed walking through the lava cave and the trek up to and around crater rims and learning about the geology of this and other volcanos. It was a memorable trip and we’d recommend to others.Written 4 July 2024
- Claudia P0 contributionsVery touristy with too little time on best spotsThe trip was good but not excellent as I expected only because we didn’t have enough time to spend on the top of Etna for some walking. It was a “hit and run” typical of an organised tour where they also want to take you to useless “honey wine taste” where you’re not forced but supposed to buy their product that of course are sold at a very high price”touristy price”Written 2 July 2024
- gertrude1340 contributionsBrief Etna visitWe left from the tour office in a bus . They informed us it was going to be too windy to use the gondola but would take us up with a smaller bus to the top. It was very cold up there so make sure you have a winter jacket and pants with long socks bc the sand blasted at you . I rented a coat for $5 which was good. When we got to the top we had a very small explanation about the volcano bc it was so cold and windy. We stayed for 10 min bc it was so cold and had wine in a restaurant below.Written 23 October 2023

- Alexandra S0 contributionsMesmerizing sunset experience on Mount EtnaI had an absolutely breathtaking experience on the sunset trip to Mount Etna. As we explored the volcanic landscape, our guide Iorga explained intricate details about Etna's history, geology, its impact on the surrounding environment and the wealth of his knowledge about the volcano and his passion for sharing it with us made the journey incredibly enriching. Watching the sun dip below the horizon against the backdrop of this majestic natural wonder was a truly magical moment and the memory of this experience will forever stay with me.Written 22 August 2023

- GeorgeMorgan19700 contributionsExtraordinary Trek up Mt. EtnaWe had the most incredible Etna Trekking Tour with guide Giulia. Probably rated as the most exhilarating and educational hike/ trek up a mountain we have experienced. Giulia’s passion and knowledge of Etna was extraordinary and made the day beyond our highest expectations. I had never previously appreciated the value of a volcano, and Giulia’s guidance has opened mine, and the rest of our groups, eyes and mind to something that we will share and grow.Written 18 June 2023
- Andrewc19730 contributionsGreat tour, shame about the weather..Party of 12 visiting Catania added in a trip to Mt Etna. The weather was miserable - cold, windy, foggy, hail, rain...but that didn't matter too much. Daniele provided waterproofs, and demonstrated knowledge of My Etna in an easily understandable way. He also showed compassion and humour to the guests. Due to the weather we decided to shorten the tour, so we were taken to a local honey/wine making business to conclude the visit. Would recommend, but hope for better weather. There was some walking up a steep but maintained path, but most of the tour was by minibusWritten 18 May 2023

In a nutshell, the experience of visiting Etna is fantastic. It certainly makes it worth your while to be there, to whitness what it has done to it's surrounding.
About the Tour Company, at the end it delivered what they promised: a morning tour to Etna, but could the service could be improved, a whole lot.
We had to wait almost 30 min after the set pick-up time, didn't have a smooth ride up to Etna (Italian way of driving, like there's no tomorrow) and the tour guide (nice enough, good english BTW) kept telling stories about the Volcano and it's surroundings at such a low volume that we couldn't always hear and understand.
But he knew the stuff, he knew what he was doing and took us to great viewings.
Overall, it was a pleasant morning at Etna and we were satisfied in the end of the day.

Dear customer,
Thank you for your opinion.
Sorry for the 30 minutes delay, also because we always notify our guests on time, but surely the guide will have found some unexpected traffic.
As for the acoustics inside the minivan, we accept with pleasure yours constructive criticism, and we will tell the guides to increase the volume of the voice during the explanations
Kind Salutations

Experience on Etna in the morning, passing through the Bove valley and a cave formed by lava. At the end of these two steps, the guide Elia took us up to 2000 by minibus and then carried out a light trek on the side of the volcano reaching 2500.
We then went down for a short lunch break in the nearby refuge and returned to Catania.
Elia was very good at telling us the story, the passion he puts into it makes the landscape of Mamma Etna even more compelling.
Plus: included in the price are boots and K-way but above all they pick you up and drop you off at the most convenient point for you.
Great trip, I recommend it!!!

The wonderful city of Catania, in the east side of Sicily Island, offers a lot of opportunities in terms of attractions and monuments. For me, the TOP, is always the spectacular mount ETNA. In this picture you colid appreciate from Nicosia (Enna).

We visited Park Etna with a small group from Catania. The guide (Janet) was excellent, she was on time at the meeting point. The SUV was a little tight in the back for people with long legs, but Janet made it right by allowing passengers to switch places. Janet gave us a lot of good information on the volcano, the history of eruptions, the flora (including scientific names which was a treat for the biologist in me) and also about the folklore and legends of the place. The hike was just right, around some old craters, a little steep at times but very doable for everyone.
We felt safe at all times, we were very lucky with the weather (sunny and clear), and we got to walk through a lava tube.
The final stop was at Valley of Bevo which makes you realize the magnitude of a lava flow. She invited us to try a fine sweet wine made in the region and some almond biscotti. Delicious. After seeing lots of greco Roman ruins and churches in Sicily, this nature tour was a very welcomed change

Our Guide was super Kind and we Loved to listen to His explanations. He was very enthusiatic about the topic "Mount Etna" and after a few minutes WE were super intrigued aswell. The Pick Up was easy and on time and the travel to the etna was shortlived thanks to the funny and interesting facts He told us along the way. Even though we Had snowy and windy weather we really Had the best time on this Trip and would recommend booking it! Thank you for the Grat experience!!!

First of all I have to say that booking the trip and all communication with the central office about pick-up and drop-off went smoothly. Thanks for that!
Otherwise it was rather disappointing:
Our guide had a variety of about six to seven facts that he kept repeating. He did not understand any of the questions he was asked (in proper English - in contrast to his language skills...).
We could have easily managed to do a similar tour on our own by taking one of the regular busses to Rifugio Sapienza. Shame we didn’t...

Dear Guest ,
Sorry about your negative assessment. From his review we don’t know which guide you refer to and whether the excursion was actually made by us.
in reference to what you wrote, Etna is a site open to all and with the bus can get to Rifugio Sapenza but you would not have had explanations and would not have visited neither the lava cave nor the Valle del bove.
we are surprised that the guide did not understand his questions as all the guides who collaborate with us speak a good level of English.
If you return to catania, you will be our guest on another excursion and if you privately let us know the name of the guide for us would be very useful.
thanks

The tour was led by Simon (#legend) who explained the geography of the volcano in a much more interesting and engaging way than my Geography teacher ever did at school. Generally not into rocks but this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and a good idea if you don't want to spend all day walking around a mainly arrid land not really understanding what it's all about. Would highly recommend.

It was superb. We were picked up and returned to our hotel by our guide in a small mini bus. It was a small group (just eight). Our Guide Danielle (excuse spelling) spoke good English and was both informative and entertaining with an obvious passion for his job.
I was very glad that he was driving rather than me, you would have to be very brave to drive in Sicily. Catania is a driving Bedlam!
Mount Etna is a great experience. We were lucky with the weather and could see for miles from the top. We stopped to see the fantastic moonscape of the lava fields. It was particularly interesting to go into an underground cave that had been made by the lava. Helmets and torches were provided and our guide took great care to ensure our safety. We were able to have lunch at a cafe in Etna and having walked up to see some of the amazing craters thoroughly enjoyed a large cold beer outside in the sunshine!

We went there in September.
The queue lasts around twenty minutes.
I recommend the cable car for people who want to get to the essentials, as walking doesn't seem really exciting to me.
The cable car costs €78 including: the ascent, then the climb in 4x4 (bus) with the guide.
Once you arrive at the top, allow 15 minutes of walking (easy) to reach the authorized point.
Attention ! Cover yourself, hot and cold drafts are common.
Please note that you can rent a parka for five euros when you get off the gondola.
The climb with the gondola takes approximately 20 minutes. You will need around ten minutes in the 4x4.
In my opinion, white or light clothing is prohibited, for obvious reasons of dirt from the volcanic stone, bring walking shoes (also rented) as well as black socks.
The view is breathtaking! It’s an exceptional moment, worth the detour.
The guide speaks English.
Last descent: 5:45 p.m.
Be careful with asthmatics, there are risks.

Hello! I would like to ask is this trip safe and good for 1 year old child? Thank you!
Written 2 November 2023
There was a family with a young child around one year in our group. The only part of the trip that wasn’t safe for them was the lava cave - one parent skipped that part and stayed above ground. They only missed out on about fifteen or twenty minutes.

After purchasing the ticket how do we get in touch with company about pick up details? Is the the hike to the summit available?
Written 16 April 2023
They’ll contact you the day before, you won’t do the summit on the morning - you go to about 2000m or so
Written 17 April 2023
I believe that the summit is not accessible - you can only visit the dormant craters but it was a trek worth doing. Etna is like a moonscape.
