      Awesome cooking class!
Had the best time with Paolo! Chef kiss to the whole experience n to the basically bottomless wine that was included in the experience :) In between the drinks n the enormous quantity of food we made, we spent the whole time rolling on our bellies out of laughter (n fullness)

      Wonderful family experience
Such a wonderful family experience! We booked as rain was forecast but had so much fun. The only reason I can’t give it a 5/5 is that the restuarant was absolutely packed and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed e.g. they kept insisting that our group sit at a table to eat that clearly had too few seats. This resulted in a few people having to sit outside apart from the group which was definetly not ideal.

      Taster of Sicily
Took 2 tours with SAT Group, one to Mount Etna & the other a day trip to Siracusa. Thanks to Elizabeth & Alexandra for providing lots of info as our tour guides. Both were very knowledgeable. Coach drivers Angelo & Alfio were very careful drivers making us feel safe & secure, especially when navigating hair pin bends en route to collection points in Taormina! Both trips enjoyable & memorable. Thanks!

Mt Etna & Alcantara Gorge trip pretty amazing
Getting into a double decker tour bus and travelling through the narrow country lanes on the lower slopes of Etna is an adventure unto itself! The Alcantara Gorge was our first drop off. The water was frigid, yet refreshing. The twisted rock structures Then we boarded a wee train for an hour-long trip through some amazing lava flows and farmlands. After that, we jumped back on the bus and wound our way up the eastern slopes of Etna to the tourist hub (restaurants, shops, etc). Our journey continued with a cable car ride further up the mountain, where we jumped on a 4WD bus thing which took us up a dusty track to around 3000 metres. We finished with a trek around a recent spatter cone to look at a pretty impressive lava flow. This was an excellent trip with a multi-lingual guide and a range of different and amazing experiences. Highly recommended!

      Great Day with Great Sights!
The tour was very good. Whilst the other island was quaint, it was Stromboli, which was an experience that I will never forget. The people that live on this constantly erupting volcano are interesting. Get on the boat and go around the other side of the volcano and see an impressive sight red fire plumes, noise and constant change, amazing. Time in each venue was long enough lots of travel on this tour but worthy of the time to get there. Alexandria, our guide was very good and kept everyone informed even though the group contained a variety of nationalities and languages. SEE organised a trip that works, expect a long tiring day

      Arancino making
We had a great time learning how to make arancino. Great restaurant, great chef and great company. We learnt the tricks of the trade and came away with more arancini than we could eat. We even went back the next day for lunch. Definitely recommend this experience!

      SAT Tour
Bus arrived on time. Arrived at location but because of numbers were divided in two groups. Did not find either guide to be very informative and felt tour was too rushed. Lost our guide as she walked off without putting up her umbrella could not find her. Second guide was hopeless. Time alone in the town was fun we went off and did our own thing. You could easily do this tour cheaper on your own !!

      Fustrating holiday trip
This was a very frustrating day. The 60 minute journey from Giardini-Naxos was doubled due to extended pick ups that were not advertised. Arriving late out your guide encouraged not to go to the top of the Etna (2900 m) due to queues as we were behind schedule. We we had already paid the full amount of €110 each BUT the tour guide was unable refund us. As a consequence to get our refund after the horrendous trip we had to remain on the bus, travel to travel company head office where our refund was reluctantly processed. Finally we incurred an extra €30 taxi to get home. We understand that nature can change but organisation shouldn’t.

      A fantastic Sicilian experience
One of our favorite days on our entire European Summer holiday! Market tour for ingredients and then cooking for a bit and then eating and laughing for more fun! Chef was amazing and gave each and every guest attention, instruction and sheer joy! Highly, highly recommend this Sicilian afternoon!

Worth visiting & thanks to our guide and driver
Great tour thanks to our driver Angelo and our experienced guide Lisbet ! We have done many tours with SAT GROUP and have never been disappointed : easy booking process, pick-up possibility at several places around Taormina, Giardini, Recanati. The program is respected, they are very punctual. During the trip we get a lot of practical information in several languages. Once arrived, our guide gives the detailed planning and let the guests decide if they join the group or go solo. Just be back in time, that's all. We recommend to stay with the group because Lisbet is an expert and takes time to answer questions and to give information you won't find in any book or brochure. Thanks, SAT GROUP, Angelo & Lisbet !

Like being on the surface of the moon.
I gave the tour a 4 because 4.5 was not an option. We did the SAT tour yesterday evening and were fully familiar with what to expect. Collected by minibus on time, close to our hotel in Giardini Naxos, we made our way up the mountain via a vista point to a parking area where the normal road ends. Here, after a glass of vino and welcome toilet break, we, after a 45-minute break, transferred to a huge 4x4 jeep/coach with another group of people. We then made our way up the mountain by tracks forged in a 2002 lave flow, which destroyed a lot of the area, stopping off at various vantage points. Note that this is not suitable for those unsteady on their feet or with open footwear because the surface is very loose underfoot. The views, however, were amazing with interesting descriptions from the guide. Once we arrived at the highest plateau that we could by road/track, we witnessed a beautiful sunset, amazing views of Etna going into silhouette, and as dark fell, you could see spectacular minor eruptions from the highest of craters. A jacket is required as in resort it was 35 degrees, but at the top, I could see my breath. The return journey in darkness was interesting and not for the faint-hearted. We were transported by SAT to a wooden eatery whereby you could participate in food and beverages which were perfectly adequate. By 23.30, we were back in resort (which was determined by time of sunset). The minor reason we didn't give it 5 circles is that it became a little confusing when we were combined with another group at the 4x4 transfer, and as there were several on the mountain at the same time you could easily become confused as to which vehicle the rest of the SAT party was on. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our etna experience. Thanks to Franco, who was attentive and entertaining.

Spoilt by broken down bus on return . An apology and an offer of a drink would be nice
Journey there and stay in Etna great. To return we were told that the bus would leave at 2.20pm. At 2.55pm told that there was a problem with bus. Told to get off bus as replacement with arrive at 4pm. Apparently not first time this has happened. An apology and an offer of a drink would have been appreciated.

Excellent all around, even when not accessing the lands of Stromboli
Though Stromboli was closed due to safety, this trip was phenomenal and worth the energy it sucks out of you! The start time is reasonable and the road trip to the motorboat was beautiful. The boat ride was a great experience, however I do wish I grabbed food before the boat. The boat does have good food, but I wind up only eating the boat food the whole day (minus a gelato and vino in Panerea). It is a long day, but it was all worth it! The beach is a decent walk, water shoes were my best friend and thongs could easily break due to the amount of walking and rocks. Walking a little extra to the Bay Area of the beach was again worth it, but not easy. Very little shade in all parts as well, I was lucky to have brought my light floaty because the rocks are uncomfortable and hot! The ferry home was a mixture of party vibes & exhaustion but it was great!

This was a very long day, but we knew that before we went, as the information provided was very clear. The tour company also collected us near our hotel which was very helpful.
However, what was not helpful was that the tour guides for this particular tour did not seem as fluent in English as they evidently were in other languages. The trip was marred by this as a consequence. We had very limited information during the tour round the temples and really very little time to see the ruins properly and do it justice. There were other aspects of the site that we just didn’t get to see or find out about. Given the length of the trip and the cost, it would have been better if we had was visited only one place giving us a decent amount of time to see the whole site. The piazza armerina mosaics were lovely but we would have preferred to just spend time at the valley of the temples.

Hello, our tour guides are usually expert in English, German and Italian and are always availbale for additional information requests. We are sorry you did not ask for more. Regarding Piazza Armerina, most of the customers love to vsit 2 different destinations in one single trip, so we do believe you should have asked for a tailor-made tour only for you spent at the Valley of the Temples. The overall trip was brilliant. Perfect weather helped, but the sites were amazing, the valley of the temples especially. The Roman villa was incredible, though a little crowded at times, but what you could see was amazing. Our guide was very nolegable, speaking first to our German colleagues before recounting information to the English tourists. The time to see each site was somewhat short, but you do travel a great deal, the meal after the villa does help keep spirits up though. Overall a joyous experience, though not something for those who aren't prepared to be trounced round a significant area of land.

Spent two full hours with an excellent tour guide, Carmelido Fuca, exploring. She brought the rich history to life and made clear a multi-millennium drama, that luckily preserved one temple and many other partial temples and alters from 400 BC.

Greeks, Carthaginians, and Romans are all players in the long history.

Nothing to laugh about about the trip, the Valley of the Temples is wonderful, as are the mosaics in Piazza Armerina. Booked at Sicily Emotion. The foreign tour guide dictated the law the entire time, welcomed me without even a good morning, resentful even though I was right on time, or rather, early. He also denigrated the Italians, absurd!
Without the group's knowledge, he booked a restaurant, poor quality food and hot drinks, he did not accompany us during the visit to Piazza Armerina, furthermore, the ticket prices were higher than those said by Sicily Emotion. She didn't even give us time to get around, rigid on timetables, and to top it off, the squalid gesture of asking for compensation for the driver, when the trip had already been paid handsomely! Terrible escort, but to tell the truth, the Sicily Emotion information office is also terrible. I will never book anything with Sat again.

Peccato! Saluti. SAT Group staff

Valley of the Temples 10 pts Wonderful Guide
    Villa Romana 5 pts

However it was a long ride from Taormina. The bus was air conditioned, but the seats too small and uncomfortable for my 6”1” frame, especially when the rider in front moved their seat back.
Also by the time we arrived at the villa I was dog tired.
Also the bathrooms adjacent to the Villa in the white building/restaurant/bar were absolutely filthy with broken seats and no paper.

We left Giardini Naxos early in the morning to discover the Valley of the Temples, our guide Renate was punctual, precise and very prepared. Then, after lunch we visited the farmhouse villa in Piazza Armerina with its splendid mosaics. The Sat group is a guarantee. We have done other trips with them many years ago and were satisfied and so again this year.

The visits to the temples and Villa were exactly as I expected. Although it was a fairly hot day, our guide at the Valley of Temples were extremely polite and considerate, helping us to find as many shady areas as possible. I had waited over 2 years for this experience and I was not disappointed. The only minus was the attitude of the guide as there was a problem with my booking. I was told it had been cancelled. I definitely had not cancelled this visit and the guide approached me in the middle of the bus within the earshot of all on board to say my tour was cancelled. I argued with her and she checked and returned to me three times which was very embarrassing. She asked me to pay 60 euros which I did not have. Said I would pay after the trip. Fortunately for me a very kind lady in the seat in front offered to pay this amount for me. The guide then left me alone. On the plus side the guide was very informative and knowledgeable and her language ability was excellent.
Additionally, the trip was advertised as 8 hours. By the time I returned to my hotel the tour turned to last for 13 hours which is a very long day. It would be a better idea if the company adjusted this to a more realistic time of 12 hours. As I have a great interest in Greek/Roman history this trip was a dream come true. I absolutely adored everything I experienced. It is definitely worth a visit but don't expect a short day.

We were so looking forward to this excursion and it did not disappoint! It’s a must if you don’t mind an early start! We had the pleasure of our lovely tour guide Renate. She was so knowledgeable and we felt safe in her hands that we boarded the right bus at the right time! She was so thoughtful and kind as my partner had injured her leg/foot earlier in the holiday and Renate was very patient with our slow walking! A really lovely leisurely lunch in a restaurant which offered traditional Sicilian food including Arancini.
Hats off to our driver who covered the distance of 580 Kms from Taormina to Agrigento and Valley of the Temples and then on to Villa Romana del Casale ensuring our safety and comfort.
It’s a longish day but well worth the journey.
A special thank you to our special guide Renate x

The Valley of the Temples and Villa Romana del Casale are defintely worth seeing. The guide explained most of the mosaics prior to getting to the villa. As for the valley of the temples, she did briefly explain each temple/monument. This is a LONG day. What I didn't like... the food at the lunch stop was terrible. By far the worst meal we had in sicily. Also the guide failed to point allow for bathroom stops and the bus didn't have a functional bathroom. After the last stop, we traveled over 3 hours to get back to Taormina (without a bathroom break). We did get stuck in traffic but the guide said that the "traffic is always bad." If it is warm out, bring an extra set of clothes to change in. There is not much shade at the valley of temples

Cancelled 4pm the night before the trip because they didn’t have enough people. This would have been known to them well in advance of the point they cancelled. Give people more warning so they can make other plans! This was supposed to be the highlight of our trip and given more notice we could have booked elsewhere.

Hello, our interest as a company is to make our customers happy and let them experience our tours and discover Sicily. This is a mission for us! In order to do that we need at least 12 participants. Unfortunately on that day we only had your booking and we have waited util the last minute trying and hoping to get other bookings but then at the end, with great regret, we were forced to cancel the tour. We are sorry for the inconvenience and apologize for that but, at the same you should have known that November is low season in Taormina and that our tours require a minimim quantity in order to cover the costs. We do not deserve a negative review. Regards. SAT Group Customer Manager
