About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- D1231CLlauraa0 contributionsA Great Way to Get to Know Venice and its FoodOur group of three (my husband and I, and our adult daughter) had a wonderful time getting to know Venice with Giada. She took us to a variety of eateries, where we experienced authentic Venetian cuisine - everything from spritzes to cichetti to chocolate to fritelle. Along the way, Giada shared lots of information with us about Venetian foods, and living in Venice. She even provided us with suggestions for other places to visit during the rest of our stay in Venice. We very much enjoyed our evening with Giada!Written 12 February 2025
- Z2853ZRpatm0 contributionsA lovely, charismatic Sunday strollWe spent a wonderful Sunday morning strolling around Dorsoduro with Marzia. She met us off the boat, bought us coffee and then we walked around in the peace and quiet learning about the area and Venice itself. There were some history lessons, cautionary tales, insights about Venice today and lots of smiles. Marzia was charming and if I lived in Venice, we’d go for walks all the time - so you should definitely go for a walk with Marzia too if you have the opportunity!Written 27 January 2025
- SweetHeartScene0 contributionsPersonalised exploration! We had a great time on our food tour. Genny was a brilliant host and customised the tour to suit our dietary needs. Friendly and engaging 10/10 would recommend.Written 26 January 2025
- DesmondD710 contributionsFamily friendly food tour!We toured with Adair as a family of five, including some members with allergies and intolerances. We still had a great time and were able to enjoy ourselves! Adair adjusted our stops and offered substitutes for those who needed them. We would absolutely book with her again!Written 30 December 2024
- John G0 contributionsA wonderful walking tour of VeniceClaudia took us on a walking tour of the Dorsoduro area of Venice. She was lovely from the start and very knowledgeable. It was great to talk about Venice with a local guide who became more of a friend as the tour went on. We have visited Venice many times but we saw new things and learnt a lot from Claudia. We ended the tour on a roof terrace close to the Rialto Bridge. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Thank you ClaudiaWritten 29 December 2024
- Stay160658630120 contributionsGreat tour of DorsoduroClaudia did a great job for us. The tour she prepared was very diverse, walking, great churches, a ride across the lagoon to Giudecca. The two and a half hours went by very quickly. We highly recommend Claudia as a fun, knowledgeable and personable guide.Written 27 December 2024
- Z2047GNmeganc0 contributionsPerfect Introduction to Venice!Elena was the perfect guide; when are ferry got delayed, she immediatley offered to meet us at a different starting place, and was there before we got off the ferry. She was engaging and full of stories of the history of Venice. She was engaging from start to finish. We truly enjoyed our time with her and would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Venice.Written 24 December 2024
- TBTDVM0 contributionsFood, drink, tour perfection! We were able to move the meeting spot easily to accommodate all travels. Claudia was perfection! She gave us the sights, educated us on Venice history and architecture/layout, and got us so much food and drink we almost couldn't walk home! We rode a gondola across the Grand Canal as part of the tour, too! She even pointed us to the easiest water bus back to the airport. Highly recommend this tour with a local. 5 stars!Written 13 December 2024

- Escape084522414770 contributionsA great day of even better foodWe had an excellent day with Alexandra. She was incredibly knowledgeable about not only Venetian food but the history around the city. She was very kind and personable, answering all of our questions and even teaching us tricks for navigating the city. We went to a few local spots we would have never found on our own and tried unique foods. Would highly recommend doing this at the start of your trip so you can learn your way around Venice and find food places you can go back to for the rest of your trip.Written 26 November 2024
- Derek H0 contributionsWonderful tour!My wife and I booked a private tour of Dorsoduro with Giada and it was a highlight of our trip! We asked Giada to take us to a few specific places, and she was very accommodating. She also was extremely knowledgeable of Venice and the entire area. We learned so much and truly loved the time with Giada. As a bonus, Giada is very knowledgeable of food and wine and gave us some excellent recommendations which we happily took advantage of. I would highly recommend this tour, or any tour, with Giada.Written 17 November 2024
- L5202PXshawns0 contributionsThe Best Food Tour Ever!!!We have taken several food tours all over Europe. This was the best tour ever. Our guide Alexandra was personable, knowledgeable, and provided insightful cultural/historical information to help us with our etiquette so we could treat Venetians properly. After our tour, we regretted not having more time in Venice. We now have a great appreciation of Venice, the people, and the food of the region. Thank you Alexandra, we had the best time!Written 16 November 2024
- kbplanet0 contributionsDelicious Tour, Excellent GuideMy husband Tom and I took the "10 Tastings of Venice" tour with Alexandra last week. We loved it! Alexandra guided us around Venice for three hours providing her insight into modern life in the city as well as some historical highlights. We tasted cicchetti and drank local wine in four locations. Alexandra is an enthusiastic, charming guide who answered all our questions and treated us really well. She lives in the city and knows a lot of the merchants - so we really felt like we were walking around the city with a local friend. My advice for people considering this tour is to arrive hungry and pace yourself with the bites, so you can taste them all. I highly recommend Alexandra as a guide for any Venice tour. But, this tour was particularly fun.Written 13 November 2024
- Ackamo0 contributionsInspiring Murano, Burano, Mazzorbo DayWords cannot describe what an inspiring, amazing day our family had with Marzia visiting Mazzorbo, Burano and Murano. From the very beginning, Marzia was so engaging (perfect English) by sharing her experiences as a lifelong Venetian…with information about history, art, architecture, culture, key religious and political figures, and stories of these magical spots outside the main tourist areas of Venice. We stepped back in time to Venice’s earliest developments and made connections to current day. She was so gracious with wonderful humor as we explored these 3 islands with churches, homes, merchants (e.g., Burano lace and Murano glass) and food. Thank you Marzia….we cannot wait to return to Venice!Written 11 November 2024

Lucia was a wonderful guide. She managed to make the visit to St Mark's and the Doge's palace highly enjoyable for all family members. We all learned a lot and had a great time. Having Lucia was a game changer for our children (ages 6 and 8): they normally lose interest in museums and picture galleries after a fairly short time, but this time they were engaged for the whole 2 hours.

Veronica was an amazing, smart, knowledgeable and interact well as a tour guide. We were exchanging emails until we finally met her in person. I’ve sent her tons of email enquiring about the tour and suggestions on what to do, where to eat & all other things not even related with her service. She replied all my enquiries & I was extremely grateful she was our guide. She bought the museum tickets for us and we reimbursed it on the day of the tour. Our experienced with Veronica was truly memorable and the reason we are coming back to Venice next year for another vacation this time we’ll stay longer and for sure we will ask her to be our guide. I found a friend in her. Words are not enough to thank her.

It takes a special person to engage with teens with history on a hot Venetian afternoon. Veronica’s energy was infectious, and her dynamic and passionate storytelling was the perfect option. She accommodated our requests (including an excellent place to eat straight after), keeping our children actively involved, and impressed both my husband and myself with her incredible knowledge. Highly recommend!

Because we were traveling with our grown-up children, we stayed in an apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom in Mestre, just like last year. The bus connection to Venice was again very easy and direct. Mestre is not necessarily cheaper than Venice when it comes to shopping, so we usually went shopping in Cannaregio on Sundays too.
We spent the first two days at the Biennale again, which was a bit disappointing because there was little architecture on display.
Unlike usual, Venice was very crowded. That's why we didn't go to St. Mark's Square at all this year, nor to the Basilica di San Marco.
A visit to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco is always worthwhile and we spent some time there. We were also in Torcello again, but didn't skip Burano entirely voluntarily because the vaporetto lines had been changed. A visit to the cathedral is recommended because of the explanations in German. The Chiesa di Santa Fosca was unfortunately completely closed for restoration.
Murano was very popular and we were able to admire the mosaics inside the Basilica di Santa Maria e Donato. The impressive architecture of the east side was covered up due to construction work, however.
In Venice we also visited the large churches of Santi Giovanni e Paolo and Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. If I had to choose, I would now give preference to the Frari.
On arrival, our children accidentally drove from the airport to Venice instead of Mestre and then spent two hours in the city. They happened to come across San Zulian near San Marco, which we didn't know, although we think we've already visited all of Venice's churches. We'll have to visit it because we didn't have the time this time.
But we were in Vicenza after visiting Padua last year. Vicenza is famous for Palladio's buildings. However, we were more impressed by the Teatro Olimpico (Vicenza).
Because Venice was so crowded at the end of October and beginning of November, we are not sure whether we will go to the art biennale again this year. Finally, we would like to note that although Venice had a lot of tourists, there was plenty of space at the biennale.
We can also confirm that the MO.S.E. project is effective. It was actually high tide when we visited, but we didn't notice anything other than a little higher water at the edge of the fish market.

We booked the Doge's Palace & St. Mark's Basilica tour with Veronica for my family of 4. Veronica was a blast to be with and this was our most memorable tour in Italy. Veronica is funny, knowledgeable, cute, and was very entertaining.
Since I booked the latest tour time there was to avoid some crowds and heat, Veronica was extremely accommodating and made all necessary arrangements prior to us arriving.
There is no question that if you go to Venice, Booking with Veronica is the absolute the best tour guide you will have. If we visit Venice again, there is no doubt we would seek her out for tours.

We had a great time learning all about her hometown of Venice from Romy. She brought an excellent perspective to the tour about the history of Venice and modern life there. Romy spoke English very well and was easy for us to understand. She responded well to our questions and gave us tips for enjoying the rest of our time there. Prior communication was quick and efficient, too. We'd recommend Romy as a guide without hesitation!

Our private tour using Veronica from With Locals was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend. With her expertise and enthusiasm, we learned so much and really experienced our tour of St. Mark's and the Doge's Palace the way it should be. She is passionate and so knowledgeable that we would never have gotten out of it what we wanted to without her. She made the process simple and fun with her communication to us as we arrived in the crowded St. Mark's square. One of our best decisions of our trip was using With Locals and Veronica!

We have a group of six from California. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the Doge\u2019s Palace and St. Mark Basilica with Veronica. She is so knowledgeable, and she gives us both the historical and fun facts about the palace and basilica. She is very passionate about her job. Our tour was supposed to be three hours but she took her time and gave us an extra 30minutes without rushing us to finish the tour. We highly recommend Veronica for tours in Venice.

The tour was fun. We got to go at our pace. Lots of interesting facts. I really wanted to do the tour that I picked and I really wanted the tour guide Veronica - after reading her reviews. Our adult kids really enjoyed her and the day. Just what we had hoped for.
