Must go if you love Vivaldi....
My husband & I were so glad we attended -- despite the rainy evening! It was worth The musicians are fabulous (& I know chamber music & good playing). The costumes & staging added to the performance and made us feel like were transported back to Venice as wealthy people! Our only "challenge" was figuring out (while it was raining), which line was for those of us who were in front section with reserved tickets! It would have been nice to have had a place to line up & wait inside!

    Stylish…
Great experience, and a great event for those looking for an introduction to classical music. I wouldn’t say the music was the best, but the experience was well worth it.

    Vivaldi Concert
The concert itself was excellent. However, we would have preferred to have chosen and paid for specific seats rather than be told to sit anywhere from row 4-12.

    Really good but now wow!!
The singers and musicians were really good. A little deceived by the theater, I was hoping a bigger and more decorated theater. Deceived also by the fact that we couldn’t take any short videos…. To remember, not even for posting….

This is such a magical evening in Venice. The singers are the very best and the show is beautifully crafted to be a great fit for everyone. This is a perfect tasting of opera in a setting that dreams are made of. Pure magic!

I liked so much the place, and I really enjoyed the concert. The musicians' clothing was very striking and eye-catching. I loved the maestro's performance in the second part.

    Delightful!
We went to the opera, and it was so great. It was bite-sized and all the recognizable “hits.” There are humorous characters and just the right length, so very entertaining! Well worth the time & money.

    What a shame!
As lovers of classical music, and since we found ourselves in the birthplace of Vivaldi—the enchanting Venice—we decided to kick off our stay by attending a concert: The Four Seasons! What better way to begin our vacation there? By chance, we stumbled upon the theater around noon on December 1st and bought tickets... thankfully, not the most expensive ones! Note: It was impressive (in a negative way) that they didn’t accept credit cards and only wanted cash! We arrived early to get good seats. The venue was beautiful, well-preserved, and truly set the mood for the era. Unfortunately, though, the same cannot be said for the musicians. The only redeeming aspects were their costumes and the cellist's commendable efforts to maintain some standard. He seemed desperately trying to hold things together. Where do we even begin? Should we talk about how almost everyone was out of tune (especially the first violin in the first part... we’d rather not even go there)? How they lost sync with each other? How it seemed they hadn’t rehearsed as much as they should have? Or how utterly uncoordinated they were? Even music conservatory students would have performed far better because, at the very least, they would have prepared seriously for such a concert. We can’t tell if it was just this particular performance that was so poorly executed or if it was a last-minute “cash grab” with minimal preparation and few rehearsals. But when you’re charging €45 per person (and in cash, no less), your performance level should be on par—especially in Vivaldi’s city, where expectations are exceptionally high. Our criticism stems from the fact that we are musicians in a major orchestra in Athens, Greece and teachers at conservatories, so we have significant experience and can easily recognize when something is poorly executed and sloppy. What a shame!

Loved experiencing a bit of historic Venice.
Music was good. Loved sitting in the "old" historic building with historic detail and musicians in period clothing.lived experiencing a bit of historic Venice.

This is a great experience and I would highly recommend it even if you're not familiar with opera. We went on 2 June 2022 and it was not busy. I would not bother paying extra for tickets at the front as it is only a small room and sitting further back would not spoil the experience. The seats are not pre-allocated but on a first come, first serve basis so get there early to get the best seats. Only downsides were no bar, limited toilet facilities and uncomfortable seats but still worth going. Do NOT pay any extra if booking tickets online. I was nearly conned into paying 89$ each in advance but at the theatre they are only 40 or 30 euros

Efficient presentation, quite accessible, having baroque only name or period. The character games are distracting, well prowled, and it’s easy to say that the excerpts were perfectly sung, with the right tones, and an unusual stage play, which is a plus. Do not hesitate, like us to be in the first row, I fear that after row 10 the sounds and therefore the interest will be diminished!

The show is only 90mins but in retrospect ample for what is in essence a bit of a 'greatest hits' show. To be honest, I really wasn't quite sure what to expect given the price point of this event. This was based on London prices for opera tickets being prohibitive for most people, so wasn't sure that the quality would be matching a high ticket venue. I couldn't have been more wrong! The show was amazing, from the costumes, to the musicians to venue. Really, really worth a visit if like me you are faced with £200 in your home town to get a similar experience. Would have gone again had they had another show during my stay. Just amazing. If you're curious to know a little more about Opera, it's a great way to get an introduction and feel part of a grand experience. Sadly no photos allowed during the performance but managed to get a slightly grainy photo at the end so pointless posting it but I can confirm what you see is what you get. There is no skimping on the fabulous costumery.

The baroque opera night option was great. I’m not an opera goer usually but I loved their vocals. Recommend having dinner first as many restaurants close at 10pm which is not long after the concert finish time.

We'd been to a different performance of Vivaldi's Four Season on a previous trip to Venice in a different location (Interpreti Veneziana at Chiesa San Vidal) and it was wonderful.

We had never been to a live opera and this seemed a good opportunity to sample several of the most famous arias. It did not disappoint. The location, as with San Vidal is fabulous. The musicians in their baroque finery we're stunning and the music/singing was very lively and the inter-acting witty and clever. It was all over too soon and I really recommend you try this even if you're not sure about opera.

Amazing standard of musicianship an a very engaging show, with the performers enjoing it as much as the audience. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, especilally those in two minds; it's very accessible, the music is brilliantly entertaining (you don't need to be a classical music/opera buff) and the concert is not too long - with a short break in the middle. An absolute highlight of my time in Venice. Thank you!!!

Attending a Musici Veneziani concert in Venice was an enchanting experience that transported me back to the grandeur of the Baroque era. Held in a beautiful historic venue, the musicians performed in lavish 18th-century costumes, adding to the immersive atmosphere. The ensemble played a captivating selection of classical pieces, including works by Vivaldi, which felt especially poignant being in Venice, the composer’s hometown.

The acoustics were excellent, and the musicians were incredibly skilled, bringing every note to life with passion and precision. The setting, with its rich decor and intimate ambiance, made the concert feel even more special.

Overall, the Musici Veneziani concert is a must for any classical music lover visiting Venice. The combination of authentic costumes, beautiful music, and the charm of the city creates a truly magical evening that you won’t forget!

We were walking in one of the busiest tourist areas of Venice (Rialto) when we saw a poster for this concert, essentially an opera revue with a nine piece orchestra and costumes. Certainly a tourist attraction. Maybe we would have preferred a full symphony performance. But that's not what we walked right by. So why not embrace it? There were three vocalists, and all were incredibly talented. The musicians were expressive and talented. For what it is, it's pretty much perfect!

When you think of an opera concert in Italy, you think of good musicians and good performances... It's regrettable to say that this didn't happen. Completely unreasonable value for the quality they present. I've seen singing students with much better performances.
They only let Venice look bad.

A brilliant evening's entertainment. We booked this because in Italy you must listen to some opera! I had considered going to a full length production but thought that 3 hours might be too long to sit through so decided on the Baroque costume opera which was a selection of songs from various well known operas. It was tremendous fun as the singers and orchestra were excellent and clearly enjoyed their performance. The singers were fully engaged with each other as welll as the audience and we loved every minute, we were on such a high by the end! We visited all the sights while in Venice and this was the highlight of our trip!
