What to expect
  • This is an extraordinary guided tour of the ‘Minor Venice’ to experience a more genuine side of the city... Thanks to its unusual itinerary, you will be able to explore some of the city’s most beautiful sights, usually not included in the regular tours of Venice. You will meander through the historical heart of Venice in the company of an experienced guide, who will provide you with key information and curious anecdotes about the long history of the city. You will have the chance to see the exteriors of famous architectural masterpieces such as La Fenice Opera House and the Rialto Bridge. Starting near St. Mark's Square, the tour will reach La Fenice - the major opera house in Venice, sadly notorious for being destroyed by fire - to let you admire its classical exteriors; the itinerary will then continue to Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, a great example of Gothic architecture. This elegant palace is famous for the original external staircase... Not easily to find on your own, this building is one of the most appreciated sights of our tour! The guided walk will end at the Rialto Bridge, a superb example of Venetian engineering which dates back to 16th century. Do not miss the opportunity to get in touch with the soul of Venice! Book now this fascinating tour and enjoy some of the lesser-known areas of Venice!

A fun way to discover some of the history of Venice
We really enjoyed this tour. Enrico was knowledgeable and entertaining. ( and his English was excellent. ) it was really enjoyable wandering around the quieter parts of Venice and discovering so many interesting facts and a great deal of trivia about the history of the city. A great way to spend our first morning in this beautiful city. Really excellent value for money. If you try it I’m sure you would enjoy it.

Fantastic, knowledgable and friendly tour guide. Spoke perfect English and showed us small details of Venice that we’d otherwise have missed!

Quite good but a tad disappointing
Sep. 2019
The disappointment came from two things: the guide was a bit dull and we thought the tour included the opportunity to climb the Scala Contarini which it didn't - although the tour passed the tower. We left the tour at that point and bought our tickets for the Scala, which was well worth it.

Dear Stevewfoster, we are sorry you were not completely satisfied with this experience. The tour you booked includes a walk in the most suggestive areas of Venice but, as indicated on our product page, it doesn't include any entry ticket to the monuments. They are visited from the outside only. We're sorry for the misunderstanding: we will treasure your review and make sure to give more focus to this important information. About the explanations provided during the tour, we assure you that all our guides are experienced and in possession of a license: clearly each one of them has got their own way of speaking and probably this particular guide didn't meet your taste. Thank you for your feedback, it's very important for us and we will definitely report it to the guide who was in charge that day. Best regards, Michela, Venetoinside.com

Nothing special, and not even close to being 1.5 hours long
Aug. 2019
The tour started 15 minutes late due to people showing up exactly when the tour was supposed to be leaving. So we had to deal when them getting headsets, and of course one of the headsets didn't work. So, instead of leaving at 3:45 pm we left at 4 pm. No biggie, we're on holiday and I didn't have anything else planned for the day.

The tour consisted of the standard highlights of Venice. A regular tour would have had a similar itinerary. There were no off-beat sights as advertised.

I was disappointed in what we were shown, and even more disappointed when we came back before 5pm. So the tour ended up being less than an hour in length.

This is a generic large-group walking tour that is 1 hour in duration.

Dear corym576, we are sorry about what happened. Unfortunately during the hight season, Venice is densely populated by tourists so it may happen that our most requested tours start a little late for organizational reasons necessary to check the vouchers. As far as the itinerary of the guided tour, we are sorry that you didn't find it adequate however, in the page of our website relating to the tour in question, the points and places that you will visit during the tour are clearly indicated. The duration of the tour indicated on the description page is indicative but, if the tour lasted less than 1 hour and 15 minutes so as you wrote, we kindly ask you to send us an email to info@insidecom.it with the details of your reservation and the problems you found during the visit. Our Customer Care will investigate what happened and will reply you as soon as possible. Thank you for your review, your feedbacks are very important for us! Kind Regards, Michela Morosini venetoinside.com

Hidden Venice Tour
Jul. 2018 • Couples
We took this late afternoon tour and found our guide to be very engaging, knowledgeable and informative. It was an easy walk and the history of the area was presented to us. The tour ended with a gondola ride that lasted about 30 minutes or so. Over all a good experience and a good value. I would highly recommend.
