Make sure you know the name of your stop!
Took the boat from Venice airport into the centre as thought it would be a nice way to travel. We located the desks and bought our tickets and the staff were very helpful telling us where we needed to go and expressly telling us we were the second stop…..fast forward to arriving into Venice. We were tracking the journey on google maps and when we arrived at the first stop it was close to where we needed to be, so were delighted that the second stop should be even closer! We stayed on the boat which then proceeded for another 10mins into the centre getting further and further away from where we needed to be. When the second stop finally arrived we were 40mins walk away from the initial stop, I asked the driver if there was going to be another stop and he turned his back and ignored me. The second man told me there are no ‘stops’ and we should’ve got off the first one. No further advice than that. So much for great customer service and we were left with a 40mins walk with heavy luggage in the midday heat.

        Great way to arrive!
A fantastic way to arrive in Venice. Well organised with welcoming staff on the reception desk (Desk 71 upstairs!). We had to wait about 20 minutes to gather a full boatload. Dropped very close to our hotel and provided with a detailed map showing us how to do the short walk the rest of the way. Would certainly choose this arrival method again.

Water taxi transfer from san Marco
Clear sign for us at the airport, very helpful and courteous transfer - willing to change destination at last minute when we were advised by accommodation. Excellent. Highly recommend this.

Great inexpensive transport from airport to San Marco, but Beware of toilette at San Marco Stop
The ride from Marco Polo airport to San Marco was amazingly on time for each stop which was a nice surprise! The view is very nice and scenic although there are patches of water that were rough most likely due to other boats passing by very closely. Nonetheless the ride was very enjoyable. One thing to beware of is the toilet at San Marco stop which is right in front of the dock for the boat. Like in other parts of Europe there is a charge to use the toilet which is €1.5. There are no instructions how to get into the bathroom and there it is a lady standing at the entrance who looked like she worked there but completed ignored all of my questions. I was In a rush to get on the next boat back to the airport which should’ve been obvious. I finally figured that I had to pay the money in the machine but when I tried to insert the money, the lady who ignored me up until then, stopped me, took my money which was 2 euros, and ignored my request for change. On top of that, she let all the Italian people around me go in and out of the toilet first before letting me go through. If you see a big Afro Italian lady at the entrance of the toilet make sure to give her exactly the €1.5 not a euro more as you will not receive any change.

A wonderful way to get to Venice from the Airport!
We had a great experience taking this water taxi from the airport to our hotel in Venice. We purchased tickets in advance and the booth where we checked in was easy to find when we got off the plane, situated on the lower level. There were only two of us, and we met one other couple and a family of 4, before we were all led to the dock together. We all fit in the water taxi with our luggage and our stop was the last one at St Mark’s square.

        Perfect, seemless transfer.
The boat was on-time at our hotel. The transfer to the van was prefect. The driver met us at the boat, helped unload the luggage and walked us to the van, which was very close. Ride to the airport was great.

A reliable, no frills service from Airport to Venice and return
A good reliable, no frills service. Both journeys were punctual, and whilst having a meal one night near the Fondamente Nova stop and noticed all the Aliluguna boats seemed to be on time to and from the airport (we wanted to see it was reliable for our return journey so we weren't late for our flight home). A couple of things to be aware of... The boats can get full, especially if you have lots of luggage. We weren't allowed on the first one that came because of this, but this meant we were at the front of the queue for the next one that came along. I'm not sure if you can book a specific boat to ensure you set a seat but didn't see an option for this on the website. It may pay to allow a little extra journey time for this when catching a flight. Second thing is that if you pay for tickets online you still need to get a physical ticket to travel. This means getting to a ticket office with the receipt and/order reference for them to issue a ticket to travel. You cannot just show your emailed booking receipt to travel. This was made clear when booking but I noticed some others have commented on this in their review. Not all stops have a ticket office so check the website for where they are.

        Terrible Experience
We got all the way to the boats only to be told we had to go back to the terminal to get our tickets. A 30 minute round trip walk! We didn’t have time to do it so we just paid for a different transfer. This wasn’t very well explained. We deserve a refund.

        Look out for Desk 71
Glad I read the reviews prior to travelling, as there is no mention in the docs we had printed saying we had to go to desk 71 for the actual tickets for the boat taxi. Basically, once you go passed passport control, head upstairs to the left and desk 71 is located there. Present docs in exchange for the boat taxi ticket. Go along the moving pavement to the end, which is where the boat taxis are. There were 10 (including us) on the taxi and albeit a little cosy, there was just enough room to feel comfortable. After about 30mins on the water, the boat taxi dropped us off at the nearest stop along the Grand Canal to where we were staying. Pls don't think it goes within an inch of your accommodation. Cost us £75, which is half had we have booked a private taxi for the 2 of us. Overall, would recommend.

        Nasty experience. Terrible!
Terrible service and experience. There is no way to buy tickets outside of the port, unless you have a card that you can’t buy there, nor is there a QR code, nothing at all, their website is pretty much obsolete, if you try to buy them in the boat they will try to charge you a 50 euro fine per person, since you have to buy the tickets before getting on the boat, basically they make it difficult to buy them so they can fine you. The workers were pretty aggresive and condescending even though we tried to reason the situation with them and pay the tickets, they also wanted our passports, we told them to call the police and they started to insult us. If this is a private company I hope the government takes their licences away since they are pretty much scammers, fortunately we were able to get out of the situation without paying the fine nor them stealing our passports (which we don’t carry around obviously), we just left the boat at the next port even though they got in our way and tried to restraint us, they followed us outside of the boat and started to insult us and our country, once again, then they started to clap like clowns. Luckily we found a local that was pretty nice and oriented us.

        Horrible service
Horrible and unnice people in the service. I was asking in the public ticket office for publick ticket not like this. Strongly not recommend. We were waiting in hot day 36'C for a boat for more the 30 minutes because they didn't say which boat is the right one, ticket are not working with the maschine. We were with kids. When we asked fir help, they went away saying "they don't speak English". First time in Italy I met so.unplesen service. Don't go with them! (Ticket office in the Venice car interparking Tronchetto)

Not a lot more expensive than the bus
Great way to arrive and depart, boats seem to leave when they have enough people, we arrived at the desk and were told to get a coffee as would be about 35 mins wait, we didn’t go for a coffee we just sat at the desk, another group of people arrived 3 mins after us so the boat was ready to go after 5 mins, brilliant. However the couple in front of us in the queue went for a coffee and missed that boat.

Great way of getting from airport to hotel
The water taxi from the airport to the hotel was great. We couldn’t find the desk 71 to book in at the airport and instead found ourselves at the water taxi base. A driver could see we were a bit lost and came over to help. It turned out he was our driver after he phoned the desk on our behalf. Great way to make the journey to the hotel.

We caught the Alilaguna water transport from Madonna dell'orto stop to the Venice airport.
We caught the 0730hrs service, looked into these transfers the night before and the sign at the dock said tickets could be purchased on board.
The boat arrived on time, this stop is the last one the route to the airport, boat was absolutely packed. Asked the driver if we could purchase tickets on board, he grunted and pointed at a QR code to scan for a link to the website. Got onto the ferry with our suitcases,
the driver grunted at us to sit down. Where? Every seat was taken! Fortunately the other passengers shuffled around so we could squeeze on to the seat. The top deck was full of luggage. Once you sit down, you can't see out the windows so the trip was very average.
Whilst on route to the airport, we attempted to purchase the tickets online, website is so dodgy! It looks as though it hasn't gone through once you get past the payment, it's meant to show the tickets but shows a blank screen. So we attempted to do it again on a different device with a different browser. Same issue!
If you use this service, check your email for tickets (they didn't come through immediately, but came through before we arrived at the airport) before attempting to purchase tickets again. We got charged 3 times ($125AUD in total) for one very average trip.
Once you arrive, there's a gate where you need to scan the QR code on the ticket to get out of the ferry dock into the air port. The QR code didn't scan on their machine and the attendant had to swipe us through manually anyway.
If I had my time over, I'd organise some kind of private transport in advance. At the bare minimum, we made it to the airport on time.

We had such a great time in Venice with just very nice people everywhere. That was until we boarded the waterbus towards the airport. On the first boat we were told we could not take it as we could only pay for tickets with cash. Which we did not have since we we found tickets online. So we got off, got cash, waited 30 minutes for the next boat and then were told we could NOT pay with cash and had to buy tickets online.

I mentioned that we actually could not board the previous boat as they said it was not possible to buy online tickets and then the guy very angrily said that if we had any issues with buying online tickets we could leave and wait 30 more minutes for a next boat. Like what the hell? As if you have all the time in the world when you need to catch a flight that day.

Such a weird experience with both boat members being very rude to everyone who did not speak Italian.

This is my second time writing a review for this trip. My first one was apparently removed. I booked this option for our return trip from Venice to the airport. I never received a confirmation that I had this booking, and when I proceeded to attempt to cancel the booking the day before our departure, I was unable to get in contact with anyone from the Airport link transfer outside of office hours.
We were able to make alternate arrangements for a ride to the airport using a public transport option, which worked out great. When I requested a refund in advance of the pick up time that we had requested, I was denied the refund. I advise travelers to seek alternate means of transport to/from the airport.

This was a great way to travel from the airport to our hotel San Cassiano which had its own dock so we were dropped off right outside. It was also the first stop from the airport, which was nice as it was an extremely hot afternoon and we were longing to get to our hotel and settle in. The service was fast and well organised. Upon arrival, the desk is hard to find, you need to go left after you come through Customs and into the arrivals hall, go up the stairs, keep going left following the water taxi signs and then the desk is on the left before you get on the moving walkway down to the water taxi dock, which is to your right. We shared it with 3 other parties and there was enough room on board. There was 20 mins waiting time, then 20 mins on the boat to our hotel. At €33 per adult, it is a mid range price for a transfer. You can go to the Allilaguna desk in the same location and buy a return ticket for €27 return on the public water taxi, however the San Stae stop was a few streets away and we decided the extra expense was worth it to be dropped right outside our hotel in the heat and humidity of the afternoon. Alternatively you can pay €140 upwards for your own private transfer. I would recommend this company and found all their staff to be extremely helpful. The booking process was simple. I would use this service again.

This airport is among the worst we've ever been to. We really enjoyed our visit to Venice, but the airport is so frustrating that it may well keep us from ever returning. The lack of clear signs is just appalling in an airport that serves so many international travelers. We had trouble finding where to return a rental car because of small, poorly placed signs. Then when flying out, we had to ask someone where to check our bag because there were simply no signs providing this basic, essential information. Most appalling of all, after clearing the security line, a monitor told us to go the Passport Control, but there were no signs telling us where to find Passport Control. We finally had to ask two different airport staff before we found it. There we finally saw a sign in big letters "PASSPORT CONTROL," but it was too late to do any good, because it was located at Passport Control, instead of directing us to it. This situation would have been comical if we were not trying to catch a flight. Under the circumstances, it was just extremely annoying. We vowed never to use this airport again.

Very straight forward process. The first voucher needs to be exchanged for a ticket at the desk in the airport where you are then shown the way to the boat, very easy, friendly staff and only a ten minute walk within the airport. The return trip was from the same boat stop we were dropped off at (apparently not always the case), just be aware that, when telling you that you will receive an email the afternoon before confirming the pick up time, this may well be sent direct to the hotel, rather than yourself, so check with reception. We didn’t know this and had a little panic on the morning of departure. Otherwise a great transfer to and from the airport, not expensive and a great experience

We arrived at our pickup point 15 minutes early as requested in the instructions. 10 minutes after our pickup time we called the emergency contact number given in the instructions to be told the driver would be there in 2 minutes. After another 10 minutes pass called again to be told the boat had mechanical issues and he would be there in 2 minutes. Another 10 minutes go by and a gentlemen comes and picks us up. We drive around Venice for 45 minutes picking up others and return to the same pickup point we started at before proceeding to the airport. From the time we were picked up and got to the airport it was 90 minutes not counting the 45 minutes we waited to be picked up. Do your self a favor and book a private transfer. This company was the worst.

Meeting point was not extremely clear as there were several other taxi services at the same area. Nobody around at 6:20AM. The airport taxi arrived a few minutes late. Enough to make you panic especially on your way to the airport. After he arrived, it was smooth.

Best way to get to and from the Airport.
We had booked a shared water taxi to and from Marco Polo Airport.
On our return back to the Airport our flight was early, the pick up time was 6.30am.
The driver of the boat turned up at 6.20am, and we were the only ones on the transfer!
A bonus as a private transfer is quite a lot more!

Fantastic way to taxi back to the airport after seeing wonderful Venice. Very helpful driver, great views and half the price of a private taxi with only 12 people max. pick you up as close to hotel as they can and they email your hotel the day before with pick up time and location. Excellent service.
