Be aware, there are NO toilets on the Alilaguna boats plying the Marco Polo airport to Venice route. The journey takes 90 minutes and could leave you in some embarrassment. At the airport you might find yourself in a long queue waiting to board a boat, maybe 60 minutes but at least there are toilets close by in the airport.

When you arrive at your disembarkation point there are NO toilets in the docking points. If desperate you would need to sit at a cafe, go to the loo, and then buy a drink.

If you are of a certain age, a man with bladder issues, I would recommend you consider a river taxi(fast, direct to your accommodation but very expensive) which would give you a beautiful and exciting way to arrive in Venice and CRUCIALLY would help you feel more relaxed!

I read lots of reviews before purchasing this shared taxi and many people said it was hard to find your taxi. The details say to get a voucher and then go to water taxi area, stand 71. In fact, just head straight to water taxis, very well signposted, and the taxi bay for this ticket is 7 ( I wonder if the 71 is a typo ). We had to wait for 35 mins until all of the passengers had arrived and there were 10 of us. It does not cost much more to have a private taxi so this would be a better option if you don’t want to wait. That said it was a lovely introduction to Venice for my daughter who had never been before.

After spending 12 hours flying we were tired and ready to get to our Airbnb. This was easy and fast. The desk to check in was easy to find. The staff friendly and helpful. We were very excited about trip and taking a boat and seeing Venice from the water for the first time in person was like a curtain opening on a long anticipated play. Fir ease and a great way to end a long day of travel I highly recommend.

We were spending the day in Venice as had a late flight home after a holiday in the Dolomites. Getting to Venice via this service was good as there was barely anyone else on the boat. Unfortunately heading back to the airport was another matter. When the boat got to our stop it was full. People were panicked because they had flights to catch and the next one was not for sometime. The driver had no empathy with his customers and ended up yelling at my daughter when she asked what were we supposed to do as we had a flight to catch. This was not a cheap boat ride and as it was a very busy tourist month, August, the company really should provide a lot more times, such as every 10 minutes. A stressful end to our holiday.

Absolute rip off, I do not recommend taking these guys. We paid 15 euros each to get to the airport, the boat was late and would not take us... They told us another one would come in twenty minutes, it did not come at all. We asked for a refund they refused so we ended up taking a taxi boat for 180 euros with other passengers that were supposed to be on the same boat.
From the other reviews that i have read after this experience it seems that this is extremely common for this company, so I would say please don't waste your money on them....

Our boat captain was very efficient and friendly. He did an amazing job driving through powerful wakes and maneuvering through the narrow areas under the bridges in Venice. My Italian is terrible so I can’t remember how to spell his name but our boat was N15. Great first experience in Venice! 😊

Great way to see Venice coming in from the airport.Seeing how the water taxi drops you off directly to your steps into the hotel was so interesting. Also to be able to see the beautiful city by boat was so fun.

Beautifully clean airport. Once you arrive head towards the boat taxi. Be very mindful of the various prices. Personally I would recommend the alilaguna, take a nice slow meandering towards the most amazingly attractive city on earth.
The airport has every thing you need from food to toilets

We arrived with no clear directions where to go in order to meet our transport. The description said someone will meet us after the luggage pickup. We waited and after 20 minutes decided to walk to the boat taxi area. Once at the water taxi there was no signage for the company listed on the coupon. After asking and getting inaccurate directions twice, which left us repeatedly walking back and forth along the taxi piper, someone told us to wait at piper 7. A man eventually appeared and then had to call for the taxi to pick us up. After an additional 20 minutes, by which time the remaining passengers on our shared boat taxi had arrived, the boat arrived and we were on our way. The boat driver was friendly and the ride was enjoyable.
The length of time we spent waiting around, we could have taken the public transport (bus or water taxi).

Weather was glorious, the launch trip in was wonderful, only down side was the long wait to board the launch. We collected our ticket at the airport and directed to walk to the dock, to meet ‘Franco’ - not knowing if he was the pilot or steward. We waited at gate 7 and finally we worked out Franco was the Steward (so make yourself known) who eventually got us on a launch. The delay was by no means a disaster it just took you off the ‘High’ we were on. Still the ride in was spectacular, be prepared for the turn in onto the Grand Canal which is truly memorable.
Wonderful experience, best way to enter Venice.
