We were delayed by nearly two hours due to lost luggage, but they were waiting for us and offered us a taxi within 10 minutes - just what we needed after a frustrating time at the airport. The office is easy to find and the staff friendly. The water taxi dropped us right by our hotel and the trip was amazing - it is really the only way to arrive in Venice. Would highly recommend.Written 24 December 2024
- Info E0 contributionsPay the extra to get more!We were the last group to go. Our gondola person was being g an ass the moment we all got on the boat. He was barely able to make an effort to tell us the historical sites on the way. All this was actually fine as we didn’t really expect much… it was what he said in the end… upon our arrival, they were asking for tips and we were accessing our cash looking to see where we give it and the person called my man a puta. He questioned the gondola person by saying what did you just call me? We went ahead and tipped but it was very sad they were so quick to assume or judge. I did feel bad as the tip basket was pretty empty. I loved riding on gondola as it was peaceful, at sunset and romantic nonetheless…Written 20 December 2024

There was 4 in our Gondola along with the Guide/Steering person, and the Guitar player. The Gondola next to us had the Singer and we went side by side the whole trip as they played and sang. People were on the bridges recording this great adventure. It was well worth the extra fee for the Serenade Ride.Written 9 December 2024

The gondola ride was the highlight, offering a unique and peaceful way to see the canals. The captain who helped me descend from the boat pulled my arm so strongly that I now have torn ligaments on my rotator cuff. I am in physical therapy as a result. When I contacted the Bucintoro's customer service in Venice, not only did he deny that he had ever touched me, but he blamed my son, who helped me after the captain had pulled on my arm 2 times. The company refused to take any responsibility.Written 13 November 2024
- Jillian3110 contributionsExcellent overview of Venice with gondola ride at the end! This was a lovely way to see some hidden gems while on a 1-day trip to Venice! The tour guide, Frederica, for the walking tour was so knowledgeable and friendly. She shared some great tidbits about the history of Venice. After the 1-1.5 hour leisurely walking tour, you line up for a 20-30 minutes gondola ride in the grand canal. FYI- you have to share the ride with 2 other people unless you request and pay more for a private one. Also FYI- the walking tour does not include entrance to any museums or the basilica. Plan to do that separately! PS the gondola stop is right in front of the famous Harry’s bar if you’re looking for a drink in an historic place!Written 7 November 2024

He led us round some really interesting parts of the city and drew attention to details so easily missed just wandering round alone. As with all things Venice it’s a lot of walking and at a reasonable pace. The gongola ride was ok. Nice to get a slightly different view of a little of the city but even in October it’s so busy you spend some time in ‘Gondola Jams’. Worth doing this just for the walking tour imoWritten 17 October 2024

Upon booking Venice, we realised how many islands actually surrounded Venice and we knew that if it was possible, we had to check them out. So, we did some research and found that there were tours of each island happening from the docks not far from our hotel. However, as we had left it quite late, most of the tours had sold out before we had an opportunity to book them.
Then we found this tour.
Not only was it affordable, it made good for time, only taking up about four hours of the day so that we could still explore and make the most of our short trip to Venice. Originally, it seemed like we wouldn't have enough time to look around, and while more time would have been nice, fifty minutes was a plentiful amount to search each island and explore.
The boat ride to each island was provided with a tour, with both English and Italian translations, in which we were taught about the islands we were passing and their history. Although it was a bit hard to hear over the chatter, it was still interesting to learn about.
On the first island, we were immediately taken to watch the art of glass making, an impressive, yet hot technique of making glass. It was interesting to watch how it was done and we were then shown a room full of glass art that was available for sale. While it was out of my price range, I could appreciate the beauty and talent of each piece. Due to the demonstration, we were given less time to explore, but plenty of time to take a look around and buy a snack if need be.
Our second island was a lot quieter and it felt as if less people lived there, but it was still a breathtaking sight. We walked along the water, passing restaurants and vendors, until we found some kind of historical building. Due to our time frame, we were unable to explore much, but we managed to take in the sights and even watched an accordion player.
Burano was one of my favourite places visited on the trip. A beautiful and colourful island indeed. We were dropped off and left to explore the rainbow and it was absolutely gorgeous, full of vibrant colours. Each building seemed to be some kind of shop, mostly selling jewellery or artwork, each beautiful to look at - we were even able to spot a cat. Before leaving the island, we managed to find a bit of shade under a tree to relax and keep out of the sun before moving on.
By the time we arrived back to Venice, we had definitely felt we had seen and learnt a lot about the islands off of Venice. For the price of the tour, I highly recommend it, as you get to not only visit each island, but you learn about them at the same time.

It was a bit confusing as to how the tour worked. Unlike other tours you got the ticket at what looked like the public transport ferry. You could not hear more than 25% of what the tour guide was saying. That being said the three stops were excellent as was the Murano glass blowing show. The ferry had a loop of the three stops that you could do in your own for a little cheaper. I am guessing anyone could join the glass blowing show as they were trying to sell you things afterward. I would still recommend going, but I would not consider it the best tour.

The first leg of the tour had sound difficulties, we were unable to hear/understand the guide. This was reported and we were told that it will be fed back to the organisers. At Murano we watched the craftsman demonstrate glass blowing, then we were invited to purchase their merchandise. Please note, the original items are extremely expensive (a small vase €200+, the cheapest items were some earrings €40). 2nd Island was Torcello, could do without stopping there. The most beautiful was Burano. Many little gift shops, coffee shops, places to eat etc. Overall, we are glad we had opportunity to visit. Having been given an opportunity to visit Venice again, we will visit Burano again and perhaps spend a little more time there.

To do! For €25, a speed dating excursion that lasts almost 4 hours with breaks of 50 minutes on each island. Allows macro vision of Burano, Murano and Torcelli. Explanations of the guide in all languages.
Only small negative point: the visit of the glassware in 10 minutes with demonstration of a glass blower => shop after very commercial...!
I recommend exploring the other nearby stores that have more beautiful creations to offer at more honest prices.
And the return with sunset was sublime!!!
Departure time for us: 12:30. Return at 16:30

Burano is beautiful with its colorful houses and is highly recommended as a regular scheduled trip on the water bus. If you want to avoid the crowds of tourists, this is probably best done early in the morning or in the evening.
Two stars
The rest of the trip is unfortunately bad mass tourism. The boat with a multilingual guide only has a few seats outside. It is also so loud inside and outside that you can hardly hear the guide. On the way you see ships that have a completely airy upper deck.
No star
The first stop in Murano takes you to the glassblowing factory. The show takes what feels like five minutes, then you are guided through the overpriced shop with glassblowing items. The highlight: everything is reduced by 50 percent (but is still way above normal prices).
No star
The boat sets off again after a 50-minute break to go to Torchello. The walk to the church there may be quite nice in normal temperatures, but not in midsummer. It is far too hot. The first restaurant is also a mediocre tourist stop. The 50 minutes on this island would be better spent on Burano.

We booked this sight-seeing tour in the tours and excursions shop just opposite Venezia S. Lucia train station for 25€ per person. This was around 4 and a half hours long. We were picked up outside of KFC and set off visiting the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. If you like exploring, then this is the tour for you. You hop off at each of the 3 islands and are given around 50 minutes to an hour to explore. You can use this time to wonder around or grab some food and drink. All 3 islands were unique and worth a visit. You visit a glass making factory where they give you a demonstration which was cool. One of the islands is famous for the colourful houses. Torcello has a local restaurant not far from the water taxi stop where they serve lovely fresh Italian pizzas. Worth a go!

very good and efficient.
The boat was always on time. The guide gave a multiple reminders about the time of departure from each island to avoid any confusion. They always left on time but never too early - so there was no problems if people were on time.
Not huge amount of time on each island - but enough to see the main attractions.
The guide speaks only during the boat trip - just a bit of info about the sights etc.
We loved it and the value for a family was amazing as it was cheaper than buying separate tickets if we did it ourselves.

I see a lot of mixed reviews on this tour. I feel that it was worth it just for the easy transportation from Venice to the 3 islands, since arranging that on your own with water taxis could be time consuming and cumbersome.
In Murano there was a brief glassblowing demonstration, then you're funneled into the gift shop. There was hardly any time on the island after that, but I'm not sure if there was much else to see. Plenty of time for Torcello, and I wish we had more time in Burano since it was amazing.
It was fairly rushed at each island, but if you're just looking to get a taste of each of them this is a good option.

I recently had the opportunity to experience this tour, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. While I understand that challenges can arise, the overall experience was disappointing due to several critical issues.
First, the guide’s communication skills were inadequate. Their explanations were unclear, making it difficult to understand the historical or cultural context of the places we visited. Additionally, there was a noticeable lack of recommendations or valuable insights, which I believe are essential for a memorable and informative tour.
Second, the team operating the boat seemed overwhelmed by even minor complications. Their stress was evident and created an uneasy atmosphere for the passengers. As professionals, I expected them to handle situations with more composure and efficiency.
I highly recommend addressing these issues by providing additional training for the staff in both communication and stress management. Enhancing these aspects could significantly improve the overall experience.

The excursion seemed promising, but sadly did not live up to expectations. Our first stop was the Murano glassblowing demonstration, which we later found out we had visited the day before for a cheaper price and even received a souvenir. Despite this, revisiting was still enjoyable. With only 20 minutes to explore the island, it felt far too rushed. The next stop, Torcello, also offered just a short 20-minute visit, leaving us little time to truly experience the place. Burano, however, stood out as a beautiful island where we were meant to see a demonstration on creating knitted runners, but this was overlooked, and we only had a frantic 15 minutes to explore. Feeling the time constraints, we opted to end our tour on this island to fully enjoy its beauty. Overall, the trip felt hurried on each island, and we did not find it worth the experience.
