About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Adventure280080312810 contributionsTerrible tour, way too crowded and boarding the boat was a total disasterI’m sitting on the lord Byron as I type this to tank this tour. They combined two tours making it way too dense and crowded on the boat. First stop was Porto venere and when it was time to get back on the boat, we shared a dock with four other boats making onboarding a disaster in the heat. I had little children and it was a horrible experience. I already want to get off this tour after one stop. Avoid the stress and look for something elseWritten 11 July 2024

- H16KSY0 contributionsA Grand Day out!!Staying in Pisa, took the train to La Spezia and boarded The Lord Byron… Crew are fantastic, Ramona , even better, sorting out the whole day by WhatsApp…Thankyou!! Writing this on the boat now with an Aperol Spritz, enjoying the sun!! Great day in Monterosso (3 hours) and Vernazza…. Stunning coastline and another off the ‘bucket list’. Well organised and professionally executed experience 👏🇮🇹Written 26 June 2022
- 585paulv0 contributionsGreat way to visit the villagesThis service is only available during certain times of the year. It is an efficient way to see and visit the cinque terre villages (some great views) instead of kicking from one to the other. Schedules are such that you can visit a village and catch the next ferry to go to another village. Tends to be crowded at times. We had some issues with buying tickets on line, but were able to get them at the ticket office in Manorola. Recommended.Written 2 May 2022

This cruise was supposed to go to Cinque terre but the rough seas made it difficult so they offered us a refund or we could go to Portovenerre and receive a 20% discount. We chose the latter option. We had a nice day and the guide was lovely but really it could have been much better organised. We could have visited the last stop first (so dull I don’t remember the name) and the first stop last, to leave a much better impression. The stop at Portovenerre was very beautiful and we saw where Lord Byron used to go to be inspired. Absolutely stunning scenery of nature. Also a beautiful church and little lane with small shops. Very picturesque. Lots of lovely souvenir options too, not mass produced. There was a spot to swim but they gathered us up to go over to the other side of the water where there was just 1 cafe (instead of 10-15 to choose from) and the rocks were so sharp I cut my feet trying to have a swim. The swimming was better on the other side and there were so many choices of things to look at or do or eat. Badly organised but still a lovely day.

Booked this ferry boat tour for our group of 12 people prior to arriving in Italy only to have it cancel on us with no explanation 2 days before our scheduled date. Luckily we were able to rebook with a private boat tour at the last minute but with a different itinerary. We were told if it doesn’t fill they cancel the sail not sure if that is true or not.

They did not perform the planned activity fir which we paid and we did not see any village of cinque terre.
Got mail day prior to our departure that only 2 stops will be maid due to rough see conditions.
Monterosso and Portevenere. We will get refunded 20% because of this change.
Or full refund if not joining the tour.
We went on the boat and before onboarding got the question we were aware of having 2 stops iso 3. We confirmed.
Big was our unpleasant surprise (and other passengers) after the Portovenere stop, we will we dropped at the island across (nothing to do) for 2,5hours to be picked up afterwards and hence no stop in Monterosso.
After the island pickup went to circle around some other tiny islands and sadly nothing got to see of Cinque Terre villages.
Lacking proper communication and went on when I explained the situation to their office workers. And the fact we were truly misled. Felt being scammed on the spot while being dropped at the almost deserted island .
Back and forth on communication first few times and then nothing at all anymore..

Company changed our planned trip to the next day, but luckily we were still able to go. Good commentary on board. Full marks to Stefano, our English speaking guide, who gave us great information on each of the three towns that we visited, Riomaggiore, Monterosso and Vernazza. He also pointed us to lovely restaurant where we had lunch.

This is the tour to do to avoid the crowds and have a leisurely time at see. Ramona is just fabulous - really knowledgeable and super helpful.
our train to La Spezia got canceled on the morning of the trip which meant we couldnt get there. I emailed to ask if we could go on next trip which she accomodated.
The boat is lovely - loads of space and nicely done out.
The tour is awesome - and you get plenty of time in each town.
Just do it !

We took the train on our first day between towns and decided to take the ferry on the second day. It is a totally different perspective and goes to some towns that the train does not like Port Venere. Very smooth ride, always on time, very clean and friendly service.

The tour was as described and enough room for all
Stopped at the three as promised and the journey was fabulous and so was the quick commentary. Staff were lovely and helpful to those struggling to get on and off the boat. Felt safe and well worth the trips.

The crew was lovely, kind, knowledgeable and welcoming with the travelers. A separate note to mention that they were extremely prompt! The ship was well maintained and clean. The WC was well appreciated! They also provided guide in multiple languages. It was an amazing day because of the crew!

We did this trip as part of an Insight Vacations 'Country Roads of Italy' tour. We walked through Manarola, before boarding the ferry to Monterosso. Absolutely loved Cinque Terre! Such quaint villages and amazing agricultural feats on very steeply terraced land. We returned via the train from Monterosso.

Excellent way to see 3 of the Cinque Terra villages, much better having a set timetable than risking the ferries which made for a stress free and enjoyable trip. I did check the weather before booking in view of some of the negative reviews.
The ship and crew were great, it wasn’t full which added to the enjoyment. Saw a couple celebrating 40th anniversary and crew gave them wine and reserved seating which was a lovely touch.
Instructions were clear and the commentary was significantly better and clearer than other boat trips.

Hallo Zusammen,
Vielen Dank.

Hey, we are a group of four and we are porting in La Spezia on a cruise from 7AM - 6PM according to the cruise schedule. My concern is that your tour leaves only at 10AM and it takes 8 hours. If that's the case, we would miss our return time to the ship. Do you have an earlier trip? Many Thanks
