- LennyB540 contributionsLearning to cook:Italian styleWhat a great time we had. Local food and drink, making gnocchi, having appetizers, eating too much, making new friends. Daniela was a fantastic hostess and we so enjoyed learning about her food, culture and life. Her knowledge, skill and joy made this experience very special. Can't wait to make tiramisu at home now that I know how.Written 7 December 2024

- syb4soccer0 contributionsYes! Book this class with Paola!Paola's cooking class in La Spezia Italy was fantastic! It was the best decision and one of the best excursions during our cruise. We took a taxi from the cruise port. Her home is absolutely lovely with views of the coast that are spectacular! We started with homemade focaccia bread, salami and local cheese. She even brought out homemade pesto! We made our own home made pasta and sauces. I had only made pasta once before and wow, it was so delicious! I am ordering a pasta maker when I get home. We made the best fruit tiramisu. It was refreshing and fabulous addition to the meal. Paola brought out home made limoncello. I am so excited to try to make this at home!! We absolutely adored Paola and her husband, who was able to join us for lunch on the patio. They made us feel at home and like we were their friends. Don't hesitate to book this through Viator. One thing I would add is to ask them to call a taxi to pick you up and take you back to the cruise port. It worked out perfectly.Written 14 September 2024
- Thomas T0 contributionsRoberta & Ricardo are lovely, welcoming hosts. Roberta's cooking is divine - especially her lasagna.Roberta & Ricardo are lovely, welcoming hosts. Roberta's cooking is divine. She patiently answered our many questions - and she customized for preferences in our group. Her lasagna is perhaps the best thing we've eaten after a week in Italy. One minor consideration: their beautiful home is a little outside of La Spezia and taxis can be tricky. Highly recommend dining with Cesarine!Written 24 August 2024

- AubFans0 contributionsWarm, inviting, lovely Italian familyThis was a highlight of our recent trip to Europe! Anna and her mother were tremendously welcoming. When you envision a warm Italian family welcoming you with homemade food and wine and with open arms, these are the people you are expecting and they did not disappoint. This was our first time booking a cooking excursion but will certainly not be the last. I highly recommend this tour! The address Anna provided was shown on the outside of a home, down a hill from her house. The taxi driver took us past it and we had to ask him to backup, so just be on the lookout for the number she provides and you will be fine. She met us there with her car to take our group in two trips up the hill to her actual home. Also, when we were finished we were having difficulty getting a taxi due to the high number of travelers in town that day, so Anna called her two sons who took our party of 5 back to the port without issue. That was totally unexpected, but so hospitable. If you are on the fence about this tour, just book, you will have a lovely time and walk away feeling like family! Since returning home I have already ordered the pasta maker we used in Anna's home to start making our own pasta in the States! Clint, Lindsay & SavannahWritten 8 July 2024
- Emily Claire C0 contributionsExceptional culinary experience in La SpeziaPaola was an absolutely wonderful instructor and gracious host. She was so kind to open up her home to us for a few hours as we learned how to make delicious pasta and tiramisu. Their home is lovely and has a gorgeous view of the town, so that was the cherry on top! This was the highlight of our visit to Italy. We felt we had a very genuine experience that allowed us to truly feel connected to the culture. We are so grateful to have booked this class and 100% would recommend this to anyone seeking a unique, personalized activity to include in their family trips.Written 28 May 2024
- JakeL8510 contributionsTop notch cooking experienceWe took the pesto and pasta cooking class hosted by the fabulous Paola and Massimo, and it was a blast! From the start, their warmth and charm made us feel right at home. Paola's passion for pesto and Massimo's pasta wizardry had us kneading, rolling, and laughing the whole time. By the end, our homemade pasta and pesto were restaurant-worthy. If you're thinking about taking this class, stop thinking and just do it! Paola and Massimo are the dynamic duo you need in your life for a top-notch, fun, and delicious experience. Mangia!Written 16 May 2024
- howardcP2366RA0 contributionsPaola taught us to make Tiramisu, Tagliatelle, Ravioli and Pesto. Gluten free accommodations if needed. Our family of 4 had a delightful morning with Paola learning to make Ravioli, Tagliatelle, Pesto and Tiramisu in her home near La Spezia. She is a patient and wonderful teacher. Massimo and Paola are warm and kind. They made us feel like family. The food was absolutely delicious. I emailed Paola that two of use were gluten free. I didn't want her to be offended that two of us would not be eating the food. She surprised us with gluten free pasta to eat with the pesto. She also made sure the Tiramisu was made gluten free. My son was so grateful to be able to not only participate in the cooking experience but also share in tasting the food we prepared. We left with a warm heart and a full belly. We will definitely make these recipes at home. If you are in the center of La Spezia, it is a 15 minute cab ride. Massimo drove us back. We really appreciate the ride. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Definitely book this experience. paola michelipm at libero dot itWritten 27 March 2024
- mimiw5380 contributionsExceptional experience for a solo travellerThis was an exceptional experience I had as a solo traveller. Daniela warmly welcomed me into her home and I learned that the cooking experience would be private. Whether it is for one person, or several, as the previous reviews indicate, Daniela and her husband are wonderful hosts. The overall experience of time spent with Daniela, and learning how to make sgabei, gnocchi with fresh pesto (picking basil from her garden), and whipping up a delicious tiramisu in a matter of minutes, was the highlight of my trip. I cannot recommend this experience enough. The food, using simple and local ingredients, is incredibly delicious. The conversation was wonderful, even as I tried speaking with my broken Italian. Using the preferred WhatsApp, Daniela shared her recipes in English so that I could replicate these at home. At the end of the session, Daniela and Gianni ensured that I was safely on my way to my next destination. If you are in La Spezia and looking for a very memorable experience, look no further than a cooking session with Daniela. You, too, will rave about it. Grazie Daniela e Gianni! - P2167PYemilys0 contributionsA true taste of local Italian Culture and KindnessThis experience was one of a kind. I was looking for something to do to truly capture the culture and essence of Italy while I was visiting on my first ever Europe trip and I came across Daniela's page on Cesarine. Daniela, her husband, and then entire experience, completely surpassed my expectations and I will truly carry the memories forever! Daniela has a passion for cooking and for hosting others and her kindness, radiance, and authenticity was truly a gift. Her cooking and the dishes we made were incredible and the conversations, laughter, and joy that was shared was so pure! Her and her husband shared some of their favorite stories, places to visit in the area, and even their favorite local liquor and desert chocolates! After our session Daniela insisted that we travel to see Porto Venere as it was one of her and her husbands favorite spots - so she drove us to get a bus ticket (which she paid for since we did not have cash) and then to the bus stop where she waited in the rain with us till we boarded the bus. That is true kindness and Stefan and I will forever be grateful that we go to experience that spot in Italy - it was magical. All in all, I cannot speak highly enough about this experience and I will recommend this to anyone and everyone who visits the costal region of Italy! Stefan and I can't wait to make these dishes together again on our date nights and we certainly look forward to seeing Daniela and her husband again when we go back to Italy!Written 25 October 2023
- bradbP6791XK0 contributionsGreat host in every sense of the wordDaniela and her husband were gracious and informative hosts. It is obvious that they both enjoy welcoming guests and sharing their culture. Daniela's instructions were clear and easy to follow. As much as we enjoyed cooking and eating together, we really enjoyed the conversation. We left with our stomachs and souls full. We will use the recipes frequently when back home.Written 1 October 2023

Hello, I would love too do the workshop pizza and tiramisu making at your place. Only I had a question I am allergic to peanut and nuts. Is it possible too do the workshop without any of peanut or nuts ?
Greetings, Josè Beijering
