Bologna Food Experience: Factory Visits with Gourmet Lunch and Wine Tasting
From USD 194.02
Overview
Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region is a food lover’s dream, and this full-day tour from Bologna shows you how the area produces its specialties, including Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Modena balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto. Of course, you’ll also enjoy some delicious tastings, as well as breakfast and lunch with wine pairings. For this immersive experience, you’ll travel hassle-free in a comfy minivan with various pickup options including your hotel.
What to Expect
After hotel, station, or airport pickup in Bologna, visit a factory that makes Emilia-Romagna’s unique Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Enjoy the rare opportunity to see the entire process, from the early-morning milk delivery and work of master cheesemakers to the storage and aging.
Savor a breakfast with cheese tastings and Lambrusco wine, and perhaps purchase some cheese at below retail price.
Next, visit a family-run business producing Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena D.O.P. See the age-old techniques and enjoy a full tasting, comparing a 6-year-old balsamic with 12- and 25-year-old varieties.
Continue to a prosciutto producer to see how this regional delicacy is made, and sample fresh slices of prosciutto di Modena D.O.P with Lambrusco wine.
Finally, enjoy a gourmet lunch with wine at a countryside trattoria or organic winery before drop-off at the departure point.

Amazingly perfect

Enjoyed the whole day! Superb guide, delicious food (all the day, never-ending) and nice people. What else you need? :) Apart from that you'll get to know so many interesting details about the production of those products. Really amazing!

If you are at all interested in food, this day-long adventure is a dream come true.

A friend of ours had recommended this tour. We did not realize how very special it would turn out to be. Extremely well-organized, we were picked up exactly on schedule, and proceeded to see Parmesan cheese being made from cow to finished product, Balsamic vinegar...More

I had the same experience as well, so I had my hotel booked it for me. Coincidentally a party of 4 had a dropout, so they let me.
