    Very Interesting Tour
A great tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill, with a very knowledgeable guide, Arnjo. It was interesting and our guide made it all easy to understand. Time flew by, and I would thoroughly recommend this tour - it was terrific. What I would say is, this tour isn’t suitable for people who have walking difficulties. The Colosseum itself has an elevator to help people, but the remainder of the tour has a lot of tricky terrain to walk over and hilly in parts. Please also remember photo identification for access to the Colosseum.

    City walkers are fantastic
This was one of the highlights of our stay in Rome. My sister and I are ‘more mature’ and our tour guide was fantastic with us making sure we were managing stairs and waiting for us when we were a bit slow. City Walkers were brilliant can’t recommend them enough. Thank you

Group tour not worth the spend.
The accent made it difficult to understand the guide. If the tour covered history, I missed it. Either purchase a private tour or buy tickets with the audio guide. 2 thumbs down on the group tour.

    Jag känner mig lurad
Review of “The Walker Tours” My wife and I had a deeply disappointing experience with The Walker Tours. We booked tickets to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, paying an outrageous €78 per person (€156 total) for tickets and an audio guide. However, this turned out to be an absolute scam. Lack of Clear Instructions The confirmation email asked us to arrive early but failed to provide a specific location. This is a critical omission given the enormous crowds of pilgrims and tourists around the Basilica. We spent over 30 minutes in line, entered the Basilica, and—shockingly—discovered that no one checks tickets because the entrance is free! Misleading Practices After realizing this, I tried to use the so-called “audioguide” service included in the ticket price. The email stated that the tickets and audioguides would be provided at the meeting point, but no staff from Walker Tours was present, and no one at the Basilica recognized the company or their tickets. I even went to the official audioguide distribution point at the Basilica, but the staff there were unable to assist me because they had no knowledge of Walker Tours. Unresponsive Customer Service I called their office multiple times for help, but no one picked up. When I later contacted them via email to request a refund, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. They claimed that I should have gone to the meeting point (which they failed to specify in any meaningful way). They also hid behind their “no refunds” policy, which customers are forced to accept when purchasing tickets. Insulting Justifications To add insult to injury, they claimed that “perhaps some days the monuments have free entry.” As a tour company selling tickets, shouldn’t they know this beforehand? This is outright deception. Conclusion I feel completely scammed. The Walker Tours charged €156 for something that is entirely free and failed to deliver the promised service. Their lack of transparency, accountability, and customer support is appalling. I will never use their services again and strongly urge others to avoid this company. Their practices are misleading and exploitative. Rating: 1/5 (only because 0 isn’t an option)

Informative and humorous to her of the Colosseum
Our guide David was excellent. He kept things light and humorous, gave us interesting information, but did not go so deep as to become overwhelming. I recommend this tour if you’d like a fairly quick but insightful look into the history of the Colosseum and Roman in general.

    Fantastic tour and tour guide!
Incredible tour!!! I loved loved our tour guide. She was so knowledgeable, funny, passionate about history, and even gave us her grandmothers lasagna recipe at the end of the tour as a keepsake! 🥰 it was the best to get the historical context but also have time for pictures and some fun facts! Would highly recommend!

    Rome walking tour
The tour was good and ok. Guide spoke good english and she knew the history or the place. Views were amazing! Loved seeing all the dark tunnels. Gorgous sunshine all day beating down on us. There was things that i didn't know. If i am do this tour again i think i would ask them if the guide would tell us their own stories of what happened there. 8/10 thank you loved my visit to the Colossero.

Guided Tour of Colosseum, Palantine Hill, and the Forum
This was a great tour. We got to go onto the floor of the colosseum in addition to the spectator areas. Then onto Palantine Hill and the Forum. It was a lot of walking, but very well worth it. Our tour guide Fe was very engaging, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. This was a perfect way to see this historic area. We highly recommend this tour and Fe as a tour guide!

David - you are a STAR! Absolutely brilliant.
Best guide we’ve ever had - and we’ve done a lot of tours in a lot of places!

I can lose interest on long tours, especially if lots of historical facts and dates just get reeled off. But right from the start, David’s story-telling and way of engaging the whole group kept me interested and laughing the whole time.

The Colosseum is an absolute must-see, of course, and I would say a guided tour is well worth it. But if you can get David as your guide then you’ve hit the jackpot!

I really don't think it's possible to do a Colosseum trip on your own without doing a skip-the-line tour. We went in the offseason and even then the regular lines were out of control long. We went with this tour and skipped every single line with literally zero waiting around, it was incredible. We covered A LOT of area pretty quickly, which was great because it condensed a lot in very little time. Our tour guide Elisabetta was extremely knowledgeable and funny, who had a great rapport with the entire Colosseum staff. Our group was very small and Elisabetta got us swiftly through the lines, and provided unique and expert insight on everything we saw. I can't more highly recommend using this service!

A tour is only as good as the guide. We did two tours with David Battaglino (Colosseum and Pantheon). These were stunning historical sites brought to life by our formidable guide, David. David was educational, entertaining, funny, and no nonsense. His ability to guide us through a crowd and make space for us to enjoy and take pictures was masterful. David also recommended places to eat and visit and avoid in Rome...and every recommendation was spot on. Our young son Hugo said, "That if all the guides in the world had a competition, that David would beat them all!"

The Colosseum and Palatine hill are a jaw dropping example of ancient Roman history. You see a lot in the Palatine hill part as well taking in tour of the palace ruins etc. We had a very knowledgeable local guide who explained a lot of the historical background and brought to life how the colosseum was constructed. I’d recommend this tour to people wanting to take the time to understand some detailed background

Not only were the views spectacular, but our seasoned guide explained the evolution of the place during the many periods of history. It had many illustrations of the state of play at different times. She also honored the real story by highlighting the many clichés of the films of yesterday and today that did not respect the reality of the time. Thank you for this privileged return to reality!

Davide was a great guide, expertly steering us through the crowds, and ensuring we got the best vantage points by various cunning strategies. He is hugely knowledgeable and kept out attention throughout with fascinating descriptions and colourful stories on every aspect of the Colliseum. We highly recommend him.

Great tour,amazing experience!

We didn't wait a long time at the entrance, the guide was good,he had a really good knowledge of the history of Rome and the sites he showed us. He communicated really good, we could hear and understand everything he was saying.

They included the arena in the tour as well, which was really amazing to see.

The Colosseum,Palatin hill,Roman forum and all the sites and escavations in between were really amazing.

It is a long tour, more than 3 hours including the entrance time, security checks and breaks in between, but worth it. 👌

I only wish we could have had more time to explore the colosseum and visit the souvenir shop, but with all the tourists it may be not possible to see everything.

Overall very pleased with the whole tour, highly recommended.

Thank you City walkers!

First time visiting Rome together and decided to book a guided tour of the famous Colosseum on our first day. We were given a radio which was handy as it was quite loud at points so hard to hear our guide. We started with the Colosseum, through the Palantine Hill & finished at the Roman Forum. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us intrigued the whole way round! (Roughly 3hrs). Would highly recommend to anyone interested in some sight seeing and wants to skip ahead of the standard un guided/queuing method.

Allessandra was and INCREDIBLE guide. She was so passionate about her city (Rome) and it was truly obvious how much she cared about the rich history that she was teaching us about. She kept us on schedule and made sure we hit every check point along the way but also covered the history in immense detail. Best tour and guide we’ve had. The tour was very packed with people as expected but we were given enough time to see the sites and take it all in. Alessandra also gave us a printed recipe for lasagna from her 96 year old Nonna Maria and it was just the personal touch at the end that was the icing on the cake. Thank you Alessandra!
