Perfect tour for busy schedules and history lovers!
This tour was perfect for what our group wanted to do. Our tour guide Rita was fantastic, she was able to provide insights and information that enhanced the whole experience. Despite the extremely hot weather, Rita found opportunities for shade/water/rest whilst also providing in depth information about the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. The skip the line was extremely helpful and I would recommend this to anyone who is travelling during peak travel season like us. If you are not sure whether a tour is worth your money it 100% is. The insights we gained could not have been achieved by simply viewing the sights yourself.

Great way to see the city
We did research before booking as there are many different providers, I would advise looking at TripAdvisor reviews as this helped us decide who to go with and definitely worth booking before you go. There were 8 stops on this tour, the bus stops were easy to find and the buses were very regular. The audio on board (you are given free headphones) was very good & really interesting as you passed the places of interest. Be aware at the stops there are multiple street sellers trying to get you to buy all kinds including cold bottles of water that are half the price at the shops nearby. Good activity worth doing.

Worth it, even in the insane July heat
Maria was our guide today. She was great. Very knowledgeable, attentive to us, and cared to make sure we kept hydrated and didn't slip on any of the stairs or cobble stones.

    Extraordinary guide
It was a very nice tour. The guide was very enthousiastic and explained everything very well. She was very concerned about us and told us where we could refill our waterbottles. Also it was very interactive and a few people got a role. Beautiful views from the palatine hill. To our opinion the tour was a bit to long but it was mainly due to the weather (37 degrees Celsius).

    Worth every penny
Fantastic tour of the city took in all the sites, wish we had done this earlier in our stay to give us an idea of where everything was

    It was ok.
We paid extra for the small group 10 or less tour and were just thrown in with a large 20 plus group of people. Wasn’t too impressed with that move. The smaller the group the better because it seems us Americans like to ask a lot of dumb questions and segue into talking about ourselves instead of listening to the guide. The guide was outstanding. Daniel I believe, super knowledgeable, Im guessing he’s a history teacher also. Fascinating account of the ruins and Roman history and so much better than the self guided tour I’ve done before. I will admit that after complaining about the tour mix up at the start I was emailed a partial refund within minutes.

Thank you Gray-line I Love Rome and Gate 1 Travel
We had the pleasure of walking with and being toured by Roberta at the Vatican using Gate 1, Gray line- I Love Rome. From the beginning she was courteous, informative, and knowledgeable. She was conscientious of all of us and our abilities to walk the long distances or up stairs. She accommodated some people when needed. We were able to exit through areas the public could not. This was definitely worth the walk, the listening, and the money. I would do this again for sure.

The best tour guide in Rome - Rita
Rita was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Rita ensured we followed guidance regarding pictures and clothing. She made jokes, encouraged us to ask questions (even if they seemed silly) and allowed time for pictures. Rita gave perspective when discussing the size of St Peter’s or time reference. I would definitely recommend Rita as a guide for any tour.

Great way to see some of the sights and learn new things but a lot of waiting and queuing and a complicated system
👍The commentary was great and so interesting! and the free headphones are great 👍 It stayed nice and cool on the bus even though it was really hot outside. 👍You get great views of the city and get to see lots of interesting places you probably wouldn’t think to visit 👍 reasonable price 👎The paper tickets were a bit of faff and quite a confusing system. 👎The buses get very busy and don’t come very often so you sometimes have to wait up to 30 mins and long queues Tips: • Personally I would recommend taking the metro instead it’s much cheaper and quicker • The €15 ticket doesn’t cover the hop on hop off tour it only includes one trip around the city. So if you get off the bus, you need to buy an additional add-on, but this is only three euros extra and then you can get on and off 3 times. •we noticed many of the other bus tours had more regular buses- such as ‘big bus’ and ‘city sightseeing’ however I’m not sure how they compared in price

A must do tour in Rome
Highly recommend this tour to get an overview of the key Roman sites in Rome. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Tour was well planned and covered all of the highlights. Group was small enough to get personal attention and ask questions.

    Do it. It's worth it
Barbie, our tour guide was great. With the Colosseum in particular Barbie was able to provide some fascinating historical information. The tour group was easy to find on the day. If you go during summer be sure to take water and an umbrella.

It was a nice day and our guide was terrific! It could have been two to three hours shorter. We finished touring by two in the afternoon and had to wait around for three hours.
