- Jennifer M0 contributionsWhat could be more Roman than a Vespa?Quintessential Roma! There is no better way to see the eternal city than with a Vespa Sidecar Tour. We booked an afternoon tour for 10 in May 2024 which included kids (ages 17,16,15,12, & 10). It was one of the highlights of our 3 week European tour. Our guide, Matteo, was animated, informative and charming. He and his great team of drivers cleared crowds so we could have great pictures and really gave us first class service. The headsets worked fantastic and we heard non-stop information even when driving. You’ll feel like a celebrity waving and saying “ciao!” to the crowds taking pictures of your line of Vespas. It’s hilarious! It was so great, that when we came back to Rome in December 2024 for a pilgrimage with our church, we convinced everyone to book an evening tour. Our group of 20 (divided into 2 groups) loved it!!! We had 10 kids ranging from 9 years old to college age. We also had some really tall people (up to 6’5”) who fit on the back of the Vespa just fine. We were fortunate to have Luca, the owner, as our guide this time. You can tell he has a passion for his business and for Roma. We loved him! We booked the new pizza tasting add-on this time not knowing what to expect. Wow! They blew us away! The restaurant was up-scale and the staff of Vincenzo’s (same name as my son) were gracious and funny. It wasn’t a tasting, it was a meal with vino included! If you want to be the hero of your group/family/relationship, book this tour! Our priest is now including the tour for future pilgrimage groups! It is worth every Euro!Written 9 January 2025
- L8357MSmiar0 contributionsBEST THING YOU COULD DOWORTH EVERY PENNY!!! I went with my large family (group of 9) and they kept us all together and accommodated every need. They provided jackets, blankets, and even hand warmers. Along with several views in passing, we stopped and went inside a couple places as well. Gelato place was amazing! The tour guide was the sweetest ever, and we all felt so safe the whole time! DO THIS YOU WONT REGRET IT!!Written 8 January 2025
- Explorer337862524500 contributionsFantastic Christmas tour with MatteoWe had a fantastic tour with Matteo! We loved getting to see Rome at night with all of the beautiful Christmas decorations up and learn about the city from someone who's very passionate about the history. The pizzeria was fantastic with a beautiful interior and amazingly delicious pizzas! We thought it was so cool to tour the city from such a unique vantage point! We would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested.Written 7 January 2025

- 137hollyk0 contributionsBest time of your lifeThis was BY FAR the funnest event we did in Rome and we did everything. If you have kids, teenagers, adventurous people-this is an absolute must. You see absolutely everything in Rome from all sorts of views across the city. We had great pizza and loved hanging out with the group and meeting people over dinner. They even dropped us off near hotel so we did not have to walk so far.Written 3 January 2025

The tour drivers were professional and accommodating, there were several drops and pace of tour was good. My two teens loved the sidecart with blanket and warm bottle. We had an adventure of a lifetime. Highly recommend this tour in the evening as Rome is beautiful at night and roads less congested with cars or pedestrians. So fun!Written 30 December 2024

Infact it far exceeded expectations. Luca and his team know whag they are doing & they make it fun! We had an immersive Roman experience with the Pantheon, Trevi and Colleseum being the highlights…. Manuel who drive us around was super cute and attentive! He ensured we were comfortable at all times ( including blanket for the sidecar) and took amazing pictures for us!! Rate this 10/10!!Written 23 December 2024
- mpollo770 contributionsRome for the holidaysGetting to tour Rome by Vespa at night was really a treat! Matteo was an excellent tour guide and driver. He is very knowledgeable about the city and it's amazing history and he was able to explain it all in great detail while navigating some pretty crazy streets! Seeing the city all decorated for the holidays just added to the charm of this already beautiful city. The stop for dinner was an added highlight and the pizza was amazing tasty. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.Written 18 December 2024
- K6939ZLisabellac0 contributionsBEST VESPA TOUR!Absolutely incredible Vespa Tour! 5* service! The tour guide, and drivers were very knowledgeable and felt very safe. Travelled in December so it was a little bit chilly, but the drivers carry around blankets & hot water bottles if needed! The pizza stop was an added benefit and the food was tasty with traditional Italian dishes. Best pizza I had in Rome!! Thank you so much and we will be back!Written 16 December 2024

This is a Roman Holiday come true! If you come to Rome riding a Vespa is a bucket list must, but driving in Rome is definitely challenging, what with the cobblestone streets, small windy roads, and crazy traffic. Enter the sidecar tour: you get to tour around all of Rome in snazzy, sparkling clean vespas with SIDECARS!! The tour is an amazing way to see many of Rome’s top attractions without the hassle of having to navigate by yourself and you are provided headphones during the ride so you can hear Luca share stories and interesting facts about all of the places you’re passing as you travel in style. It really was like a private small group tour of Rome. It’s like being a celebrity when you zoom past pedestrians; people wave and take your picture because the sidecars are so eye-catching. Although Roman traffic is hectic and can be quite scary (we had a taxi driver narrowly miss sideswiping another car on another day of our trip), the Vespa drivers were extremely safe and I never once felt in danger as we drove. We were provided helmets with 1 time use caps so they’d stay clean (+1 for hygiene) and the sidecars all had seatbelts. It was a little windy in the morning since we were there in October, but one of the drivers whipped out a blanket from the sidecar so it was super cozy. ☺️We were in Italy for a destination wedding so we really only had limited time in Rome; this tour was an amazing way to see sights we definitely wouldn’t have had time to make it to on our own. You may bookmark a million places on your itinerary, but how many places can you realistically get to by yourself when you add in navigation time, transport time, stopping for snacks 😅, etc. This tour takes you on a highlights tour all over Rome. We definitely went way over the advertised tour duration time too, so it was amazing value for money! They even provided breakfast a bit after the tour began; coffee and a pastry at a little coffee shop for the full Italian breakfast experience. The drivers and Luca went out of their way to help us take amazing photos and we lucked out with perfect weather that day so the entire tour was incredible! Easily one of the best, if not THE best parts of our entire trip to Italy. Can’t recommend this tour enough! A million stars out of ten, would tour again!

So, you've arrived in the Eternal City and you want to see the sights and, like most other people, you book a walking tour.
Error.
After several hours you've not only worn down the shoe leather but also your will to live. Not as fit as you once were, the dodgy hip starts to ache as you struggle to keep up with the guide, let alone hear what they say. And when you do, your eyes glaze over with a deluge of dates and facts. And after a few months it all fades into a distant memory.
But not any more, now there is a new guy on the block.
We met up in Repubblica at 0900 for the VespaSidecarTour .com as a party of six, in Rome for the Six Nations Rugby match Italy v Scotland. We were joined by two other couples, coincidentally visiting for the rugby as well.
Luca and his team were all very smart and welcoming, the helmets (with visors) were pristine and the machines gleaming, obviously cleaned daily.
Hairnets were issued to maintain the hygiene of the helmets (excellent touch), along with radio receivers and earphones to hear Luca's informative and humorous commentary throughout the journey.
I won't list the itinerary here, go to their web site (see above) for full details.
The tour takes you far and wide visiting many attractions and some you probably wouldn't get to see, particularly if you were plodding around on foot.
Highlights include cappuccino and cornetto (croissant) near the Pantheon, Luca videoing you as you make a wish at the Trevi fountain, watching the midday gun fired from Rome's highest point, a selfie with Garibaldi, and lots of tourists videoing you, makin you feel like celebrities as you cruise by on the differently coloured machines!
The drivers are excellent, confidently navigating the traffic on the main roads through the city centre as well as the narrow lanes of Trastevere, no nervous feelings at all.
A big thank you to Luca and his crew for a terrific experience and to Caterina for the excellent communications.
This is one tour that won't fade into a distant memory!
Tips - firstly, book direct through their web site, you will pay in euros not sterling, much cheaper. Secondly, the restaurants in the city centre can be very expensive; instead, head south-west over the river to the district of Trastevere. It is a labyrinth of narrow lanes with dozens of great little restaurants and bars, most of which are much more reasonably priced and very welcoming.
Ciao!

This was the best tour by far. From the moment we met our tour guide Luca we knew we were in for a fun ride. The vespa side car is extremely comfortable and felt very safe and warm as Luca had blankets and hot water bottles waiting. Thankfully we had glorious weather and our trip around Rome and all its attractions was spectacular with lots of historic information and funny theories from Luca. He was very patient as we got off at the trevi fountain. The Spanish steps, vatican city, the collesseum to name but a few. Luca also took us to a very beautiful scenic part of Rome where you can look over Rome in all its beauty and glory and he also took some beautiful photos of us. Luca gave us some great tips about where to eat and at the end of our tour brought us to a wonderful food market with every type of food culture one could imagine. We had the most wonderful time exploring Rome on a vespa and side cart with the very knowledgeable Luca as our guide, we have already been recommending to our friends and family and also discussing a return trip ourselves. This tour will not disappoint if I could rate 100 stars I would 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 thank you again Luca and vespa sidecar rental Ciao, jacqueline & Gary 👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🌟🌟🌟😎

If I could give more than 5 stars then this tour would deserve a higher rating. Although we tried to book in advance there was no availability for a regular tour so we decided to book a private tour. The staff were amazing, on time, well organised, informative, professional and charming . Little touches such as a blanket and a hot water bottle were available for the sidecar rider. We were given an ear piece with a radio so we could hear the amazing commentary of Sergio , our guide, whilst we drove through the streets of Rome. Sergio was charming with an exceptional knowledge of the history and buildings of Rome. We had a wonderful tour of the Pantheon, a lovely breakfast of cappuccino and a croissant ( the pistachio filling was excellent) and visited the Trevi Fountain where Sergio gave us each a coin to throw into the water. We passed by many of the landmarks in the City learning from Sergio as we went along. The drivers were so thoughtful, we were unable to visit St Peter’s Square as the road was closed ( Palm Sunday) so as a surprise they took us up to Gianicolo Hill to witness the cannon being fired at midday. One of the drivers even parked a car for a nun who was having difficulty reversing into a garage!
This really is a five star experience, it was the highlight of our trip and as such I would highly recommend experiencing the sites of Rome in a Vespa Sidecar.

By far one of the most fun and unique experiences touring this beautiful city was with Luca in the sidecar! We hit all of the best Roman sites and it was an absolute pleasure spending the day with Luca, a friendly Roman native. This is great (and inexpensive) way to see the city, especially if you don't have a lot of time and want to see as much as possible. Highly recommended and will be booking again.

I visited Rome several times before but Lucca, from Vespa with Sidecar provided us with the most memorable experience of our family life. He showed and make us see Rome trough the eyes of a local, told us incredible and funny anecdotes engaging not only us, but our 9 and 14 year old kids with his tales of the city for 5 hours. Throughout the journey he weaved the stories of Rome history with all the sites we were visiting. The safety protocols were all met, disinfections of the vehicles, helmets, even portable disinfectant sprays on the back of the bikes. Although Rome was just upgraded to Yellow COVID zone and we had to wear masks and keep our distance he provided such an engaging tour that he made us forget for 5 hours we were still in the middle of the pandemic. The cappuccino and cornetto were scrumptious and delicious and the gallery were we drank it was a piece of art in itself. We finished the tour in the Colosseum and he personally called a family restaurant to book us a late lunch that was memorable as well. Thank you Lucca for an amazing experience our family will always remember!

The Vespa sidecar tour is a very relaxing way of discovering Rome. The tour covers a lot of ground but you almost wouldn’t notice because you’re cruising along on such a calm pace. The very funny guide, Luca, has lots of interesting stories to tell and he knows how to take a picture or two. His live commentary on the parking techniques of the locals is a great addition to the tour. The Vespas are a sight to be seen themselves and the guys are very sweet with small children too.

Luca was amazing! I booked a 2-hour tour of Rome as a surprise for my friend's birthday - and Luca created an exceptional itinerary for us. He planned a beautiful tour of Rome, where he showed us many of the historic and panoramic sites of the Eternal City. Not to mention, Luca is an excellent photographer!! So he captured many great moments and memories on camera!! This was definitely one of our best memories of Rome - and we're so thankful that we were able to enjoy all sites that Rome has to offer in this unique, and exhilarating way. Thank you Luca! The experience was 10/10 and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Rome!

My friend and I just returned home from our sidecar tour with Luca and his team and still have not stopped smiling! We had an amazing morning on our tour of the city, filled with laughter and high quality photos (with the help of our very experienced, professional, humorous guide). Luca told jokes through his headset to our receivers as we jetted all around the neighborhoods of Rome for a 3.5 hour tour, ending with a delicious lunch recommendation. We cannot thank you enough!!! Grazie!

The Vespa Sidecar tour was the highlight of our trip to Rome! Luca was an amazingly knowledgeable and personable guide and he tailored the tour to exactly what we wanted to see. We did the tour on the afternoon of our second day so he focused on the things we hadn’t yet seen. It was a perfect introduction for our kids (ages 13,12,9) to Rome and all its wonders. Luca was incredibly flexible working around an unexpected Mass at the Pantheon, he brought us back later to make sure we could go inside. We were like rock stars as all of the Italians loved the Vespa sidecars and they took our pictures constantly - especially when they lined up the Vespas in the colors of the Italian flag at stop lights. It made for an unforgettable afternoon in Rome that was well worth the investment. Many thanks to Luca and his team!

Hi,
Will the Vespa Sidecar Tour in Rome with Cappuccino or Highlights of Rome Vespa Sidecar Tour in the Afternoon with Gourmet Gelato stop available in August 2023?
Written 18 July 2023
Yes, there's quiet a few stops where you can go to the toilet (breakfast and the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain etc).
With there not being a lot of public toilet facilities around go into a café, buy a drink and ask to use their toilets. It's the quickest and easiest way to find toilets in Rome :)
Just let the guides know and they will happily help you out.

Can two people plus driver be on one Vespa with sidecar?
Written 7 June 2022
Yes, one person can sit behind the driver the other in the side car. They allow the two people to switch places so each person gets a chance to ride on the cycle or sidecar. It is completely safe and loads of fun. I highly recommend! The drivers and tour guide are great!

If I book for two people, do we both get to ride on different vespas in the sidecar or will we be on the same vespa one in the sidecar and one on the back of the motorcycle?
Written 25 January 2022
Usually, couples share the same vespa, but with the amount of stops made, couples will switch (riding in the sidecar & riding on the vespa with a driver) so you both have ample opportunities to be in the sidecar.
