On Wednesdays departure there is the possibility that you will be unable to include St Peter’s Basilica. This is due to the weekly Papal Audience during which access to St. Peter’s Basilica could be closed. As an alternative you will be offered an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums, which still includes the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael’s Rooms. It is important that you come to the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to departure time. We are unable to accommodate other entrance times. Anyone who arrives late cannot be accommodated. We cannot predict when individual museums will be crowded. In general, long lines are common at major attractions in summer, on most weekends and during peak travel periods throughout the year (Christmas, Easter and local holidays). Our skip the line tickets enables you to skip the line indeed if there is one. Unfortunately there is no way to foresee which days and times will produce lines and which will not. On rare occasions Saint Peter’s Basilica closes without notice. When this happens, we will spend 3 hours touring the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. The tour guides aim to notify the guests if St. Peter’s Basilica unexpectedly closes upon commencement of the tour. It is beyond our control therefore no refunds or discounts will be issued.
Please be informed that the Vatican Museums provide wheelchair free of charge in the main lobby. You can easily pick one up upon entering, before starting your own independent visit.
Please note also that - the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica maintains a strict dress code year-round. All visitors must have their shoulders covered and pants/skirts must come to the knee. Please wear comfortable shoes.
If you are looking for a tour with wheelchair access you can choose our private wheelchair accessible tour so our guide can lead you through an alternate route.
Backpacks, tripods and big umbrellas must be left inside the cloakroom upon entering Vatican Museum. To reduce any disruption for your group, we recommend that backpacks are not taken on this tour.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 25 travelers
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
Hard to hear guide. Was up-sold at check in. Shuffled thru the Museum’s and Sistine Chapel in very crowded circumstances without enough time to see anything in any kind of detail. Would not book if I had known what it was going to be like....More
Although it is very tiring and at times quite claustrophobic it is definitely worth the visit was you see so many wonderful things that it us impossible to put into words. Our guide was very informative and I would recommend this highly.
Do not even consider doing this tour without a guide or skip the line tickets. It is hugely interesting and you just have to do it - irrespective of religious beliefs. You have to book this beforehand rather than just rocking up on the day...More
Why is this tour on Trip Advisor. I would expect more. Upon arrival to the Vatican, we were herded a few blocks away in scorching heat...to stand in a line..... the fellow at the counter talked in circles explaining that we owed 100 euros more...More
I think there are elevators. The chapel was closed the day we were there, so I can't speak to that, but you could have a stroller in the museum. It's not going to be easy though. As the other traveler mentioned, there are... More
I think there are elevators. The chapel was closed the day we were there, so I can't speak to that, but you could have a stroller in the museum. It's not going to be easy though. As the other traveler mentioned, there are a lot of people, in addition to steps. maybe a backpack carrier would work better.
