CANCELLED LAST MINUTE! (Tour operator: Romaetravel)
We usually book our trips ahead of time so we can organize our schedule and make the most out of our short visit. RomeEtravel cancelled our booking the evening before our scheduled trip because they didn’t reach the minimum allowed guests. We are devastated because they didn’t leave us enough time to book something else and make arrangements with another tour.

Book at your own risk because this service is unreliable.

I got what I paid for
This is a transportation service only!!! There are no guides. It’s a do it your self your. So that’s what I purchased and that’s what I got.

The driver was very courteous, amicable and a very good driver. He handled a customer’s complaint professionally with no disruption. Customer wanted a guided tour. Read what you what you buy. It is not in the fine print. It is clearly stated.

That being said I give 5 stars because they were very clear with what they offered and that’s what I purchased. I would not do it again. I realized that a guide would have maximized my experience. Florence is too big to do it alone effectively.

However I would totally do it again for Piza. Just one main thing to do the tower. That worked perfectly.

Maybe the company can hire a local tour guide for Florence and maintain the Piza on your own.

Rome to Florence/Pisa 1 day
Nov. 2019 • Couples
Understand that you are not buying a tour. You are simply purchasing transportation to these 2 cities. It is a 4 hour drive each way with about 2.5 hours in Florence and 45 minutes in Pisa. Enough time to breeze through the main attractions if you hurry. Not an ideal way to see these 2 cities but if you have 1 day there is no getting around the time in the car. Our van was clean and comfortable and the driver was punctual and professional. He offered no insights to the areas we drove through just simply was a driver. A good one but unable to impart any knowledge of the region. The Cathedral and David Museum were worth it but deserving of more time. Pisa was a fun tourist trap centered around the tower. Also worth it and we were surprised by the Cathedral there which contains a magnificent sculpted pulpit. Viewing the tower and cathedral is free. Museum and Climbing tower have a fee. Have a plan when you arrive in each city to get the most out of what is essentially a expensive cab ride.

Amazing Time
May 2018 • Friends
Our tour guide Paola and driver Marco picked us up at our hotel bright and early at 7am. Right on time and off we headed to pick up rest of the tour at their hotel. Sadly they missed it however Paola did call multiple times and we waited for about 10 minutes for them. Very nice of them to wait. We took the tour on May 21st, 2018.

Off to Florence we headed in the brilliant sunshine and Paola was a weath of knowledge during our ride. Ask anything and she will find the answer If she doesn’t know it. We had about 3 hours of free time to explore this ancient city that is full of gorgeous architectural buildings and culture and the market was really enjoyable as well. Although it did start to pour an hour and half into the free time. Paola immediately called us and checked up on us to make sure we were alright in the storm. (Greatly appreciated that as we did manage to get turned around and lost and she was on her way to find us but we managed to find the meeting point first). All part of the adventure in Florence. Gorgeous City.

Ah off to Pisa we headed and unfortunately we hit some nasty nasty weather on the freeway (hail and severe thunderstorm) but Marco being the pro he is - handed it masterfully and even managed to get us to Pisa before the rain arrived. It was on my bucket list to see the leaning tour of Pisa. We had about an hour here and the market is an enjoyable way to sound some time after viewing the tower. Paola was with us making sure we were getting the pictures we desired and to make sure we were not robbed on prices in the market.

Yes the drive is long (3 hours to Florence) and (1 hour more to Pisa) and (4 hours back to Rome) but hey it’s worth it. Paola is a weath of knowledge and showed us all the cool and awesome features in Florence and Pisa. I’m very glad they were our guide and driver. They went above and beyond.

Thank you Paola and Marco!!

Not worth it
We were picked up from our hotel at 7 am and dropped back at 8.30 pm. Out of the 13.5 hours, about 8-9 hours of it was spent on the road.

Also, for the price, it really isn’t worth it as it does not include a guided tour. We were then asked to pay an extra €65/person for lunch and guided tour. The walking tour in Florence was just okay but the lunch was way too salty for our taste buds.

When we got to Pisa, the guide got out for like 10 mins, gave us information about the place and left us. Information of which I could’ve gotten on Wikipedia if I wanted. I expected someone to walk with us and pointed out things. Isn’t that what a guided tour guide is?

On the way back to Rome, the driver was really speeding to get us all the way back. I do not recommend this tour and this company.

Dear Celine, we are very sorry to read your review. About the guided tour, you asked for this, nobody forced you to take it, and it wasn't included at the beginning. It isn't an extra, it is the price for a guided tour. And also you ask about for extra info about our tours. Pisa is smaller than Florence, this is the reason why the tour is not so long. Anyway is not 1o mins as you write. One the way home our drive wasn't speeding to get you back, I think you didn't realize the real speed cause you all were sleeping. Regards Paola

It was a long drive
Mar. 2018 • Couples
We were excited to see other cities in Italy. I should have done my research before hand. We spent most the day driving around 3 hours to Florence, an hour from Florence to Pisa, and then 3-1/2 hours back to Rome. We had about 4 hours in Florence and then only 45 minutes in Pisa. It was plenty of time to get out and see the major things but our time might have been longer in each city if we would have taken the high speed train. Our driver was also going 170 km/h which equates to around 105 mph on the way home.

Hello, 3 hours by car is about the time everyone in Italy spent driving to Florence from Rome, even our drivers. You spent more time in Florence cause it is a bigger city than Pisa, and there are more things to see there than Pisa. 170 km/h is regular on the highway in Italy, especially if you dont want to spend more than 3 hours in the car as you wrote. Regards
