Outstanding street food tour of Trastevere
Sep. 2021 • Couples
Rome is an incredible city for the gastronomically inclined. Tonight we enjoyed an amazing street food tour of the Trastevere area, Rome's artsy neighborhood with Matteo, a superb guide.
We started by discovering the high quality and tasty street water from the many fountains around town. We moved onto the Roman specialty called Suppli, which are fried rice balls coated with breadcrumbs, said to have originated in Sicily in the 10th century. Next stop was a traditional norcineria store where we had the tastiest porchetta and cheese (aged Parmesan and Pecorino Romano, one of Italy's oldest cheeses). After briefly stopping at the Basilica di Santa Mari, one of the oldest Christian Churches, we moved onto a traditional pizzeria, La Renella, where we each had three slices of traditional Roman pizza. Two dessert stops, for the freshest Canaloni at Bar Latteria, and the most amazing Gelato at Gunther, completed our food tour.

Enjoyable tour
A good street walking food tour with more focus on history than food.

The guide who was a local roman took on walking tour on the beautiful area of Trastevere.

We also had some local bites including cheese n porchetta, tasty Roman pizza slices n gelato which included in the price.

Great food, great guide
Sep. 2020
Great tour with an engaging and interesting guide. Clearly really knew the area and had a genuine interest in both the history and food of the tour; gave us lots of information about the local food we have been able to use throughout the holiday. Well worth your time.

Food was, of course, absolutely delicious (but what do you expect in Rome?)

Fantastic tour and great food
Sep. 2020 • Couples
We had a fantastic tour with Emanuele. He was very friendly, funny and informative. The tour included a lot of the history of the area which was really interesting as we walked to each food stop. All of the food we ate was amazing - supplì (rice balls), cheeses and meats at the butchers, pizza, cannoli and gelato.

Would recommend this to anyone looking for a taste of Rome!

Trastevere Food Tour
Dec. 2019 • Family
Matteo was great! We learned a lot of
things we didn’t know about Trastevere. We liked the history part, recommendations, and of course the yummy food! We definitely will try the suppli again! Matteo was engaging, answered all our questions and was very professional. Would definitely recommend this tour to others! Hope you get Matteo as well!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - cannot say enough good things about this tour
Apr. 2018 • Couples
First off, I need to give a huge shout out to Rosy, who went above and beyond to accommodate my group. We accidentally got the date mixed up and missed our food tour. We were disappointed when we realized what happened, but when we reached back out to Rosy, she was able to find us a new tour guide on a different day. We are so grateful that she went above and beyond to find us a new tour in the short amount of time we were in Rome.

Now, onto the tour itself. Our tour guide Claudia was amazing. She was super knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. She brought us around the Trastevere area where we tried food from 5 different places. The tour lasted about 3 hours and we went to a pastry shop, cheese shop, pizza place, rice ball shop, and finished with gelato. She also brought us into a small shop where we tried some limoncello that we enjoyed so much we bought a bottle on the spot. Each place we had plenty of food to eat, from various cookies and pastries at the first stop, to multiple meats, cheeses, bread at the second and so on. The cost for this tour is a great value. We were stuffed by the time we got to the gelato.

This was a great tour and I highly recommend it. It's a great value, you get to try a lot of local food, and learn about the Trastevere area along the way.

Great Experience
Mar. 2018 • Solo
It was pouring with rain and the others in the group unfortunately did not make it,so I had a 1-1 tour! We started at the magnificent Biscottificio InnocentI where the biscuits are to die for. From there to a deli where I had cheeses and cooked meats . Next came suppli - deep fried rice and mozzarella balls - very filling. Pizza came next. I was quite full by now but finished with lovely chocolate gelato. As we walked through the streets, Rafael was full of knowledge about this lovely area and we visited a couple of beautiful churches.
All of the food was excellent ( biscuits and the mushroom pizza were my favourites)
This was a top class experience, I highly recommend and would book again.
