About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- donnaaU6251DB0 contributionsMemorable walking food and historic tour!It was our lucky day! Since it was a bit off-peak season, although we had signed up for a small group tour, my husband & I were the only people in the group on that day. So we had the undivided attention of our wonderful guide Fabriza. She was very passionate about her craft and extremely engaging and well-informed, blending historical facts and cultural aspects of the food & wine along the way! She was very meticulous to ensure that at every point in the tour she would brief us well ahead of reaching the place, so that we could appreciate the stop well-informed. She was a goldmine of information, and even peppered her spiel with some interesting little known fun facts that opened our eyes to the various sights to far beyond the basic touristy stuff. Very patient and personable, and went out of her way to help us take our photos and caution us about being safe while in busy touristy areas. The tour itself was a delight with each “course” of the meal experienced at each stop - first the appetizers at the market, then the cold cuts & wine, followed by pizza nook, the delightful pasta & wine heritage restaurant, the best tiramisu place, the bustling authentic coffee place and the final gelato house. Far exceeded our expectations! ThankyouWritten 26 January 2025
- F7085BUhollye0 contributionsNot tailored for kidsThis was really disappointing. After doing a lot of research into the most engaging tours for kids, and having paid a lot of money for a small group tour, we arrived at the tour to find that the only other people were in their 60s and most certainly did not have kids. And the tour group explained to them that the tour would be kid friendly. Which to me implies that they had booked a different tour to us. If not, why were they at a kids tour. Overall our guide was very nice but didn’t really bring the colesseum to life for us. My children (3 and 7) were totally unengaged, and we were too, given that the tour didn’t really cover much more than is in the colesseum Wikipedia page. We spent a lot more time looking at information boards than looking at the colesseum itself! I will be asking for my money back (AUD 510!)Written 22 December 2024

Arianna worked magic with a group of drenched tourists on a wet March day. Her sweetness and fun and enthusiasm made everyone happy and relaxed. Brilliant food, great knowledge, a lovely thing to do. From the boy who called Stonehenge “just a lot of stones”: “it was very fun and that was the best ice cream ever”!

Alice/Alicia (I believe it's pronounced Ali-che) went above and beyond. It was a great environment she showed us some hole in the wall(s) that We would have had some trouble finding, had excellent knowledge of the food in general as well as excellent knowledge about the history of the foods we ate. She exposed us to great wine and Roman cuisine, wrangled a bunch of drunk rambunctious adults with class (not easy) and when the night was over she emailed us with some more recommendations for the rest of our stay. She's amazing and went above and beyond.
*I won't post the screenshot or PDF of the places she recommended because I don't want to undercut her business but I highly recommend her.

We really enjoyed our evening food tour with our guide Marco. He was both insightful and hilarious and took us around a great range of food while telling us interesting historical facts along the way. We found the margarita pizza from the 200 year old shop a highlight and enjoyed walking through the Jewish quarter. Would highly recommend anyone take this tour.

We bumped into a few people looking for our guide but met up before too long and since all turned up before departure time so left early. Food was simple but really welcome. Luca made even the most basic food titbits sound interesting. This former chef shared more than food insights - we had a real taste of Roman mindset and culture.

The food tour was a great start into our trip to Rome! I always wanted go to a food tour so I was very excited. And luckily I was very pleased!! Our guide, Arianna, was AMAZING! She was very kind, amusing and energetic. It was very interesting to listen to her and we we're very happy to hear some of her family stories and insiders of Rome. We had a great variety of food and drinks, accompanied by some background information about it.
Unfortunately time just flew by but at the end she gave us same additional restaurant tips!
Lastly, I would recommend to do the tour at the beginning of your trip as well, because that way you not only get some food Inspos and food spots recommendations for the next days but also a small tour through the city with a local (for orientation).
Thank you, Arianna! 🥰 (We saw so many other Madonnellas and had to think about you! 😅

We just loved our foodie tour of Rome with Denise, she is lovely and very knowledgeable. As a local she was able to give really good insights into local specialities and ways of eating, with good tips about places to return to or visit on our own.
We had two teens with us, one who has food allergies, and she was able to make the tour special for him as well. Would definitely recommend taking this tour at the beginning of a visit to Rome as you will learn all you need to eat well in this city!

I had a brilliant experience! The food we tried was all brilliant and the tour guide (I think his name may have been Matteo) was so knowledgeable about the history of the food we were eating and also the sites we passed by. He gave some great advice on other areas of Rome to check out and other foods to try. It was amazing to not only get to try some traditional Roman street food but also to learn so much about the beautiful city.

Highly recommend this tour, which offered prime local food and drink, as well as history, and some walking, all from a knowledgeable guide (named Mattia). The starting point was easy to find (Campo de Fiori), and there was a group of about 20 people. Started with cured meats, cheese (for vegetarians) and red wine from Norcineria Viola, an institution dating to 1890. Next was suppli (risotto ball with mozzarella and tomato sauce, only made in Rome) from Corner Pizza, freshly-made and steaming hot. Then walked over to Roscioli bakery, another Roman institution, dating back to 1924, where we had Roman pizza (almost like flatbread) and Italian beer. Quick stop at Gatti di Roma (site where Julius Caesar died and also archaeological site with 85 feral cats) then finished with gelato cone. Packed a lot into two hours! If you book the evening tour, basically a great way to do dinner.

I absolutely loved this tour! I always try to do a food tour on my first evening in a new city as it helps me get my bearings a bit and learn about the local history and their food culture. Mattio was a fantastic guide and shared loads of information about both the food in the city and about the history of the city itself, showing us some very cool spots along the way.
You get to try a great range of food as the tour goes on, including Roman staples like fried artichoke, suppli, Roman style pizza and gelato.
It was absolutely fab - I'd definitely recommend it!

I would recommend doing this tour early when visiting Rome so that you can go back to the participating restaurants and eat an entire meal! Everything we tasted was delicious. Our guide, Flame, was an exceptional! Not only did we get to taste some amazing food. She provided so much information about the background of the food as well as the location in which we were eating. You could tell she really loves her job and sharing her passion—good food, fellowship and fun!

We met at Campo de Fiori at the Bruno statue

Yes you do, but the places are not far from each other. Some of the food places we visited, had spaces / chairs to sit, so we sat down and had our food. Plus the walks and talks are very interesting, you barely realise how long you walk.

Hi, hope you're well.
We're looking at doing this food tour on Sunday as it's fits nicely into our schedule. I know alot of food stalls, restaurants and shops may shut on a Sunday. Therefore I wanted to know if we will miss out on areas of the tour on a sunday compared to any other day? If there are less stops on the sunday due to closures then I'll he happy to book on a different day.
Thanks

We did the food tour in the evening and all of the stops are pre-arranged so you should be fine. It’s 5 destinations with small tastes, but even with teenage boys we didn’t need to eat more. They do a great job weaving history with the food and we were glad we started our trip with this!

What is the difference between the private street food tour and the lunch tour?
Written 11 October 2019
I believe private tours are just for your group. The standard tour had many different travellers but that was quite interesting as you can chat and mix if you feel like doing so. Other travellers had good ideas about what to do next etc. Enjoy!
